I had a chance to stay at the strand. This being a very old and colonial type hotel, but the service was extremely good. There is butler service on each floor and also unlimited tea and coffee They provide extended stay at discounted rates

My mother and I spent 4 days at the Strand in Yangon. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. They arranged the best half day and full day tours for us - a walking tour of the historic district of Yangon and a full day tour to Bago with a guide and driver (about 90 minute from Yangon). If...

This is a return stay at The Strand, having been a couple of years ago we decided to return to see more of the city and enjoy this splendid hotel. Our preference is an historic hotel which isn't always available but sometimes you come across gem and returning is wonderful treat. The service is exceptional, staff welcoming, helpful and friendly,...

Wanted to stay there for long time, finally got a chance to spent one night there, it was luxury, royal and majestic. The service was superb, the rooms are clean and have a sense of royalty, Moreover the hotel was built since British occupation of Burma and night over by the Prince of Wales (then) King George of England (later)

Stayed here at the tail end of a week in Yangon. It is a lovely hotel. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make me comfortable. Several interesting stores and a nice art gallery connect to the hotel. Enjoyed a tea leaf salad in the restaurant. Very relaxing stay.

We picked The Strand as the stand out place to stay in Yangon and we were not disappointed. The old world charm of the entrance foyer and atrium extends to the restaurant, bar and lavish rooms. Our room on the second floor was in fact a suite and was immaculately appointed. The breakfasts were ordered individually and served at the...

We had the opportunity of staying here a few weeks ago. The hotel itself is outstanding with the use of polished teak. The staff was very friendly. My daughter had a birthday and they surprised us with a cake. The High Tea is definitely not to be missed. At night take a walk down to Sula Pagoda. It is a...

We stayed here for 3 nights as our first stop in Myanmar. The room was large; however, there was quite a bit of noise from the street. The wifi was strong and was in the rooms as well as public areas. One complaint was that the shower area was quite small. However, there is also a tub. The bath towels...

My friends were staying at the Strand and raving about it so we decided to make the switch from our existing hotel. The place is filled with history and character which gave it a nice vibe. It always nice to be told by your butler you are staying in the same room as some famous person did decades past. The...
