The 'old' Loloata resort was a few decades old but was a very charmy and cosy place. Not long ago, the old resort was completely knocked down and replaced by a state of the art western style resort. By looking at the facilities alone, one could not guess that you are in Papua New Guinea. The resort could be anywhere in the world. Lacks character. The food is OK but nothing special. While there are 365 days a year wind and sun, the diesel generator runs 24/7. The developers could have invested in more eco-friendly/renewable technology to keep the air cons going.....

The check in was perfect & the room was welcoming .Staff is very friendly .The breakfast buffet in a Private Island resort needs more attention .By the time we reached the buffet at 8-30 am .Every thing was done with .The buffet lacks some touches .No cold cuts/salami only two cheese vey poorly displayed. No nuts ,no oats no dried fruits like dates & apricots .Only one type of sausage Pork ! with no warning signs ! I would only say the breakfast did not match the HYPE around the name . The sewage treatment plant smells especially early morning & late evenings .The generator noise is too heavenly in this remote private island.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience at Loloata Island Resort on Trip Advisor I am delighted that you enjoyed your experience with us and will share your appreciation with our team. While I'm glad that my team was helpful and friendly, I do regret for the lapse in breakfast spread and I personally guarantee you that our breakfast spread has been increased without compromising on its quality. I have also noted your comment on sewage smell which was very unfortunate and we made sure the same day it was addressed. Also we are working on alternate way for our power supply to the island that will be solar or wind mill which is more ecofriendly. I value your recommendation and look forward to welcome you back at Loloata Island Resort in nearer future. Regards, Uday Kumar General Manager

I was pleasantly surprised with our stay at the resort. The service was efficient and friendly. The rooms were comfortable. A bit expensive for the extra bed, that we required. Kids had a great time at the pool. It would be ideal if there could be a kids class with the activities such as snorkeling and kayaking. Food is pricey but understandable with the distance from the city. More variety on the menu however would be good. Also maybe a little convenience shop on site, selling snacks, flip flops etc.

Transportation was on time, lovely waiting area, a complimentary water dispenser would've been great there. Island facilities were gorgeous! Service was prompt, the food was good, the staff were warm and friendly especially Stanley who made our day trip very comfortable. Little things like someone to great us when the boat arrived on the island with a run down of where different facilities were located would've been handy. Only after enquiring were we given a map of the island. Other than that it's a great escape from Port Moresby and I'll definitely be back.

We went to Loloata as a family of three for holiday. We live in PNG and did not want to leave the country. We were picked up from our hotel promptly by the shuttle driver and taken to the dock for the quick ferry ride over to the island. Our check-in and room were great. We would recommend bringing some of your own snacks because there is no convenience store on the island. All of our food was purchased from the one restaurant (the second restaurant was closed) and even though the food was very good, it tended to be pricey. We would like to say thank you to server Stanley. He was friendly and prompt and waited on us several times in the restaurant. We also appreciate Jessica, the dive instructor. She did a wonderful job on my husband's dive. We loved so much about our time there. We would recommend to the resort that they consider turning some of the rooms into two queen bed rooms to accommodate more small families. The extra bed charge they wanted to charge us for our daughter was quite expensive, but we could not afford the two bedroom villa. We had a lovely time. We wish the best to Loloata and hope it thrives.
