Our stay in thanlwin guesthouse was absolutely perfect: quiet and comfortable room, clean and big shared bathrooms, nice place to take a dinner or breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helped us to book taxis or buses. Moreover the young staff can cook some delicious Burmese meals. We felt at home, a special hello and thanks to CeCe for her smile and joy of life.

I will start by saying I have not stayed here, but I visit weekly for the amazing food! This is my favourite place to go. The tea leaf salad, Shan noodles, and iced tea are worth the visit. A lovely and quiet (sometimes a rarity in Yangon) common area, and I often meet travellers from all corners of the world. The staff is incredibly friendly and the price is extremely affordable.

I stayed here for three nights. I can totally recommand this hostel. The only downside is that it's not downtown. It's located a little outside at the lake but there frequent buses bringing you downtown for aprox. 50 cent $ or you can take a taxi for 3 $. So not a big deal. Otherwise it's a really nice guesthouse, very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast (local and continental) with wholewheat toast, omlett, homemade jam etc. The rooms are specious and very clean. I slept in the dorm for 4 girls. We even had an AC. Outside is a little yard with a hamok and a sofa to chill. Very nicely done with lots of love. When they ordered a taxi for the other day, it was perfectly on time (even a bit early). Around the corner you have the shoppingmall Myanmar Placa where you can find everything you need. I would go back anytime!

The location is quite good for me. It is not downtown. If you want to be downtown, don't stay here. It is near a major shopping center and a nice lake, which is a decent place to run/walk in the mornings. The restaurant is excellent and value-priced. The food is good, and the ambiance outside is nice. They have a good generator on hand for outages, and plenty of hot water. Only gripe would be the shared bathroom can make mornings a bit tricky if you have a schedule to keep. Otherwise, it was great. Highly recommended.

We booked this place because of the good ratings on TripAdvisor and we never regretted to do so. We were received with a warm welcome from the staff in this quite house just a bit outside the Center of yangon (perfect after a long day of visiting). About the room : we slept in the Queen and the king. Both of then are perfectly clean and spacious with comfy beds. Also the food is cheap and very good. These were the best sham noodles we tried in our whole trip in myanmar. What really makes the difference is the service and the owners. They both helped us arranged our whole trip with great advice. We also could share a lot of informations and discuss about myanmar culture and country. We felt so nice that we decided to book there also when we came back from travelling around the country. All their advices was great and it was a good feeling coming back there! They will help you arrange everything (taxi ,bus, tours, etc.) Aye : thank you again for everything. Take care !
