Central location with places to eat right across the road and within walking distance of only real museum in city Fort Zeelandia and presidential palace etc. Well decorated, good sized room and bathroom.Nice, white wooden furniture which brightens up room.Check-in super fast. Restaurant:dinner menu limited but food good.Shame no local food-Javanese or Surinamese offered.Wide choice at breakfast. Staff -polite and courteous and v.responsive.Seliah(?) was outstanding. He doubled up as concierge and practically everything else. A few probs-major one was strong drains/wet carpet smell in corridor on 4th floor.Went from bad to overpowering which filtered into room but luckily once the aircon was switched on it wasn’t so bad.The smell wasn’t on other floors though. Also my room was at the front of the hotel and on fri/sat nights a bldg across the road played very loud music into the early hours. In spite of this the basics are good at this hotel.

I stayed here for 6 nights. I order the same thing every night. WINGS. They make it dry with hot sauce on side. I told them on each order to shake wings in the hot sauce and each time i gave them instructions, they fail which causes delay on oder. Happened last night. took 3 times to get correct order in. bartenders and supervisors are great but staff and chef don't seem too. Unfortunate .

Just stayed for a week in Royal Torarica. The hotel is renovating at the moment. That goes not completely unnoticed, but the staff does everything to keep the nuisance as low as possible. They manage that pretty well. The hotel is mainly used for guest who are for business in Suriname. In the weekend there seems to be more local families who have something to celebrate. The renovated rooms are well equipped and clean. I can recommend a room facing the garden. The staff is very friendly and they are all willing to make it convenient for the guests. The garden is nice and quiet in contrast to noisy Paramaribo. If I return to Paramaribo I will definitely go to the Royal Torarica again.

My family and I stay at the RT to attend my sister’s wedding. The rate was extremely reasonable, the service was amazing and the rooms were clean and modern. The grounds were also quite beautiful, particularly the pier and tennis court area. I would recommend this hotel to anyone taking a trip to Suriname as the hotel is close to restaurants, historic sites, a beautiful palm garden and shopping. Thanks again to the RT for accommodating our large group. Hope to stay again in the near future.
