I have stayed here regularly over a 20 year period but haven't been back for 7 years. It's proximity to the Prado and the university make it still worth using. The noise from the traffic during the day is wearing but the rooms are adequate and staff service quite good. Breakfast is just about OK but the one lunch I...

This hotel is located in the nice and safe area of Sopocachi, La Paz. The building is on a busy downtown street, near the Paseo del Prado. It is about a 10-minute walk to the main square. There is 24-hour reception available. Staff was very friendly. They arrnaged breakfast and an early morning taxi to the airport for me at...

An ok hotel near the central plaza estudiantes and the Prado. Once a fancy business hotel, now a bit outdated but still with a lot of his old charm. Ok breakfast, prices around 250 bs. Good for business trips or short stays in La Paz.

We did not originally intend to stay, and so did not reserve rooms, at El Dorado Hotel in La Paz. Instead, we were sent here by Hotel LP Columbus (for a review of Hotel LP Columbus, see my profile). We stayed at El Dorado Hotel for three nights (02-05 July). The accommodation at El Dorado Hotel was subpar. Despite living...

Located right near to the main thoroughfare (el prado) and 10 minutes walk to the main square in the safe area of Sopocachi this hotel is great value. It's a bit dated but has a nice buffet breakfast and hot water (not always reliable in la paz). Staff are helpful as well.

Definitely not a 3 star hotel. A 2 star at best. Way too overpriced for many negatives: -ants (loads) in bathroom. - dirty bathroom - including previous occupants hairs everywhere. - plugs spark (dangerous!) - plus blew fuses on appliances we have been using whilst travelling for 5 months. - beds the most uncomfortable - dip in the middle and...

The place is a bit old and run down. But, everything is clean and works. The WiFi in our room worked well. The breakfast of bread and jam was OK. The hotel is well situated centrally in town. The street can be a bit noisy, but we slept well, probably because we were tired after the long bus ride of...

It's a room. If you're going all the way to LaPaz for more than overnight to catch a plane, find someplace else. If you're lucky , the tub/shower might work; there is no ventilation in bathroom; the sink is almost in the tub; and the countertop is over the toilet. Make sure you get a clean towel. If you're lucky,...

I have never posted a negative review on Tripadvisor before. I am not sure how we even ended up at this shabby hotel. Our travel agent had been asked to book properties that are 3 star and up, but I cannot endorse this rating. The room was musty, cheaply furnished, with poor finishes in the bathroom. The room was basically...

Stayed here back in 2009 when it was decent. This time the place smelled like poop! The maintenance guy said there was probably a pipe broken in the walls and there was no way to fix it. It was overpowering and made us not even want to sleep in the room. The shower always had hot water, breakfast was good,...
