La Paz will take your breath away – and not just because it’s the world’s highest de facto capital city. Cradled among the mountains, La Paz is an intense experience. Thrill-seekers will love biking down “Death Road.” The Salt Flats (Salar de Uyuni) and trips down the Amazon are big draws nearby. If that isn’t enough, La Paz’s urban jungle will keep your heart racing. Stunning views at every turn, and fiercely held traditions make this city one-of-a-kind. Selina La Paz is located in the Sopocachi neighborhood. This bohemian neighborhood greets you with a mix of large colonial mansions and modern apartment buildings. Soak in the vibrant ambiance and local flavor away from the tourist crowds. It’s not just the high altitude that will make your heart race. La Paz’s natural beauty is only rivaled by its unique cultural heritage. La Paz is one of the seven new wonder cities of the world and a great base for biking, hiking, trekking, the world famous Uyuni Salt Flats and Amazon boat trips.

Loved this hotel! The design is sooooo nice and it has a cafe and great food. I loved the room and the bed is big. Only downfall is the shower which is so small but we still got hot water. I would highly recommend this hotel. They let us keep our bags there whilst we went on a tour for 2 days for free!

I stayed in both private room and shared dorm and I am amazed by the quality/value you're getting for your money. It's clean, comfortable, even dorm felt private (with private bathroom belonging only to that dorm and curtain next to your bed so no one can se you drooling when you're asleep). The staff was one of the nicest I ever met in South America. And I don't mean just one person, they ALL are super nice (special thanks to Ericka and Jaime). It's walking distance from the city centre (10-15mins) and the area is safe. Even teleferico is nearby (7mins, linea morada). Dont hesitate, just book it and you won't regret! TIP: Hostel offers their excursions and a lot of times they are cheaper than what you can get directly via agency.

Hi Nico! Thank you so much for such a wonderful review! The team is thrilled to hear we could make your stay wonderful despite the hard situation our city is facing. We hope to see you back some time when things are calmer so you can explore more of La Paz!

First of all the team at this Selina were by far the friendliest and most helpful - all we encountered were delightful. Nice artwork around the hostel. Really nice cafe at the entrance. We tried a local dish called Pique Macho - it was delicious! Their common hang out spaces are on the top floor, including the shared kitchen, library and movie room. A short but nice stay.

The staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help. Finding hot showers with good pressure was amazing! The bunk beds (in our 10-bed room) were comfy and the curtains on the bunk beds were awesome to allow for a bit more of privacy. They store your luggage at no cost, but breakfast is a bit pricey and so are the tours (more expensive than around in the city). The kitchen is a bit small for all the guests so at peak times, there is not enough room to cook and eat. Also, it would be nice to have more sitting areas in the common areas upstairs.
