Everything was fabulous, from the arrival to the departure! We will remember the people at the Hotel British House fondly because of how they treated and took care of us and provided everything that we needed. They even gave us a mobile phone because we stayed in the apartment away from the hotel, which gave us a local experience. The flat was spacious and included a table, furnished kitchen, and a separate room with a single bed. The balcony provides a southward city view. Each morning, we walked to the hotel for a hearty and homemade breakfast served by a lovely lady. It is always the service of the staff that makes a stay. This hotel delivered in terms of hospitality! I hope that we get a chance to stay there again.

We were warmly welcomed and well looked after. We were aware that the hotel has narrow stairs and is on many levels in the Vera district above the Rustaveli metro station. The staff were ready to carry our (heavy) bags up the various staircases. Our room was large and comfortable. The breakfasts similarly - the high carb content was very Georgian (khachapuri at the start of the day at least sets you up well). The staff sorted out a day trip, and were ready with lots of advice on where to go in the city. We would gladly return.

I returned to the British House a few weeks ago with some friends, following another ski trip to Western Georgia. If anything, the place has improved even more- the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, and the rooms are perfect. It is amazing how much Tbilisi has changed in the few years since my last trip- new restaurants just down the road, great coffee shops and so on. The hotel is perfectly located for the National Museum and a walk into the old city, along the river, and to the gondola up the mountain. It's a fantastic place to use as a base for Tbilisi and I am looking forward to returning again.

Five we were: 3 adults (grandma, grandpa, mom) and 2 teens (Maya and Alma). Our only mistake was choosing the last floor room for the golden couple. They were the funders so we thought they deserve the best view. The view was nice but the wooden-spiral-two-stories staircase was too much for their golden years. Yet one must emphasize the fact that the staff did not let the senior couple lift a pinkie with any of their luggage, and constantly insisted on schlepping it up and down on each and every needed occasion. It's difficult to choose what's best in this hotel: the staff, the rooms, the location, the food, the warmth, the coziness. Not any one of those. Each and every one of them. The hotel is located in the middle of a sloped street, making it 3 minutes downwards by foot to Shota-Rustaveli Blvd, and 6 minutes up back to the hotel. The staff was warm, friendly and helpful in all means and matters. And yet was almost unnoticed. They came into full helpful bloom when needed or requested. They provided us with helpful tips, accurate directions on carefully marked maps, special tickets for public transportation and sites, and generous and immediate response to each and every request and query. Beautiful large, very clean rooms. King-sized beds in each room (except one). Private toilets and shower room. All rooms (except one) boast a nice sized bath-tab in the shower room. Cozy furniture. Pleasant warm lighting and colors in all rooms. Rich and varied breakfasts - heartily homemade, tasty and generous. All of which grunt a true home-away-from-home feeling. We started missing the place the minute we left and we still do. Avoid, if possible room in last floor: narrow spiral staircase, narrow bed, absence of bathtub in shower room (still nice and roomy). P.S. 1. Giorgi Kodelashvili tel: 995558792010 A private 7 seats Toyota driver, which took us on interesting trips all around Georgia. Fluent in Russian but poor, yet existing, English. Very knowledgeable yet reasonably priced: 2. Very nice traditional Georgian restaurant: "Maspindzelo" (Gorgasali st., 7‬ Tbilisi) great kebabs and excellent traditional pasties.
