Located in the heart of Old Town, ancient district of 1600 year old capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. Boutique Hotel Villa Mtiebi is only walking distance from downtown, business and government center of this south caucasian metropolis. Hotel design is a unique blend of old Georgian and modern European trends, created by architect Emil Davitidze and Nika Gogava. Renovation in the 21 century preserved original style and ambiance of this 19 century building. Local and imported marble, natural stones and wood were widely used in the renovation of the hotel.

The hotel is located in the old part of the town so it's great for exploring the city and having a wide selection of restaurants. It's located in a quiet street so it's good to have a proper sleep.

The hotel is well maintained, the room was clean and functional. I can't really find any fault in that. The staff were great.

I would recommend this place.

Without doubt one of the best places we staid at in Georgia. This hotel is super cool with Jugendstil style, an inner court, good rooms and a superb staff. Helpful and super friendly. Clean rooms and bathrooms too. Location is nice in the middle of the old town. Yes, some houses around look like slumping, but this makes the hotel a paradise. Just far enough from the main tourist route. Love it!

Hotel Villa Mtiebi is a short walk from Freedom Square at the end of Rustavelli (where the Marriott Courtyard is) and therefore in a great location... as long as your sense of direction is good enough to negotiate a few hundred metres of winding old town streets. It is small and personal, but very professional and maintaining high standards - and at a really good price!

The rooms are centred around a central two-story courtyard, where a basic breakfast is served. The rooms are large and very smart - nice antique styled furniture, iron beds and a spotless white bathroom. We were on the ground floor (which with bars on window and one-way glass felt safe) but think that it would be nicer to be upstairs. We did have a mini-bar, but for some reason that changed after we arrived - they took away not the contents, but the fridge itself, leaving all the food and drink in the cupboard! Probably just an anomaly. Staff spoke English and, like everyone in Tbilisi, were very cheery.

They also organised our speedy driver, who was great - taking us too and from the airport and avoiding the stress of negotiating a cab fare ($20US each way).

Stayed here for three nights, on a research trip.

It's a well renovated, well maintained period villa, serviced by polite, accommodating and English speaking staff. I stayed in the 'small' room, but it was hardly a tragedy (the extra 'cupboard' wasn't that much of a nuisance, for me). The bathroom was reasonably sized, and of a high standard - even in 'Western' terms (very large mirror, quality shower, good tiles etc.).

Also, the hotel 'lobby' is a charming, cosy place, decorated in good taste and simply great to relax in. This is in stringent contrast with many surrounding streets, where numerous buildings await or are undergoing renovation. Nonetheless, I found the area to be safe, and very close / within walking distance to the city center (e.g., 5 minutes to the 'bridge of peace', 7-10 minutes to 'freedom square' & Rustaveli Ave.)

Tbilisi itself is a beautiful and interesting city, a millenary, paradoxical and secretive place. If you stay in a good hotel (and Mtiebi *is* a good hotel), you will probably enjoy it. (tip: visit the botanical gardens if you like waterfalls and Cyprus trees).

We stayed at Villa Mtebi for 5 nights in November. We were traveling with our two children and so have chosen the family suite. The room was super cost and very spacious, and the beds were as comfortable as you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Hotel itself has a lovely atmosphere, designed quite stylishly around a courtyard with rooms over two floors. The breakfast was generous and quite varied with both Georgian and standard cosmopolitan options (muesli, toasts, jogurts, etc). The location is simply superb-just in the heart of the old town, short walk to the main sights, yet very quiet and authentic. Lovely place, definitely recommended.

The hotel is located in the historic old part of town, few minutes from sights, restaurants and shops. Tucked away in a little side street, and away from the traffic, you feel like in the middle of village life (i.e. no traffic noise, and all you hear is people talking on the street). The small hotel (9 rooms) is a renovated Art-Deco building, the rooms are around a two storey-glass-roofed atrium. The rooms range from conveniently spaced (upstairs rooms) to rather small (donwstairs single rooms), but all are nicely furnished, spotlessly clean, in good shape and feel comfortable (also in Art-deco style?). Service quality is supportive and friendly in style, and excellent in realization (all promises kept with regard to email reservations and frequent transport organisation).
Breakfast is taken in the nice atrium and is appropriate, in addition it contains local salads (that look and taste homemade).
I would also stay here on vacation (and Tbilisi is worth the trip!).

The hotel is located in the Old Town, perfect for exploring the city and the rest of the country. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast in the lobby is fully satisfying.
We arrived early in the morning, at least 6 or 7 hours before the check-in time, but we got the room immediately, which was very nice.
When we were there in November only two or three other rooms were occupied and the guests were mostly business people.
A nice feature is a fire place in the lobby. We really enjoyed our evening tea there .

There are two cons however. The place is a bit pricy and can be slightly noisy because of the layout ( all rooms are entered directly from the lobby ).

The hotel is magnificent centred in the Old town of Tbilisi. From there, one can find the major tourist attractions in Tbilisi on walking distance (Museums, Rustavelli Avenue, churches, etc).

It is, as many buildings in Tbilisi, well guarded. So we felt very safe. It is a beautifull 'Jugendstil' Hotel.

Our room on the second floor was very well furnished, of course also in 'Jugendstil', which gave it the flair of the beginning of the 20th century.

The staf was very professional, friendly, and helpfull. Some do not only speak English, but also French or German.

As the previous comment says, there are only a few rooms, you can request ground floor or the upper floor is just a short flight of stairs. Breakfast is a selection of pastry, breads, local jams and fresh juices, tea and coffee as well as a small selection of hot food and eggs cooked to your liking.
