My wife and I stayed here for the final 3 nights of our honeymoon. We intentionally splurged on Yangon's nicest hotel and do not regret it one bit. We will definitely search for Belmond hotels in other cities. The best part of the hotel is the staff. At check-in, we told the hotel that it was our honeymoon. They offered... More

Absolutely wonderful. Large, beautiful rooms and lovely swimming pool and garden. Located in the Embassy quarter so nice and quiet, away from the bustle of downtown Yangon. The free tours every day to things like the Chinese market were an unexpected bonus. The cooking class and dinner in the Burmese restaurant were also fantastic.

I have read a few negative reviews about this place and cannot understand them. I thought this hotel was first class. if you want luxury and to chill for a few days as a special treat - book here. what really made it were the staff. they were super attentive, english was very good. we were given an upgrade and... We really splashed out on one night in this hotel as it is by any measure expensive. However it was best decision we made as from the moment we walked through the door at 6am we were greeted and welcomed by lovely staff who really went the extra mile to help. The colonial building is beautiful and very well preserved... More

I'm not very used to write negative reviews, but this time I feel like I need to. I stayed at the Governor's Residence just one night and I literally checked-out an hour ago. I was back in Yangon after two weeks of heavy trekking in the north and wanted to relax for a night, before leaving the city again for... More

Lovely hotel which evokes memories of the colonial Raj. The rooms are very similar to high end Balinese hotels with lacquered floors and a large bathroom. The swimming pool and the extended lake is a real feature of the hotel. Breakfast was well presented. The Kipling bar could be a real feature of the hotel but the "Doof-Doof" music was... More

Well-preserved colonial buildings, stunning gardens, excellent food and service. Even if you're unwilling or unable to stay in the classic-Burmese-appointed, comfortable, but very pricey rooms, recommend splurging for the amazing breakfast, especially if you need a break from the teeming streets of Yangon.

I stayed here with my family a couple weeks ago, and we stayed for two nights. My feelings are this: Rooms: Small but does the trick. Nothing fancy, but they are clean and the beds are okay. Food: Prohibitively expensive! They have a wagyu beef hamburger for $42 and it wasn't very good! The rest of their food is not... More

We were here for lunch but the hotel really is a beautiful Oasis in Yangon. The hotel is a modernised old colonoal building and has plenty of character and is extremely well kept. The service was fantastic although the food did disappoint this may be only the lunch menu. The Tacos with wagu beef were not crispy and the wagu... More

The hotel is located on the a quiet road, surrounded by many embassies in the neighbourhood. Their guest relationship team organise daily activity to show the guests around and it's the best and easiest ways to explore the city - the team will explain the local culture and everything, it's simply the best! It takes about 40-60mins from airport and... More
