I stayed at Martinik for several days and I would definitely stay here again. Not only is it in a great part of town, but the place is extremely cozy and attracts some really special travelers. The staff is top notch and even though it is inexpensive, they also offer breakfast too. Recommended for budget travelers who want to feel... More

Hostal was great! Right in the old city, brilliant value for money! I stayed here twice and each time was BRILLIANT. Staff are super friendly and helpful! The cleaners are amazing they kept the place as spotless as they can!! Nice TV room with good selection of channels! Also a nice chill out area by reception 😊 A block away... More

NOT a party hostel. A sanctuary for a lone traveler. Situated so well for History and Culture, which fitted my situation really well. I'm an older guy who needs security and good sleep. And wifi connection to everywhere most of the time. Rooms and facilities are CLEAN (wow I admire those domestic girls). Atmosphere both private and of a friendly... More

If you are visiting Bogota and are looking for a quiet place to relax, maybe writing, working or find inspiration this is a good place to stay. If you want to party, then choose another hostel. I stayed in a private room. It was very simple but the bed was alright and it was clean. The owner, a woman from... More

This hostal has everything I'm looking for when looking for a good hostal. -Very affordable, probably the most affordable hostal I've ever stayed at. -Fantastic location, surrounded by lots of interesting areas, restaurants, tourist attractions, history, and very safe. -Very friendly and helpful staff. -Hot showers, free breakfast, laundry services, and good internet. -Good kitchen, library, rest areas, and comfortable... Absolutely terrible. Came back with a Colombian girl, one I have known for a while. They would not allow her in. I then got accused by the crazy yank owner in the morning that I was bringing prostitutes to her hostel!!!! And that I was smoking cigarettes in the room, which I hadn't, I had brought an ashtray in from... More

The hostel has clean rooms. But the room was very dark. Even switching on the light didn't make a huge difference. The staff was helpful. The location is good and the Breakfast was ok but not great. During the night it was quiet.

Arrived late at night in dark, drizzly BG, and from the moment I stepped through the doors I loved it and felt safe and welcome instantly, which as a solo female traveller is much appreciated. Mind-blowing wi-fi which I was not expecting and found difficult to come across elsewhere in South American hostels, plus some goooooood free tinto in the... More

Come here. It's so cheap for a dorm. Free coffee is real good. Next to a top pizza place run by Italian. Real close to town. Safe feeling. Good chill out area. Nice staff. Hammock. Good shower - warm. Only thing is that the pillows are shi*te. Need to sort that out! But do stay here. Laters

Awesome review, thanks so much. And I will tell Claudio (the pizza guy) about this review, he will be very pleased to know he was mentioned. Regarding the pillows, I will be changing them shortly, just give me a bit of time. Thanks and have an awesome trip. More

Impressed by the high ranking on ta and the name of the hostel I booked two nights. The only two good points I have observed are the friendly staff and the well equiped facility. However the building is not suitable for a hostel because there are no sealed windows in the dorm bedroom, just a shutter which allows noise and... More

Hi there, sorry you did not like the hostel. I am Canadian, the old owners were Swiss, hence the name. I imagine you thought this meant you would find Europena standards here in Bogota for a super low price when what you found was a 300-year old Colonial house, which is the typical style house you will find in the...
