My daughter and I just spent 4 nights at Hotel El Virrey. It was in a very walkable location and we seldom took a taxi anywhere. Close to the Gold Museum, the University area, many great cafe's, etc. The rooms were nice, hot water showers, quite location for going to bed early. The staff was very nice. Breakfast was quite... This hotel is located just a few blocks from the Transmileno stop in the La Candeleria section of Bogota - and is only one block from one of the major active streets. While you are in the heart of it all, you do not hear any of the noise from the streets. It feels safe, and the rooms are small... More

This is definitely a boutique hotel that has seen better days. However, the rooms are clean, cozy and the beds are comfortable. Nothing fancy in the room, but the free wifi works great. The free breakfast is in the restaurant and you get your choice of either eggs, or fruit or cereal. If you order coffee with milk you are... More

Really enjoyed the tapas at this restaurant. Menu is not huge but what we tried was great. The octopus, Croketas and especially the Spanish tortilla were awesome. Had a great drink with awa ardiente that contained cinnamon and some citrus fruit that is awesome. If you like tapas its a great choice

This hotel was poor at best. I stayed in this hotel recently for 10 days for a work trip and their internet was not working the entire time. When asked staff said that they would have the problem fixed within 2-3 days and it turns out that they never had internet to begin with. Hotel was not very hospitable in... More

I only stayed here for one night on my way back to Holland. On my onward journey I had stayed also 1 night in Bogota, but in the Candalaria area. This was a kind of shabby area at night. Hotel Bogota Virey is situated in a far more modern and develloped and save area in Bogota. Good spacious and clean... More

For my trips to Bogota I always use this Hotel because it's located near mi company's office. Comfortable and clean. The restaurant it's very good, but the barman knows nothing about Gin tonic, Martinis or other cocktails. They have a very good breakfast with eggs, cereal, fresh bread and ham.

This hotel only has one phone line. It's really bad if you need to contact any person VIA telephone. Not even their email response is good. And later everyone's wonder why Bogota is in a 2rd world country

El Virrey manages to combine the very good, quite bad and mediocre but it’s the hotel’s location that swings the vote for me. Starting with the quite bad; the breakfast would fit this description perfectly. More than anything else, the breakfast was just miserly. When I’m on holiday, I want to stuff my face – either with a continental or... More
