If you ever dreamed of escaping to an isolated island, snorkelling clear tropical waters around a ship wreck and circumnavigation on white sands of a paradise getaway, then you can hop over to Pangaimotu in just 10 minutes from the wharf near the tiny daily fish market near port Nukualofa. Week days there's only an 11 am ferry there and... More

Great to visit any day of the week but we saved it for a Sunday as everything closes on Tonga'tapu on that day as its a day for family and church. Cost when we went was TOP$45 for the boat ride plus lunch (drinks extra). Mainly burgers but that was ok. When busy there is a bit of a wait... More

I have very fond memories of Pangaimotu and it is without a doubt one of my favorite Sunday activities! However since coming back to tonga I was a little disappointed to find that the price of going to the island is now inclusive of both food and the boat ride for TOP $45. Now this may seem to be a... Travel is ok got there in 10mins. Lunch came with the price so was a bonus. Literally took them exactly 1hr 20min to make our lunch. We noticed after 30mins so I kindly reminded them and even after that it took even longer.. By that time I was mad and wanted to get off but even then I couldn't because... More

Lucky for me, we live in Tonga and own a boat so jumping aboard and heading to Pangaimoto is a regular indulgence. Ana and Earl, the Resort owners are lovely people. I have spent many a happy time chatting with Ana. All of the staff are amazing too. The resort is a no frills, pacific island joy. It has a... More

Anyone visiting Nuku' alofa Tonga must visit the island of Pangaimotu and have lunch at Big Mumma's yacht club. The island is amazing and the $35 AUD covers the boat transfer and an amazing lunch that's made from the freshest local produce. Great snorkelling around the two ship wreaks that are just meters from the bar. A must for anyone... More

We went there for a day trip. It's a cool and interesting island. We wanted to stay in the resort however they only have a day trip service which cost Top$45/pp (includes ferry and lunch) their burger is awesome. We walk around the small island. And did some Swimming around the "Big Mama". Wonderful day spent in Pangaimotu island.

Best way to relax on an island for the day. Boat transfers incl. lunch which you pay for and order on arrival. The fish and chips is probably the best on the menu and there is a bar. Popular with locals. Amenities are basic, the beach and water fantastic but take yr own snorkels or just swim. Unfortunately no accommodation... More

No frills resort, basic but beach is good for long walks, beach combing, swimming and just chilling out. The island is very conveniently accessible as a boat regularly ferries guests from Nukualofa wharf to resort and back, boat ride is 10-15 minutes. The resort is swamped by locals and foreign tourists but no problem the island has nice beautiful beach... More

A 10 minute boat trip from Nufu 'alofa, Tonga to spend a day on Pangaimotu Island. On a sunny day with a slight breeze, it's like paradise. You can relax, swim, join in activities such as snorkelling, volleyball or beach walking. Lunch is very tasty.
