The hotel is situated right on the beach with only a nice garden and a pool area in between. The rooms are spacious, modern and very clean - most (if not all) are suites with a large kitchen/bath/bedroom/lounge. Unfortunately I cannot give the hotel a really high grade, because it has some really negative sides too: The breakfast is served... More

Chateau Royal is one of the best located and decked out hotels in Noumea and can't fault the rooms, they are beachy, chic and luxurious, and the staff are professional and obliging (which to be honest you would expect for the price). Yet there are so many things that let this place down - the breakfast buffet is godawful, like... More

Room was comfortable and relaxing. Food in resteraunts in the hotel was cooked well and presented. Staff were obliging and polite. Take your manners with you and you get smiles and respect. If you use even the smallest of French ( 1970's school lessons here) you get a big smile. Be patient. In the spa you cannot wear swim shorts,... More

We stayed here for a week. The 2 bedroom suite was ideal for us. It was clean and well equipped with a small kitchen. The restaurants both in the hotel and nearby are expensive compared with Auckland. The wifi included in the room rate didn't last long so we bought the unlimited pack. Generally the staff are very helpful. Our... More

Great room, lovely view, superb amenities. Everything was perfect. Can't wait to visit again. The restaurant Le Taom was great and offered delicious food and wine choices. The lighting outside was bright - but closing the curtains solved that problem.

The suites are exactly as they are in the photos. My only issue with the suites was the blue balcony light. It was very simple unpleasant. It made eating and drinking on the balcony a horrible experience. The curtains didn't fit well enough to clock out the light either so it was like sleeping under a neon blue nightclub sign... More

We had 10 days here. A wonderful location on the water with great views. Close to many restaurants. Small pool and you could never get a sun lounge no matter what time of the day!! Very annoying for the number of people staying at the hotel!!! Breakfast the first morning was terrible with all food cold, it did get better... More

This place is great! My wife and I stayed here for five nights to spend time in the sun relaxing and not doing much. The suites are just like the pictures on the web site. My pics show it a bit messed up. Anyway, plenty of space, great exotic pacific decor, great bathroom, etc. There was no coffee machine or... More

I was last here about 20 years ago when the Chateau was Club Med and I was footloose and fancy free. This time I came with my husband, 2 year old and 6 month old for our first family holiday as a group of 4. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment for 7 nights which was perfect for our... More

This hotel is beautifully presented, two bedroom suite with panoramic sea views amazing. Clean and tidy. Very friendly staff members. Unfortunately the breakfast is not so flash, breakfast is to 10.30, we arrived at 9.45 to very little food available, scrambled eggs looked hard and dry, toast was the only appetising meal. Staff were sweeping and washing the floors around... More
