I just completed a 2 night stay here. I can't rave enough about the property. The staff was all very friendly. I used one of my Suite night upgrades and was very happy that I did. The suite that we got was very spacious. I actually booked two rooms as we were traveling with our 3 children (2 of them teenagers). I wanted a connecting room but they didn't have any but they put us in two rooms across from each other which worked perfectly. The only thing to complain about was the AC didn't work well in the bedroom of our first suite. (#324). Bogota is usually not that hot but it was very hot while we were there. And the bedroom wouldn't cool down to more than 21.5 degrees C. They came twice but said they couldn't fix it. We sucked it up the first night but the next day they moved us over to a corner suite #316 which was awesome and got very cool. The other room #327 everything worked fine. I'm a Platinum Elite so I got access to the Club Lounge on the 9th floor and got breakfast each morning at the buffet for me and my family. Both were awesome. The Club lounge was great as they had many types of drinks (they will allow you to get 2 alcohol drinks) and you could take bottles do your room. They had a lot of delicious food throughout the day. At dinner they had a wide assortment of food. The location is fabulous just about 15 minute walk to the Zona T. Traffic is HORRIFIC in Bogota so important that you stay in a good area. Ubers were very easy to get from the hotel and we never waited more than 5 minutes for an Uber and they were relatively inexpensive. The breakfast buffet in the lobby level was terrific with many assortment of food and made to order eggs however you liked. I'd definitely stay here again on a future trip to Bogota. The staff was all very friendly.

I have stayed at the JW Marriott Bogota for several times over the years during my work trips to Bogota, but this particular review concerns my most recent stay, for two nights in November 2022 – which helped cement my views about this property that will likely lead me to search for other lodging options in the future. I booked this stay through a travel advisor that secured me a Marriott Luminous special rate. This was supposed to come with perks such as space-available upgrades, a welcome amenity and early check-in/late check-out. However, the hotel failed to deliver as I never received the welcome amenity and there was no upgrade - a club level room was flat-out denied by the front desk staff upon checking in even though the Marriott Bonvoy app showed plenty of availability for those dates. I was told instead that “free” club access wasn’t provided and I’d have to pay extra to use it. I didn’t get the chance to try the early check-in/late check-out due to my work commitments, but the failures on the other aspects of the Luminous experience did leave a bad taste in my mouth. The base-level room I got was of good size and was kept very clean by housekeeping. But the décor is very dark and a little bit past its prime, maybe it’s time for some renovations there. Other point for improvement is the in-room coffee machine; only a drip coffee one is available, but an espresso machine is a basic requirement for a hotel at this price point. No turndown service was provided. There is only one restaurant open during workdays, which is expensive for Bogota standards but provides decent international lunch/dinner fare (note - before the pandemic there were two other dining options at the hotel: one pizza place and an Asian fusion restaurant, both of them very good). The breakfast buffet is expansive and made-to-order eggs are available too (even if they are not proactively offered by the waiting staff). Service was a hit or miss, as every interaction with the front desk staff (after the upgrade denial snafu) was perfectly pleasant but the waiting staff was too slow to take orders, deliver meals and provide coffee refills (on breakfast). But the worst part of the experience was the pricing: considering the dated rooms, average (at best) restaurant and the service issues, the JW Marriott was absolutely not worth the USD450 nightly rate. It is more than twice what is charged by the Hilton that is just around the corner, and nothing justifies that, in my opinion. So all things considered, I’ve probably had enough and likely won’t return. This hotel charges way too much for an average (at best) experience, and the JW Marriott also failed to deliver on the promised Luminous benefits. I’ll look for another options for my next trip to Bogota.

Be sure to get access to the concierge club. The food is enough for dinner, the booze top shelf and the servers extremely friendly and helpful. This hotel is over the top on all accounts. I had, as usual, a 2:00AM flight back to the states and the front desk suggested we rest in the concierge club rather than the lobby even though we checked out earlier that day.

We stayed at the JW Marriott for a combination business/pleasure trip and could not have been happier. The location is fantastic, the property is beautiful and the service was excellent and very friendly. Our reservation included breakfast which was FABULOUS. Lots of fresh fruits, local offerings and also traditional breakfast fare. The service at breakfast was exceptional. Servers were warm and friendly and very attentive. The Spa is also lovely! Highly recommend the JW Marriott Bogota!

The staff was constantly attentive and ready to accommodate our needs. It offers a pleasant and easy walk to many places and the dining room offers very good food. The décor is contemporary which suits the building. The elevators are on the smaller side but enough space to use them. I’d go back.

This is a quintessential Marriott property, with all you expect from the finest of their line of hotels. Staff is AMAZING. Attention is INCESSANT. Property is IMMACULATE. Location is great, lounge is terrific, restaurant is DELICIOUS, and on and on. No complains. The rooms are large and have excellent house keeping and room service. The executive lounge is large, clean, well stocked, and staffed with amazing people (one young man sat with my 18 year-old, headed-to-college son and had am AMAZING and HELPFUL conversation about studying, leaving home, life, etc). Humility and servitude remain a STRONG cornerstone at this facility. Absolutely a wise hotel choice in Bogotá.

The hotel has large and nice rooms, it's a very pretty hotel, the housekeeping was outstanding and it's in a good location. The club lounge was also a nice amenity. The hotel has tons of protentional, but the staff isn't very friendly or accommodating. If you want to feel "welcomed" this is not the hotel for you from my five-night experience. I'm Titanium/Lifetime Platinum and I did receive an upgrade to the club level but none of the junior suites showing available.

JW Marriott is a rather recent hotel (10 to 15 years old) that was probably very luxurious when it opened. Small flaws have occurred since, probably due to not high enough construction standards (noisy plumbing in bathroom) or too old equipment (mattress quality).

I am writing this review as warning to customer to review their bill whit attention to detail. I was over charged in the stated rate due to a glitch in the system. After contacting the hotel I was told that a refund was going to be processed. Its been 2 and a half months and nothing has happened. I wrote emails to management team and no answer was provided. They simply ignored my messages. Now after many times trying to contact management I was told that due to another problem in the system my refund was not processed. Do you really want to stay in a hotel were there is no customer service or were the customer is ignored after a problem? Do you want to stay in a hotel were they overcharged you and there is nobody to give you a solution? I believe there is a problem with customer service and ethics with this hotel. Errors and mistakes can occur, is they were they are handled the problem, and this situation was not handled properly.
