We stayed here for a week, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very close to town making walking distance to restaurants and the warf for day trips no problem at all. If possible I would highly recommend booking a room with a balcony and sea views. Staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and did everything they could to make our... More

Travelled here to Tonga to perform for the Kings mothers birthday Queen Halaevalu. Beautiful big rooms, huge Super King beds. It was abit musty in some of the rooms downstairs than the ones upstairs as our group almost had the whole motel we could compare. Front rooms by far the best great quality and wonderful view. Staff are wonderful and... More

stayed here as part of a humanitarian surgical team visit so was not by choice. But after staying here for two weeks, it is now the only place I would consider staying on Tongatapu!. It became our home away from home and it is the staff across all areas, who made it thus. First impressions (at 3am in the morning... More

The location is good. The information is just next door. The room (No. 248) was ocean view. and I appreciate the extension of check out time until 13.30 without extra. but there were some problems to be improved as shown below. 1. There was no bath tub. All rooms don't furnish it. 2. There was no elevator (even there were... More

We booked 3 months in advance, the complementary taxi from the airport was 20 minutes late. We were the last people waiting at the airport at 8pm. The taxi took us without warning to another of the owners different hotels, the Meida, because there was apparently no room. We were all 4 packed into one room. Unpleasant & embarrassing standoff... Stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks whilst on business. It is one of the better hotels in the Tongan capital. The rooms are large and they are maintained daily and there is a Chinese restaurant in the hotel. It unfortunately does not have any 'western' choices on the menu. It is close to the centre of town and you... More

Their restaurant they served Chinese food, Chinese is not my kind of thing but the kids seem to enjoy their fried rice, so why not if... More

The Emerald is a Chinese restaurant. It is so good that I ate there 4 days out of the 8 I was in nuku'alofa Tonga! There are inexpensive wines to complement the meal as well as the delicious Chinese tea. I enjoyed the pork fried rice; the chicken chop suey; the stir fry... EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS! And inexpensive! Don't leave... More
