We really enjoyed our stay here! Yes, the house looks a little crooked from outside, but inside you will find an amazing hostel with big, nice rooms and a nice and clean bathroom/ toilet. But the best thing is the host, Irakli! He is so helpful and will offer you his knowledge and opinion about everything you will ever wanna know - it was a real blessing to have him around when we planned the rest of our trip around Gorgia! All in all, amazing hostel, great host!

Skadaveli was one of the best guesthouses we stayed at during our travels in Georgia. The room was spacious and equipped with everything you need and there was even a small balcony. What makes this guesthouse outstanding is first of all the ever helpful owner secondly and the lovely balcony. The owner Irakli is a calm, pleasant and friendly guy who will help and assist you with everything you may want to know. For example, his wine and restaurant recommendations were excellent. The balcony of this typical Georgian house is a lovely place to relax, enjoy some Georgian wine or meet some fellow travellers.

I fully agree with the positive reviews below. Don't be put off by outside appearances - when we arrived in the early hours of the morning we weren't quite sure what we were entering! But the historic building is part of the charm. The rooms were comfortable, clean and we loved the long outside terrace connecting everything. The owner, Irakli, is such a welcoming and helpful host, and we loved chatting with him (he was also great to deal with on email making the booking and arranging our airport pick-up). And the location is amazing. Completely central and near the action of bars and restaurants, but also hidden away - a quite oasis to retreat to. We had to move accommodation to a hotel when we joined a tour, and were so sad to leave. I can't imagine visiting Tbilisi and staying any where else. We really felt we got a little slice of Georgian life staying there.

I don't want to be redundant so will just say "ditto" to all the other reviews. But my original idea is this: When I came home I was inspired to scrub my bathroom from ceiling to floor so that it would be as spotless as every room, hallway and bathroom at Skadaveli! And it takes a lot to motivate me to take out the scrub bucket! I can't wait to return!
