I had a two week stay in Bogota and decided to stay with the JW. All seemed will until five nights into my stay. I was having drinks with some local friends and the bar was closed. We decided to enjoy some conversation in the suite instead of the lobby. Upon their arrival right away they were accosted by security. Not even allowed to the lobby. A law student who’s mother works for the president and marketing professional treated like common prostitutes at a five star hotel. This could have been done in a professional manner, but not at the JW. I signed a registration form expecting this treatment to be done. After I signed it I was informed I would be billed $300USD ($150 each). Now. First of all my room allowed an extra guest and second of all if I was to have a third the charge according to my rate would be $80 not $150. I told the man at the front desk this was unacceptable and I’d be happy to take my business elsewhere immediately. He said that I would not be charged. I checked my bill a day later and low and behold it was there $300USD. I spoke with a manager to explained that she posted the charge. I told her o was lied to and asked politely that It be fixed right away. After around 20 minutes of my time wasted. She agreed to take one off (which shouldn’ t have been there in the first place) Also according to the GM take the $150 down to $100 even though according to my rate it should be $80 All in all I was lied to. Management makes zero effort to resolve issues and the General Manager is complacent in this activity. My credit card was charged against my will. I did check out and the hotel lost over $1000 in revenue to the Hilton. Around the corner. The hotel is racist against Colombian citizens and treats its loyal (platinum member) guests poorly. Although a lovely property it lacks the customer service you expect in a five star hotel. Avoid it and stay elsewhere. Imagine if they treated your wife or daughter like a prostitute because of the color of her skin.…
The JW in bogota was great! It was our first time in Colombia and our first stop and as two female travelers, we wanted to pick somewhere safe. The staff was welcoming and even helped us make dinner reservations and book transportation. The breakfast in the lounge was amazing. I wanted to share the info of one of our drivers as well because he was so nice, a safe driver and punctual!
A beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff. As a Marriott Elite member I always at the Marriott because of the amenities and service. I had a suite upgrade for this trip and it was a nice experience. Yohanna is excellent at her job and makes sure your stay is perfect. Executive lounge is a plus and the staff was wonderful. Great gym with spinning bikes! Front desk made arrangements for the COVID tests to be done in the room and we had the results in 10 minutes and the official travel copy a few hours later. Perfect.
We stayed two nights at the JW Marriott in Bogotá. The room (upgraded to a suite) was nice and modern. The breakfast was excellent t with a big selection of choices. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint relates to the Marriott loyalty scheme where for some reason my stay is not properly recorded despite numerous exchange of emails with the hotel.
Impressive hotel with wonderful room service with those added touches. You could arrive without a doc kit and they have all basic hygiene needs so hats off to JW. They did a special Super Bowl set up and great drink special. Maria in the restaurant is super sharp. Nice small eateries nearby as well. I will be back and great job.
We really enjoyed having dinner buffet on Christmas Eve. There were a wide range of delicious food, cocktails dessert. The staff working at the lounge were also friendly and very attentive. But the food they served in the morning and at the lounge wasn't that good. We thought we can have some local and warm food but they were mostly common American style dishes. And plus, the sauna room for women wasn't hot enough to get some sweat. I think no one cares about the sauna room.
Stayed 3 nights total. 2 on the way in and one on the way out of Colombia. It's still Covid season so services were impacted. But not a big deal. The nest thing was the lounge for dinner at the end of my trip to Colombia. I arrived thinking I was going to go out for dinner and was craving Mexican food or pizza. Surprise! The club lounge had nachos, chili con carne, make you own tacos, chicken stew and other assorted snack foods. Oh, and quesadillas! To say it satisfied my need for Mexican food would be putting it mildly. I ddn't even have room for dessert. It was a vert welcome spread. So much nicer than the Marriott Medelin - but it IS a JW so it's kind of expected!
This hotel has all the creature comforts you would expect from a Marriott property but not much else. It has a practical location in the heart of the city’s business district. If you are looking for a predictable stay in a major chain with no surprises but also no frills than this is a solid choice. Staff were friendly and attentive!
I have stayed at the JW Marriott Bogota over half a dozen times for work and personal trips and I continue to be impressed by the consistent and exceptional service. Over my many trips, I have gotten to know the staff well (Camila, Camilo, Genesis, James, Javier, Oscar, Saymar) and want to call out their amazing, friendly, warm and genuine service that they provide me. The hotel and the rooms are clean and modern. House keeping and room service are consistently efficient and responsive and the front desk do an excellent job of staying on top of the chat request via the app. Thank you for making the JW Marriott Bogota a home away from home for me. You have an amazing team and I look forward to my next return trip.
Sugey and Yuliana were so courteous and professional. Everyday they made my room spotless and the bed seamless. They really treated room like a home away from home. I was very impressed with their service, they should be commended for their work ethic and commitment to excellence! The hotel is outstanding all around.
