The Hotel Capital is located in Bogota’s business district, a few kilometres from the airport. It is Calle 25B, so it is just around the corner from the main thoroughfare that runs toward the airport but is sheltered from the noise, and is really rather quiet. Bogotá is a very large and busy city and it is nice to be close to amenities but still in a location that feels calm. The best way to get to other parts of the city is by taxi; I do not know the public transit system and didn’t get to try it out on this visit.
A friend in Bogotá recommended the Capital for my four-night stay. The room rate, through Booking.com, was quite reasonable, and substantially less than I paid at a nearby chain hotel.
There are other large hotels nearby, lots of restaurants and coffee shops. There are several shopping centres nearby, including the quite new Plaza Claro.
My fourth-floor room was not very large, but it was pleasant. There is a balcony area if you want some fresh area. The bathroom was nicely laid out, and the modern shower had lots of hot water, which doesn’t always happen.
Everything in my room worked. The wireless was good. The single large window had a good blind that completely darkened the room when lowered.
I used the bar several nights for drinks and a sandwich. The included breakfast was quite good, with breakfast items that I have had at other hotels in Bogotá. There is another restaurant on the main floor that is being renovated, so it was not available.
Service at checkin and checkout was good. There is a shuttle service that runs on the half-hour, although I do not know the starting and end times.
I am giving the Capital 5 out of 5 because even though it is perhaps not the most luxurious or prestigious hotel, it is excellent value for the money and met my needs perfectly.
So given the positive experience I had, I would be happy to come back, and I would recommend the Capital to others.

I can not say better things about this hotel. We were staying overnight with our baby and they had our room ready with a crib and a tub, even with a bucket so we could bath our baby. Everybody treat us very nicely.
When we got to the airport we called and they sent the shuttle to pick us up very promptly. Also, when we left we forgot our baby's pillow and we called and they sent it in the shuttle but we were very busy doing the check in we were not able to meet the driver outside. Well, he went above and beyond the call of duty and went inside the airport and found me and hand delivered it to me. I was not expecting any of that. They made our first trip with the baby very easy.
Also food in the restaurant is delicious and at a good price. You wont be wrong by choosing this hotel for your stay

My sister and I stayed here for a few nights at the beginning of our Colombia trip after having been recommended the area by a friend. The area itself had a number of options for dinner, and a convenience store nearby which we found handy for buying things like water. We did a tour one day, and had friends show us around Bogota the other day so we didn't use the public transport, but it was located close by.
The free airport shuttle is a massive bonus, as the last thing you want to do when arriving in a foreign country when you don't have great Spanish is have to negotiate a cab fare. The shuttle both ways was very prompt.
The staff all spoke good English at the hotel, which we very much appreciated given our limited Spanish. The breakfast was good with plenty of options, and cooked to order eggs.
The room itself was clean, shower worked well etc. There was a little bit of noise, as we had the window open, but not enough to disturb our sleep. It is amazing how there is constant traffic all night though. My only negative is around the temperature of the room, it was incredibly warm, and despite our best efforts to adjust the temperate down it stayed very warm which did make sleeping quite difficult. The hotel itself was quite warm throughout.
I would consider staying here again, but I'd want a room considerably cooler than the one we had as i feel the heat.

Need to have a minimum one fan. not every night are cool in Bogota i was hot all night the windows are to small and don't have sufficient cool air in my room. more of the free drinking water the only one bottle of water can not make even coffee with out paying for the water more that Juan Valdez.

Bad customer service, unfriendly staff , nobody can speak English . A lot of miscommunication between one shift with other . The room didn’t have running hot water when we address the issue to the front desk they said is full house and the water comes from the basement. No refrigerator and either drinking water in the room . We have been placed by Avianca flying company without options and they highly recommended as a five star hotel . You can remove the other 4 stars . I know we got vouchers for food and service but food was disgusting… overall the worst experience we had as travelers in one of the most beautiful country so far . Shame for this hotel and their unpleasant staff . Get them trained properly…

I stood there two nights and wanted to leave after 2 hours of being there.
The receptionists are mediocre, they seem tired like they just woke up and are reluctant to put the effort in assisting their guests.
The waiters are not attentive, one female hostess was clinging on to a waiter laughing away while I waited for my coffee and juice, my food got cold as I watched this sharade.
There is no shower gel, no coffee machine, no cups, no airconditioning unit or heating and this is suppose to be a 4.5 star hotel???
You feel clusterphobic inside as the windows are not made to open at all, looked like a prison.
I complained to the manager and she got defensive.
I would not stay here ever again, neither should you.

One of the best places to stay if you need to spend a few nights in Bogota near the airport. Efficient shuttle to and from the airport (it's free, runs every 30 minutes and takes about 5-10 minutes to drive). Efficient shuttle to and from the airport (it's free, runs every 30 minutes and takes about 5-10 minutes to drive). Nice and quick welcome check-in & check-out process, clean room, safe area with some restaurants nearby, a large shopping mall 10 minutes walk away, correct size room and bathroom, clean facility and good bed, basic breakfast but with some excellent products such as omelettes made on request, typical caldo or fresh local fruit. This was a great hotel for an overnight stay after arriving at Bogotá El Dorado in the evening. The airport transfer shuttle was very efficient with someone at the reception to help with information. The hotel was modern clean efficient and comfortable. Good breakfast also. I will recommend this to anyone who is going to Bogota

Very nice hotel in proximity to the airport. Friendly service from all personnel. The hotel even offered an excellent shuttle service and very late check out (6pm) at no cost. Excellent option for those traveling late.
