We arrived in Bogotá and got a taxi straight to Hotel Muisca for about £8, it is situated in the historic and beautiful 'La Candelaria' district just up the hill from Plaza de Bolivar. Unfortunately, we must have picked up flu on the way to Colombia and we were sick for the five days we spent in Bogotá - despite...

Helpful and pleasant small Hotel on the edge of Candelaria. Arranged taxi pick-up from the airport and delivery to Hotel at 3:45 am, all went smoothly. Small but clean compact room, ideal for one. Staff friendly and helpful. It is at the end of a steep hill.

I stayed at the hotel for two nights with a friend of mine and I was extremely pleased of our choice. The hotel was cosy and very comfortable. There is a very nice terrace and two breakfast areas in style. Rooms are a bit small, but clean and well-furnished. Breakfast was freshly cooked every day, with your choice of eggs,...

Thank you for your comment and we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We feel sorry about what happened to your friend. We are always working to improve security over the neighborhood, but unfortunately this kind of issues still could happen. Sorry again.

It started with the price, when I booked my reservation I called to make sure everything was in order, I asked if the price shown to me was final and they said yes, when I arrived the charged me a 16% tax that was supposed to be included. When I asked for my room they told me that the check...

We stayed here 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is up a steep street so be prepared. Once you do it a few times it doesn't seem so bad. We had room 14 which was up 2 floors with no lift. There was a spiral staircase to our room which made it a little hard with luggage. But...

This is one of the most charming hotels we have ever stayed in! The good: AWESOME service! Delicious breakfast and coffee. Good wifi. It is within walking distance of everything. The bad: If you have issues walking - it is located on a steep hill. I fell the first day, 2 doors down, but I do tend to trip on...

Very helpful and friendly staf, even before arrival helpful with organizing taxi service from the airport. We stayed for 5 days in a 4 person family room (upstairs) with our 2 teenage daughters, which was perfect for our cultural quests of the great city of Bogota. To bad the wifi connection was insufficient in our room. The hotel is situated...

Nice, well located hotel with big cozy rooms. Loved The decor, that told the stories of The muiscas, original people from that area. It has a great solarium, perfect for beer and wine at The sunset! Close to restaurants, but not a good option for elderly or people with lomocotion limitations.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
OUR HOTEL The first Theme Hotel on the Bogota's historic center is built after a careful restoration of a sustainable house with more than 200 years of history. The simplicity and functionality of the New Granada architecture are expressed in a modest front door with balcony and wood crafts, tiles and clay tiles, brick stone walls and santafereños patios decorated with railings, columns, windows, arches, fountains flowers and gardens. In this sense, the Hotel Muisca synthesized in its content and designs the colonial architecture and the ancient America, as an homage to Muisca-Chibcha nation that is part of the five great ancient cultures (Maya, Inca, Aztec and Jungle). OUR ROOMS The hotel consists of three levels with thirteen (13) rooms in Simple, Twin, Double accommodation and Groups from 3 to 6 persons. Amenities in our rooms are: unlimited free local calls and national and international collect calls, LCD TV 32" with cable TV, Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel, security box service, 24 hours room service to purchase products from the mini bar menu and conveniences menu, environmentally friendly heating in all rooms and common areas with fireplaces. SERVICES. Our Hotel has two patios, coffee, lounge, spa, terrace and permanent exhibition areas, all of which represents the Muisca territory, mythology and art. Moreover, the hotel has a great location in the traditional Candelaria District, an ancient holy place for the Muiscas ancestors which is now known as the epicenter of historic, economic, cultural and governmental center of the city, surrounded by parks, monuments, theaters, museums, churches, libraries, restaurants, bars and universities. Likewise, the Candelaria offers a unique atmosphere of tranquility and calm into the hectic life of a great city. ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN. Objects such as lamps, grills, pots, beds, tables, and others inspired by the Muisca art, have been uniquely designed to bring life to the hotel, and have been mixed with colonial elements carefully restored such as windows, balconies, doors, creating unique spaces who wish to generate interest in our visitors about our culture and history. Briefly, we offer a unique experience of wellness, culture and design. ... more   less
