I usually look for hotels that are atmospheric & affordable ... I was lucky to choose this one ... my plan was to stay for a few nights to get to know the area & then move on ... but the comforts & gracious hospitality shown to me convinced me I was in the best place for my visit to Asuncion ... During my 2 weeks here, they really made me feel almost a member of their family ... If I ever return to Paraguay, I will begin my visit here ... I heartily recommend that you do also ... !!!

The hotel is set in a period, heritage property located a short walk from many sights and the popular dining places in town. It has been carefully restored, with little contemporary inserts, and preserves a fine atmosphere. The larger rooms have windows opening towards the street (French doors actually), so they can be a bit noisy, but this is the location and, at the end of the day, it is a small tradeoff to the great place (earplugs come handy if you are a light sleeper). Otherwise, the few rooms opening to the back are quieter (or those on the top floor). Staff were excellent, helpful, amusing, cheerful. Breakfast was plentiful and served with a smile. The price seemed right to me related to the service provided. A recommended place to stay in Asuncion.

Room Tip: Backside or top floor rooms are quieter, but 1st and 2nd floor ones are more characterful.

Lovely building in the old centre of Asuncion. We arrived at 7am from the overnight bus from Foz and were given immediate access to our room (which we hadn't expected). The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff very helpful and as it was 44'C outside, we can vouch for the effectiveness of the aircon! The main tourist sites are within walking distance in what felt to us a very safe and laid back city. We stayed 4 nights, which gives plenty of time to assimilate to the city (and the heat) and we particularly recommend the Museo de las Memorias recording the torture of political opponents of the dictatorship. Also if you can, try to go to a soccer match: the atmosphere at the one we attended at Olimpia was amazing.

Great hotel in the centre of Asuncion with real old world charm. Basic very spacious room with nice balcony, good breakfast. Staff are very helpful. One staff member (unfortunately I've forgotten his name) phoned several shops for us to help us find a football shirt for our grandson - successfully! Would recommend this placee - has a charm that you do not find in the chain hotels.
