Eating at The Pegasus is always a hassle during peak periods as the hotel is constantly out of cuttlery and crockery. Wait time for food is approximately 30 minutes. The menus are old and sometimes broken.

I have just left the Pegasus after the Jubilee celebrations. I was disappointed in the room for the money I paid, no breakfast included. The breakfast buffet is not worth the 23US dollars charged each morning it was choas trying to get breakfast, the staff were quite hostile at times as they were unable to cope with amount of guest.... Being the oldest upper class hotel in Guyana expectations were high. In other words I expected a WOW experience. It was disappointing from the start. Firstly one of our party arrived a full day ahead of time and was charged double occupancy and he was alone. We cleared that up at the front desk and proceeded to the room. Concierge... More

The Pegasus was a beautiful hotel, but there's not a chance I would recommend it to anyone going to visit Georgetown. They were extremely over priced, they changed $200 US per night! After we left Guyana we stayed at the Sheraton in Panama and we were only charged $115 per night. Much nicer hotel, much nicer city and much more... More

Dayon Peters who works at the Pegasus Hotel Guyana cafe. So I feature her because during the craziness with the Jubilee celebration n guests who can sometimes drive staff crazy this young lady kept her composure. So last Sunday I arrived for a meeting with our girls from the pageant n while I waited I stepped into the cafe to... More

Went for a weekday dinner with 10 in total and sat outside under the canopy by the pool. Only two other tables were occupied. We ordered mojitos and were told that they don't make those in the inside restaurant that we were part of, but only at the outdoor grill bar. So we asked him to get them from there... More

I know the Pegasus used to be the place to be seen, but I think those those are over. :/ With the Marriott in town, I'm sure there is stiff competition. Pros: -service was super friendly and convenient location to my conference -breakfast was elaborate and filling -gym area in the back -italian restaurant was delish! -oceanview room (basically of... Some people from the service had been very friendly but overall I experienced too many negative occasions: The airport pick up did not work (there was nobody there) The breakfast area was not clean (dirty floor) and only after some time they ask you if you want coffee I had to wait 20 min at the dinner poolside restaurant to... I visit Georgetown regularly on business and usually stay at the Pegasus. Getting a bit dated now despite recent room updates but the atmosphere and poolside entertainment make uo for that. Now having stiff competition with the new Marriot next door, the Pegasus needs keen prices to compete.

I haven't stayed at the Pegasus for many years. Last month we were back in Georgetown and had a number of meals there for nostalgia. The main dining room was smaller than I remembered it and less formal. The food was not as good and the choice was also lessened. Service was as usual for Guyana, only cursory. I love... More
