Response from GEORGE K, General Manager at Vere Palace
Responded Apr 21, 2018
Dear Amir Thank you very much for your time and positive feedback. I am pleased to hear that location of our Vere Palace hotel in Tbilsi was convenient for you. We are happy that you enjoyed our delicious breakfast. We do appreciate your kind remarks about the staff as they do try very hard to please our customers. Unfortunately, our pool is open one and it will be fully functioned in the summer as well as the roof terrace. Thank you and looking forward to be at your service again soon. Yours sincerely George Kondratiev

On a quiet side street, this hotel is elegant (for Georgia) in a kind of old fashioned way. The lobby is large and elaborately decorated. The rooms are huge. The breakfast buffet is quite large with perfectly acceptable (if not inspired) food.

HOWEVER the beds are big but, for a Westerner, not especially soft and the fitness room machines are the kind of thing you are supposed to buy for homes, not gyms that get regular use.

The best part of the hotel is the rooftop terrace bar and pool (which is up stairs on the very top of the hotel). In nice weather, you can look out over the city, drink or swim. If you stay here you should definitely spend some time on the roof.

The Hotel itself has a lot of character, a pianist plays at night in the foyer, corridors ramble off in all directions with sculptures and odd decorations in niches at every turn. The problems are the unfriendly staff, polite but stern, and the rooms. The bathrooms are renovated, modern and comfortable. The bedrooms, well...think 70's movie set. Old shag carpet, stained and patchy. A bed at shin height with a large back panel of -more carpet. Desperately needs a revamp of the scruffy furniture, scraped walls and awful carpet. Would be worth staying just for the sheer novelty if you got a very cheap rate.

We stay in that hotel for 2 nights. I read the comments about this hotel but had no option to change my booking. The comments are right!!!!!. It's not clean, must have renovation, bed are in very bad condition that must be replaced, lights not working and much more, breakfast I think is better to skip. In the bottom line if you can avoid staying this is not 4 star hotel and not sure that even 3.

our dirty room only had towels for one; safe did not function in spite of trials by bellboy; at night howling dogs and cats in heat with window open due to lack of airco. not to be recommended as staff is unhelpful to solve problems. very good breakfast!

Arrived around midnight at the hotel after a long flight. The decor is dark, eerie and there are strange paintings all over the hotel of faceless ladies in Victorian dresses. This is creepy and I was not comfortable for the duration of the stay. The rooms are dirty and I never heard a vacuum cleaner in 4 days. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The pillows caused me the most frustration. Thin as paper. Aircon did not work properly. Not in a very good or safe neighborhood. I was kept awake until 3am by fighting and shouting in the street below. The police eventually arrived on the scene. I did not feel safe to walk anywhere Breakfast was disappointing! Some of the staff members are really pleasant and try really hard. The Wifi connection was amazing!! Sadly I wouldn't recommend this hotel:(

My stay at Vere Palace was absolutely fantastic. First of all the name speaks for itself, since it indeed is like a palace in every sense of the word, a beautiful building in a wonderful setting. The service was excellent, the rooms fabulous, the breakfast exquisite and I dream of going back one day.

This hotel never deserved 4 star. The infrastructure of Hotel is very poor. Some of the rooms are very cold. WCs are very often out of usage... Especially employees in reception are very rude !!!
I'll never accomodate in this hotel.

Probably only when opening the hotel was 4 stars. now this is not true. The beds are ancient and uncomfortable, the elevator is old, water leaks in the bathroom.
And be very careful, do not leave valuables unattended. The camera is installed only at the entrance. Therefore, it is impossible to see who entered your room without you. While we went down to the lobby for 15 minutes, we lost money from several wallets. So we did not notice took only part of the money. This happened to us for the first time, although we have come to Tbilisi several times already.

Very much enjoyed the weeklong stay. Front desk personnel were knowledgeable. Their English was great. The room was perfectly cleaned every night. The location was convenient. The price was very fair.
