The hotel is conveniently located in a side street of the Main Street in La Paz. You walk from the busy to the quiet in just a few minutes. The hotel only offers a few rooms but they are very nice(we stayed in 5, next to reception). The staff are sweet and very helpful and due to the possibility of... More

My mum and I booked to stay here for 2 nights when we first arrived to La Paz and ended up staying for 5 as we loved it so much. We arrived late at night and after a fair bit of confusion between ourselves and the taxi driver we managed to locate the hotel and find a doorbell. We were... More

El Consulado is by no means a Boutique Hotel, as it has no charm or design, and truly nothing special. The check-in is awful, as is the building in general. And the rooms are very scantlify furnished and incredibly noisy--the neighbouring building is very large school that teaches late into the night. Everything the ad says about the hotel is... More

This place was very clean and staff was very friendly. Located in a nice neighborhood, safe to walk around. The place was missing few basics which would make this place super cozy. For example, pillows were extremely low and uncomfortable. We had to ask a second pair so we can have extra padding. The place has many drawers, cabinets but... More

Very quiet and very good location in the center of La Paz. What a charm for this house of the 1920th in this incredible city. The staff is helpful, the breakfast delicious. The 7 rooms are very comfortable despite the old style.

Only there for one night but the presidential room was large and airy. Reception was very helpful organising taxi's for the airport the next day and as we were missing breakfast we had a lunch bag waiting for us the following morning which was a very nice touch. Room was a bit cold at night but nothing the heater and... More

I have mixed feelings about El Consulado. I only stayed there for one night at the end of Jan 2016, so my review is based on a very limited experience there. The location - decent. A major pedestrian street nearby, with restaurants within walking distance. Style of the hotel - old world charm. The hotel is quite nicely decorated, in... More

This is a hotel which is centrally located and in a beautiful colonial house. It is however very overpriced for the services offered and in a loud location. There are many other hotels in this bracket that are far superior and quieter. The staff is helpful. I would recommend if it was at half the going rate.

We based ourselves at the El Consulado in LaPaz for 3 weeks on on off while we did treks and other tours around Bolivia. Each time the stay and service was amazing. Such a quaint little gem. We were also able to leave our luggage with them which we did not take trekking and it was not a problem. jewellery,... More

Booked via hotel.com for 100$CAN. Used their airport transfer service for 15US$ and a gentleman was awaiting for me at the exit. Was whisked away to hotel. Check in was quick and was provided a large room with high ceiling, antique furniture, king bed with a somewhat lumpy mattress, no TV, a big bathroom with a somewhat small shower, view... More
