Detailed Reviews
This hotel is located in a charming area of Bogota. Very quiet and safe. Just in the middle between park 93 and old downtown. Suites are very spacious, big living room, kitchenette, a full bath room and a extra separate toilet, bed room is very confortable as well. The stuff are very helpful. We fell a little weak is the common part. There is no pool, the gym is very mini, no top roof deck or garden where we can relax. But since the room rate is very good deal, we are very satisfy our stay in this place.

I have stayed here twice now for long stays and I would definitely recommend it. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. I was greeted by Gabriel Vargas when I arrived for the first time and he looked after me during both trips going above expectation helping me with all sorts of things and made me feel at home!
The bed is really comfortable, the breakfast is great and the hotel is in a perfect location in Zona G surrounded by lots of restaurants.

This is an excellent hotel, plain and simple and that is down to the wonderful staff and location. That is the reason I have stayed here 3 different times on 3 different trips to Bogota from the USA. The staff are extremely responsive and helpful and very personable. I had the pleasure of staying there and recieving help from Miguel Angel, Yeraldin, Ricardo, Gabriel, Leonardo, Lady, Herney and Yeison Camacho and they were all excellent. Would recommend this hotel to others and I hope you get a chance to meet these kind folks when you stay there.

Spent 5 nights in the Lugano Suites, and liked it very much. I've stayed in around a dozen hotels in Bogota, and after my first stay here, this is my new favorite. It's a pretty small hotel (36 rooms), and this ends up meaning that the service, which is excellent, is also very personalized. Most of the staff learned my name and preferences and didn't forget while I was there. Service was excellent. The suites were large, comfortable, and a great place for a short or a long stay. I used the gym (small, but functional) a few times, and also tried the massage service, which was very good. The breakfast was good (but not great), and the room service was timely and excellent. Wifi access was fast and worked well.
Only a few areas that could improve - the bed wasn't the most comfortable. This improved somewhat after two nights, when I remembered to request a different pillow, and that helped. A better mattress would help, though. Also, even though I was on the 7th floor, there was a lot of street noise in the early morning. Perhaps it was the acoustics caused be the surrounding buildings, as the hotel, while not on a major road, is quite close to two important and high-traffic roads. I don't know, but better, more sound-proof windows probably would help.
Great location for restaurants, as well - head over about 2 blocks to Zona G for a wide variety, or just walk down the street a block to La Despensa de Rafael, for a great meal. The hotel is also very convenient to a Carulla supermarket.
Enjoy! I intend to return.

Stayed two nights here recently and really enjoyed the hotel, Great Location and the staff was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. The suites were large and very comfortable. Very nice linens and towels. Well stocked kitchen and you could have easily cooked a meal. Safe neighborhood and they always had security or doorman at the front entrance. Only drawback to the experience, was the room charges and billing. And I don't mean to sound like I am faulting the hotel directly. Nothing on the bill was in English and there was no clear explanation of charges for us. English is not common there so I should not have expected the bill to be in English. It seems they charge a VAT similar to Europe that I have heard we did not need to pay. Also, any requests for the minibar appear to be a very high cost. We have even tried to get the final statement translated without much success. Very complex pricing structure for a simple two night stay. That being said, just pay attention and perhaps ask up front what type of charges to expect. I feel, that if we spoke Spanish, we could have gotten a good breakdown of charges.

Regarding The Vat, we do have a Resort Fee of 3USD we charge to ensure the security and medical services in Bogota. Regarding our bills we do not have them in English, but I have send your comments to the person in charge and we are loking if we can implement it in the hotel. We hope to welcome you back soon. +1
I chose this hotel after reading through hundreds of TripAdvisor reviews. I chose it because the staff always gets rave reviews and because the location is safe and very central. Additionally, I had the challenge of needing a 2 bed/2 bath with a terrace or balcony. Room 205 delivered on everything I needed for our 7-day stay.
PROS: the living room and master bedroom were a great size. The master bathroom was large enough to share. The terrace was a good place to get some fresh air. Our room service and breakfast attendant was so kind and sweet. Her name is Lady and she went out of her way to make our stay memorable. By the way, the food from room service was excellent: best burger I’ve ever had and the chicken wrap and steak were nicely done. The hotel is mostly wheelchair accessible - the doorman is always ready to open the doors (bathroom doorways are a bit tight for wheelchair access though). I felt I got what I paid for and more, particularly because the staff is great. VALUE was the best pro - I was very pleasantly surprised with my final bill.
CONS: We visited in late December/early January and it is COLD in Bogota. We had to ask for 2 heaters to warm up our rooms. The hotel is beginning to show its age, and although it is maintained very well, it does need some investment to ensure the exterior and some of the interior doesn’t fade. Although the hotel could not control this, the construction across the street was annoying because they started as early as 6:30 am and ended late.
Overall, I would most certainly return to Lugano Suites!

Elegant, relaxing, & filled with utterly warm kind staff, Lugano Suites in the nice Chapinero Neighborhood of Bogota was perfect. It starts with the staff's warm welcome. Adrian at the Front Desk was so down to earth, efficient, & very helpful with all our needs. The transportation staff were so much fun to talk to. Every time we caught a ride from them, they sparked amazing conversations about the city of Bogota, to dinning, to site seeing, to playing the game of Tejo. They were fully engaged with us. The suite we had was very nice, two bedroom, 2 baths, very clean, very quite, very trendy. The kitchen staff were very kind, serving delicious well balanced breakfast. Overall, we had a magnificent experience at Lugano Suites, a gem you most definitely should discover & experience in Bogota!

I'll start by saying that I would definitely stay at this hotel again. There were a few things that I will point out, in hopes that it will be helpful if those things are important to you. I will finish with the good things.
There are 3 room types: (superior suite, which is a studio; grand suite; business suite). I stayed in 2 of those types as they put me in the "superior suite" on the first night before I realized the next morning and changed rooms (I had booked the mid-range, grand suite). But, either there are differences within the room types, or the room descriptions are inaccurate. I found at least two major booking sites with the same inaccurate description. The description for my room type listed that it had a deep soaking tub and two bathrooms. Both rooms actually only had one bathroom and it had only a large shower stall with a bench to sit down. No tub. Without exaggeration, it took 5 or 6 minutes for the water to be warm enough to step in. After that, you could adjust it to very hot if desired.
There was no way to change the temperature of the room. No controls, nor any vents that I could see. The lighting in the bathroom was limited to 2 halogen spot lights over the sink, making it very dim at night, but fine during the day due to the portico window in the shower.
Things that were just ok: breakfast, fine if you just want an omelette, cereals or breads. The juices were better than average, though. A few other buffet items that changed daily, but only a very small amount out.
The good:
* very friendly staff. The security guards, the desk staff, kitchen staff. Probably the cleaning staff, too, but I didn't interact with them.
* The view was very good, at least for the last 3 nights in the room on the 8th floor.
* The suites are huge and nicely decorated. Plenty of closet space.
* The rooms have a boom box, that plays both CDs and cassette tape. Bring your mix tapes!
* There is a basket with things like toothpaste, full sized toothbrush, deodorant, etc, but they are not free as another reviewer stated. The price list is next to them.
* The hotel is located on a quiet street that is a safe and an easy walk to restaurants or stores nearby.
Note: if you use the hotel's car service to the airport, the cost is USD$50. If you have them call a radio taxi for you it is only COL25,000 (USD $12.50, currently)
