Upon arrival guests are offered a damp towel to refresh, a glass of cold tea and a lei of flowers. The grounds, inside the property walls, have green lawns, little ponds outside the rooms and a beautiful swimming pool. They also have 2 peacocks. The rooms are spacious and beautiful, complete with mosquito netting. Beside the king-size bed in out...

We thought we had entered another world when we arrived here in this colonial style hotel. The welcoming garland of jasmine and the chilled drink handed over by the charming staff was just the beginning. Our room was beautifully appointed, the beds bliss and the bathroom huge, there were a load of welcoming goodies waiting for us, a chilled bottle...

We spent 2 nights at the Governor's Residence on a long weekend break from Singapore. We had thought about staying at the Strand due to its central position and history but were so glad we decided on the Governor's Residence - it is such a relaxing place - fabulous staff. Beautiful heritage teak building with welcoming swimming pool nestled around...

Stayed at this property for 1 night. The property is a lush oasis in Yangon, in a great location with an amazing staff. The rooms are well appointed, clean and incredibly comfortable. The staff are absolutely amazing, I had travel issues with the local airlines and the staff rebooked, refunded and produced a new ticket in less than 30 minutes....

Green oasis in the Embassy Quarter, very quiet and relaxing, good service, wonderful historic rooms, good breakfast and food, unfortunately no gym - but planning one, very nice pool and good spa. Overall very recommendable.

After a twenty-plus hour trip to Yangon we simply melted into this stunning tropical property. Private, beautifully landscaped, and yet low-key, it was the most perfect place to set ourselves going again. The service is excellent and personal, the staff being charming as well as being terribly attractive too! The Wifi is fine, the food is very good. The breakfast...

My husband and I have recently returned from a two week trip to Myanmar and our first stop was the Governors Residence in Yangon. It is a beautiful hotel and a very comfortable relaxing place to stay and tour the immediate area. Its not as central as some of the hotels but worth the quick drive into the centre of...

As good as advertised,  and if you are looking to go high end,  it’s a more interesting option than the more modern hotels that are springing up in Yangon.  We really liked the intricate wood work found throughout the property and it feels like you’re going back a few centuries. The cuisine was good but not the highlight necessarily.  We...

This was our first stop in Myanmar. We’d chosen it as somewhere special after the long flight and it’s certainly that. This is an undeniably lovely property but it's also fair to say that it is somewhat faded in places. We had a Governor’s Room, which was absolutely beautiful and we slept well. The restaurant is way overpriced but I...

Though we were unable to stay at this lovely hotel, my friends and I wanted to see it, so we stopped by for tea and coffee. The staff was kind and welcoming, and we sat near the pool and relaxed, enjoying the beautiful scenery with some delicious snacks. It was the highlight of our morning - I'm definitely hoping to...
