Musicology Hostel has been one of the few hostels in Bogota that has a long-term tradition. Now, a renewed and refurbished Musicology has opened its doors again to offer new experiences for travelers. Our beautifully-restored colonial house has two patios and hammocks to chill out in. We offer a fully-equipped bar and lounge with reasonably-priced food and drinks, in addition to a daily happy hour. We also offer a common room to watch movies, hang out and free use of DSL internet on our public computers. WiFi is also available at no charge throughout the entire hostel. We recently installed soundproofing in the bar, so you can enjoy our excellent speaker system, while simultaneously enjoying a peaceful rest. All of our breakfast options include unlimited colombian coffee, tea, fresh fruit juice. On our menu, you may choose between such options as fresh croissants, eggs, pancakes, waffles, fruit plates, oatmeal and traditional arepas, toasted with farmers cheese for very reasonable prices. We offer free towels, local calls, use of our guest kitchen, a book exchange, free and secure luggage storage for as long as you need, complimentary use of hostel facilities after check-out time and early check-in at no charge if your room or bed is available. Also, we have laundry service at the hostel. Our reception is 24/7 and there is no curfew or lockout. In addition to the high-quality services we provide, we also pride ourselves in our ecological principles. We are among a handful of hostels in Bogota that recycles; wood used in the hostel from our furniture, to our bunk beds to the bar, and the reception comes from demolition sources. Our amazing staff will be more than happy to assist you with your onward travels, advice on what to do in Bogota and just about anything else you need, so come stay at Musicology and let the music rock your soul!!!

My friend and I stayed there for a couple of nights. This is what we found: - At la candelaria; dark to be careful at night, close to the touristical sites and safe during the day. - VERY NOISY; the hostel has a bar/club inside and they had the music bumping next to our room

When I first got into Bogota my taxi driver didn't even know where this was but upon arriving I was impressed with the hostel. Beds were clean, soft and warm and the staff was very friendly. It's close to everything in the city center and it had this hidden feeling that made it

Stayed 2 nights at Musicology, 1 in a dorm, 1 in a single room. Dorm fine, beds a bit creeky and annoyingly no plugs next to beds which a lot of South American hostels have (useful for alarms...) Also locker was broken. Doors are bit difficult as well to the rooms so perhaps

A good budget spot near most places you'd need in Bogotá or easy enough to get anywhere you'd need. A bit disorganised and kitchen could be better equipped but rooms were pretty clean and everyone there was super friendly so a good start to Colombia overall.

"Personally I enjoy my own bath, so spend the extra couple dollars for a 4 person room."
"Reception is sometimes fairly noisy at night so if you want a good sleep go for a room further away"
"I stayed in the smaller private and it was not much more than a dorm. If you like a little privacy, but still hangout this the way to go."
