Spacious two bedroom apartment with amazing views - fantastic base for me and my teenage daughters. Great location and easy walking distance to beaches, aquarium, local restaurants and bus routes. Local supermarket about 20 minute walk from complex; small epicerie on site. Easy access to local bus stops. Tips: - you will need to purchase/bring tea, coffee, milk, laundry and dishwashing products as these are not provided; - bring extra towels for the beach; - you can purchase wifi to use on-site. Alternately, there is limited free wifi at local information centre (5 minute walk) and a number of restaurants provide access to wifi with purchase. - get a map of local area If we do another trip to Nouméa, I would definitely stay at Casa del Sole again.
I was a bit nervous about returning here (last stayed in 2007) after some negative reviews on here. However I could not resist the perfect location (surely the best in Noumea, right on Baie Des Citrons which has the best strip of restaurants/bars in NC). In fact our stay was excellent. We were in a renovated apartment on the top floor with a balcony and amazing views. Reception was really friendly and helpful, including arranging airport transfers. There's even a cafe/convenience store on the ground floor these days- perfect for picking up a baguette and croissants.
Stayed as a family late Dec 2019 to early Jan 2020 for 8 nights. Check in was smooth (English speaking). But no real additional info like local maps, restaurants suggestions etc. at check in. We stayed in a 1 br apartment on the Anse Vata side. The apartment was large, with large balcony. The apartment seemed relatively new or refurbished. Furniture and fittings were in good condition. Some other reviews had mentioned it being too windy on the Anse Vata side, but while there was usually a breeze there it wasn't unpleasant at all and we often used the balcony. Maybe this varies with the season? The kitchen was adequately equipped with dishes, plates, pots and pans to cook a simple meal if required. There was a full size fridge freezer. There was an electric stove including oven as well as a microwave. A dishwasher is also provided. There is also a drip filter coffee maker. No condiments, coffee, tea, sugar etc. we're provided. The bathroom provided towels, soap, shampoo and 2 rolls of toilet paper. There was a combined shower/bath. The hot water came out hot and strong whenever you wanted it. We were on the 12th floor with great views of Anse Vata beach. The downside is that despite its name the apartment is not serviced during our stay. This meant the same towels, also taking your own trash to the garbage room on the ground floor as the bins filled up. Also we had to buy our own toilet paper from a supermarket (there is a small store/cafe on the ground floor to buy basic supplies as well). The location is great. About 200m to either Bai De Citrons or Anse Vata beaches. Also close to many cafe and restaurant. As long as you are aware of the limited service and supplies I would recommend this property for a stay in Noumea.…
We spent five nights at the Casa del Sole overlooking the Baie de Citrons. The apartments are in a great location between Anse Vata and the Baie. The views were stunning and the one bedroom apartment was a good size. The verandah was a lovely place to hang out, especially for sunset. The kitchen is adequately fitted out and includes large fridge, microwave and stove. This is a non serviced apartment with no tea/coffee provided at all so bring your coffee and loo paper or you can use the small shop near reception to buy what you need. There was no free WIFI but as we had our own I am not sure if you can purchase. The only negative was the noise from their nightclubs, so bring your earplugs as only Monday and Tuesday night were quiet. Recommend these apartments and would stay again.…
Knowing there would be noise from the bars, on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights, we were prepared. It was not loud enough ( on the 12th floor) to wake you, but if you needed a nocturnal visit, it made it a bit harder to get back to sleep, but not impossible.Very large rooms, clean & tidy, & a handy shop( like a corner dairy) downstairs.
