We did visit 4 times during our holiday. The rooms were good except one not good flushing toilet. The breakfast (from early to 10:00) was very good.
It was a short walk to the center of Paramaribo.
The have a small pool with towels (except for the first day we visit) and a bar (closed on the second time we visit). Note that the prices are extreme high for comparing with all other places we did get a drink.

The main issues where the very late check-in time of 4:30 PM and a very rude receptionist, not only to me but to multiple guests. I really don't understand that a hotel would have someone like working by the reception.

They have a luggage store. They give you stickers to prove what luggage is from you but it is not used when collection the luggage. The first time we wanted to collect our luggage we needed to wait very long till the employee did show up.

We came to the Eco Torarica after previously staying in another hotel in Paramaribo that did not meet our needs. The 'Eco" was a vast improvement and my review may be a bit coloured by that. This is a nice looking hotel with an older building containing the restaurant/bar and newer buildings to the side for the accommodation. We stayed single nights on 2 different occasions. My first room had twin beds that were pushed together but made up separately. The 2nd had 1 queen bed. Both rooms were of a reasonable size with balcony. There was a fridge and kettle and a safe that didn't work in the 1st room but was okay in the 2nd. The wifi was good and everything in the hotel seemed clean and in good repair. The only irritant was the a/c which was centrally controlled, couldn't be turned off (!) and couldn't have the temperature raised above 23oC. I was an ice cube within minutes and eventually won the concession of having my setting changed to allow the on/off switch to function. In the 2nd room I discovered that opening the door to the balcony resulted in the a/c switching off. What is that about? There was an ice machine near my first room which is the 1st that I have seen in the Guianas.

The hotel has a small but nice pool with a non-functioning pool bar. A good breakfast was served in a separate open building. We had 1 dinner in the restaurant which was somewhat odd. A small menu of mostly small dishes. Not cheap - possibly the upper end of standard for the city. My food was good and the bar prices seemed very reasonable. It was possible to pay by credit card which involved going down to the reception area that seemed to have the only card machine.

I liked this hotel, especially after the previous sub-optimal accommodation and would consider returning.

This hotel is in a central location in Paramaribo and has character. The grounds are simply beautiful, with a pool which looks out over the river. Be aware the rooms on the street side are a bit noisy. The rooms with "river view" are the best, but cost 25 USD extra. I think that is good value. The staff is amazing: friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is ok. Only real issue I had is with the coffee, which has the color and taste of dishwater (a.k.a. US coffee). They have an espresso machine in the restaurant in the main building, but only after 10 AM. Hence 4 stars out 5....

On tour with KE Adventure UK and local agent Wilderness Explorers so stayed twice in a week. First impression was total lack of empathy from reception staff and having to ask for help with luggage and finding room in distant third block on first floor (there was a lift/elevator). Room style 1960s and a bit tatty. Poor lighting. Tv had some English language channels. No tea/coffee supplies. Second impression, reception staff still unhelpful, room in first block on ground floor but still tatty and comments as before. Ate at restaurant second occasion; staff and food were okay.

The front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. They arranged travel to the airport the following morning and recommended a nearby restaurant to eat at. Upon returning after dinner, the bartender was friendly and made me feel at home. Overall, this is a nice place to stay with clean and quiet rooms.

It is an eco Resort but not really visible. Room was neat but ....... if you have a room where, through a connecting door a family room are made, ...... advice is not to sleep there. Super noisy when this is also used. You become an unwilling participant in too many sounds.
You can also use the other locations of Torarica for breakfast or pool which is not present here.
The breakfast is well catered for and has plenty of choice.

Personnel of the Toucan Bar/ Restaurant and breakfast-buffet are friendly and providing service. Shameful for the hotel that personnel of the reception is the opposite. The reception people are doing their routine but never with a smile nor friendly (extra) word. They don't know how or not willing to seek solutions when they obviously make a mistake, in this case concerning the transfer to the airport. In a very rude manner they told us we did everything wrong, wanted a freee ride. We ended up paying double for a misunderstanding that was partly their mix up. The guy even began to lie to safe his own face. Although the rest of the stay was ok, this debacle will make this time the last time we stayed at Eco.
The bathrooms are poorly constructed, so the shower wets the entire bathroom floor.

Stayed for four nights at the Eco Torarica for work. For the price I was not displeased. I really enjoyed the vibes of the facility having predominantly stayed at corporate level places in the past few years
Pros
1. Clean Room and comfortable bed
2. Breakfast options were adequate and very tasty
3. Location close to the other two Toraricas made going to business events there easy
4. The hotel can arrange transfers to and from the airport. I wish I had done the inbound one bc I paid half as much with the Eco Torarica to go the airport than I paid to come in.
5. Had dinner and drinks once at the Hotel's Bouganvillea Restaurant. Found the prices to be reasonable and food tasty
5. Receptive staff
6. Received a 1l bottle of water daily

Cons
1. Dated room
2. I really didn't like the bathroom but thats a personal preference. I found the shower stall to be small and the mixer to be a bit difficult to use to get the correct temperature. Didn't really like the smell of the provided shampoo and shower gel.

This is a kind of American motel. Balcony overlooking the parking lots, disinterested staff and neglected rooms with mold and loose curtains. Definitely too expensive, should cost no more than €60!!
There are hardly any guests so that doesn't make it any better.
The only nice thing is the old house at the entrance where you can also eat.

Neat hotel. There are three - located a short distance from each other - Torarica. This is the simplest. But everything is there. Nice room, swimming pool at the back of the complex, with towels. Breakfast buffet that occasionally falters (for example, coffee runs out and then it takes a while). You can also have breakfast at the next hotel upon presentation of your room card. It has a more extensive buffet and a larger swimming pool. The most expensive Torarica has breakfast a la carte (takes a long time) and the most beautiful swimming pool.

other than the streets the only area close by would be the area around the old fort which you reach by turning left coming out of the hotel than first left and the old fort is also on your left along side the river
