I was hesitant to book this hotel because of some of the reviews but I am so happy I booked it anyway. I will most certainly be back. The area around the hotel is safe and fantastic. Packed with excellent restaurants (Maraflor and Osaki are two examples), nightly entertainment, high end shopping mall, 24 hour groceries, cafés and more! I was so delighted in almost every way. I stayed in the best suite and it was packed with features: 2 person hot tub, living room with a fireplace, office area, kitchen area with full size refrigerator, safety deposit box, television, beautiful and large bathroom. They have an underground parking lot which was amazing, despite some minor issues (see below)! And the kitchen staff really sealed the deal for me. Carolina in the restaurant spoke English and was so sweet and accommodating. I told her I was vegetarian and every morning she offered to make me meat-free scrambled eggs. The food choices are plentiful, delicious and the coffee did not disappoint! The negatives are as follows and are all minor: 1- the staff at the front desk was hit and miss in terms of speaking English but with a translator app it was fine. 2- the parking lot is a bit difficult to get in and out of because the door is controlled manually by the staff and there are lots of pillars which can be a challenge when there are a lot of cars in it. 3. The shower water pressure was mediocre but on a positive note the water stayed hot for a long time. 4. At night the outside sounds of partying and in the morning the traffic noise was a bit too loud but with a cheap pair of ear plugs I slept great. I don't agree with the negative reviews at all. The staff was happy to replace my 2 towels whenever I asked and the building looked inviting from the outside. Inside, everything was clean and the upper floors are accessible by elevator. I do not feel that it is in need of renovations.

Used to be a nice boutique hotel but they are letting it go and don’t even perform the smallest tasks to keep it nice Just one towel per person . Towels were old and need replacement. Some outlets in the room do not work. Light in the bathroom broken for 2 days . One day coffee in the room , second day no coffee. Breakfast used to be good couple years ago. Now tiny buffet! Coffee was finished at 9.30 am. 2 guys standing around but don’t see anything. No coffee spoons on the table All the salt shakers were empty Frontdesk back drop needed a paint job Clear that the management is not paying attention to detail Too bad. Could be a nice spot

I really wanted to love this little hotel. It is in a great location, and the people are nice. However, we just had too many insurmountable problems. Starting with the good: the breakfast is decent, a buffet with fruits, bread, eggs cooked to order, soup and an entrée of the day that rotates. We saw, tamales, calentáo (Colombian dish of rice, beans and sausage) and arepas. He bed was warm and comfortable, the room we had was spacious and even had 2 balconies a kitchenette sink, and a small refrigerator. They gave us a nice assortment of shampoos and soap for the bathroom in a box that looked like a gift pack. However… In our room, several of the electrical plugs didn’t work, even though all the circuit breakers were properly set. The coffee maker wouldn’t stay on. You turn it on, and it shuts off after about a minute. Possibly because of something in the electrical system. There were several spiders in the bathroom, and spiderwebs on the ceiling, The first night was uneventful, no problems. But on our second day of a 4 day stay, the water suddenly cut off mid-shower. When the water finally came back on, it had an awful smell reminiscent of a wild animal carcass. It was unbearable, and the water from the shower head slowed to a trickle. That evening we told the front desk. The desk attendant showed us a different room, but when I turned on a shower there, the water came out muddy brown.Their solution was offer us a key to still another different room, but no help to move or belongings, not even a cart. We used the shower in the alternative room, but kept our original. Normally the water in Bogotá, and most of Colombia’s cities is perfectly safe to drink. We live in Medellín and use water with no filtration necessary so this problem is specific to this hotel. We filled up an empty water bottle with water from the tap and within minutes, a layer of dark sediment settled in the bottom. GROSS! The hotel sent a maintenance person up to our room the next morning. He removed the shower head and it was so full of crud that he scooped it out with his finger. After that, the shower worked fine again, though I wasn’t too enthusiastic about showering in that kind of water. Extremely disappointed.

Clean, quiet. I had a small suite with desk, couches. My hiking group company selected the hotel. Odd the front desk had no city maps or even maps of the vicinity for guests. Not great given no little shop near by to buy one.

an excellent hotel in a very safe area of Bogota. We landed during some political unrest but experienced very little of it during our stay here in this location. The owner Felipe and his mother took excellent care of us. They advised where to go, where to avoid and helped find us taxi drivers to take us on excursions despite the unrest. I have never come across such helpful people! Breakfast was good and the staff and very friendly. English is spoken by Felipe and his mother but few other - not that this was a problem. I would stay here again as its a great location with great people. A tip would be to book an upgraded room. The older rooms have older decor so pay extra for the modern facilities. Other than that the room was cleaned every day and it was a great stay.

This hotel feels more like a small residential building than a hotel. Our rooms were large and comfortable. One room had recently been renovated very stylishly. The other room had not been renovated in over a decade but was still in good shape. The television sets are a bit small for the size of the rooms. The hotel is near Parque 93 but in a residential area, surrounded by small buildings. It is safe and quiet outside. The acoustics inside the hotel are not that good, since it has an open courtyard and the noise reaches most of the rooms in the lower levels. Breakfast is adequate. There is also a small issue with smells from the kitchen filtering up to the rooms. Luckily the smells are good. The cleaning services are not too reliable, sometimes taking a very long time to finish cleaning the entire hotel. The rooms have good amenities. The shower in the unrenovated room worked perfectly., In the renovated room it was either super cold or super hot. The shower design in the renovated room allows water to filter all over the bathroom. The hotel's personnel is fantastic. Always ready to help. Promptly meeting all requests and greeting the guests with smiles. The price we paid was good for what we got. This is a good place for longer stays such as ours.

This hotel has large, clean well equipped rooms and is close to Parque 93 for bars and restaurants. Good safe area to stay in but a 20 minute taxi ride to central Bogota. Be aware the Casa Real sign outside does not actually say it is a hotel and it looks like many of the nearby blocks of flats.

The staff of the reception, particularly during the night was incompetent and really rude. Our fridge was making an awful noise. They laughed at us for pointing it out and only tried to fix it because we kept insisting. The beer in the mini bar was stale and had white pieces of something floating around. When we were asked not to be charged for the bottles we opened, the night receptionist again laughed at us. I even think he was high because his eyes were red and he wouldn't stop laughing. Really horrible service. The bathrooms weren't that clean. Most of the lamps didn't work and there was insects in the lamps of the hall... We asked for them to put rose petals and champagne and they went to get them at the last minute, we had to wait in front of the door for 30 minutes for them to set it up in front of us. The food from the restaurant wasn't good, we ordered brownie with ice cream and it was as hard as a rock but at least the kitchen staff were much nicer.

Dear Aguafania, We appreciate your comments because they help us improve our service. What you mention about the night staff is a little bit strange. It is possible that they do not speak English and would not completely understand your request? Not everyone who serves in the evening is bilingual. As for the bathrooms and lamps, we are going to check on what you are saying. Thanks for keeping your eyes on details.
