We Eloped on Erakor Island over Christmas and had 5 perfect nights on the island. From the moment we arrived every tiny thing was taken care of. Lita the wedding co-coordinator met us with a hug and a smile as we stepped off the boat....More
Great family holiday spot on the prettiest island close to Port Villa and any activity you wish to do in Vanuatu.

A beautiful little island resort. Very quaint. It's a short ferry ride across from Le Lagon resort. The kitchen is run by Melanesian staff, the food is delicious and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.
My family of 4 (including 2 children aged 17 & 19) visited Erakor the week prior to Christmas. We booked a 2 bedroom family garden room directly with the island. All bookings, communications etc went very smoothly with the island.
After a disappointing arrival (Air...More
The Staff, led by the wonderful Sarah, were terrific. Where else could you the girls running down the jetty to give you a hug and a kiss "goodbye"? We were there for 9 days, and, really saw no reason to go anywhere else. Loved it!!!!!!

We did not find the food overly expensive at all. Breakfast is included in the price of your stay - they have all the usual continental breakfast items including amazing pastries. There is also a cooked breakfast menu (eggs, pancakes etc) at no extra charge and it is fantastic. Other meals were probably similar to what you would pay in Australia but it was without a doubt some of the best food we have ever had. Fresh, fresh, fresh and plentiful. Excellent beef and fish and the fruit is gorgeous. If you don’t want to eat in the restaurant, staff happily bring meals and drinks to your villa.
We are not big drinkers and only had the occasional drink/cocktail which again, was on par with Australian prices. We had a family of two adults and two kids stay for a week and our total food/drink bill (eating every day at the resort)worked out to about $500.
There is a 24 hour boat back to the mainland (5 minute trip) and you can get a taxi or bus into town (5-10 mins). You can easily drop into the local supermarket (called Bon Marche) to buy drinks and snacks etc. There is an ATM and they take eftpos. I didn’t buy a great deal but the supermarket is well stocked with anything you could possibly want or need. My husband is a smoker and cigarettes are also very cheap...that was the only thing we did find expensive at the resort.
Port Villa also has a large number of restaurants but we didn’t try these during our stay...next time.

Yes there is and there are so many huge starfish, sea cucumbers, marine creatures etc. My son loved it. There are dugongs on the opposite side but we did not see them. Low tide is a better time for walking the beach and exploring rock pools. Erakor does provide snorkling gear and reef shoes if needed (not in sizes for little kids though).
We were advised by one of the staff to spend the day at Hideaway Island as the snorkelling there is supposed to be much better with reefs and more colourful fish (we did not get there though).
