Located in a modern 3-floor building located on the same block as the Catholic cathedral. G24 has 23 rooms, 1-6 on the 3rd floor & 7-12 on the 21ndf floor. White walls & modern art decorated the building. There were some AC rooms. I stayed in #4 (non-AC). That room had 2 single beds with orange bed covers with blue pillow covers. There was a built-in closet with four large shelves & space for hanging clothes (with several hangers). No chair, but there was a stool. There was a cold water sink. There was 1 European power outlet. There was floor fan (the front protective screen was off) The room had a double window which opened to the creek side of the building. The first time I stayed there was a mosquito net for one of the beds, but the next time there was no net. Nearby there were 2 showers (warm water usually available) and 2 toilet stalls, and an additional sink. Wifi was included in your room rate, very good in the lounge area; weak on the third floor. The first floor is where the reception counter was located. Behind the counter was a staff only kitchen. There was a large open common room: there was a long table for dining; plenty of comfortable chairs and sofas, a great place to relax and have conversations. Interesting, the power outlets in the common room were USA types. This area also had a toilet and a staff only laundry room. Staff was generally helpful and knowledgeable. The Zuz&Zo is a partner guesthouse.

I recently stayed in guesthouse twenty4 and had a really positive stay. The guesthouse itself has a really nice feel to it. The rooms are basic but pleasant and the lobby area is a very nice area. They have lots of information and are generally helpful with booking taxis/recommendations etc. The reason I have rated them excellent is because on 2 occasions the staff went above and beyond my expectations. 1) the front desk is usually closed at 10pm however our taxi to the airport was due to come at 10:30pm so the man at reception stayed late so that we didn’t have to wait outside. (The taxi ended up coming at 11pm so he stayed a lot later than he should have!) 2) we missed our flight and had to try and book on to another flight the next day. The guesthouse let us keep our bags in a store room and use their WiFi to book our flight even though we had checked out the previous day. Both of These things made our lives a lot easier and we’re really appreciated!

Be careful of the souvenirs prices on the second floor, at their shop, supper high. Made the mistake of buying some local souvenirs, like necklaces and bracelets made of bids and seeds from the Amazon, just to discover later on that I can get them in town in a fancy store for less then half price. Their tour prices are very high, unfortunately you do not have too much options in finding tours in Paramaribo. A bicycle tour of 5 hours (which includes a break for simple lunch for 30-40 minutes) was 50 Euros ! Tour guide was very nice. Other then that, staff is friendly and it is a good place to meet other travelers.
