a Hotel with a very small pool and friendly helpful staff but why 150 dollar for a simpel room included breakfast the standard I would say 2 star very few sunchairs at the pool area I would not recomend this hotel Before they lower there price to what they offer
Do u need a place to go and relax and go in a pool . How about Rayolton . It is the biggest hotel in a place in Negril it is still in Jamaica . It has a big pool , alot of rooms so u can stay over , in the room it has a shower , television , bed , closet , have fun when u go to rayolton .
We just spend one night in this hotel, to visit Punta del Este. We change our first room because the toilet was not cleaned. The second room was a bit better, but not clean at all, you can see the dust every there. The hotel is old, but this is no excuse to be dirty. The reception is new, this the pictures you can find when you book. The guys in the check-in are friendly and know where to go in the city. But overall stay away if you want a clean hotel
This is a medium size hotel, very confortable, with a wonderfull situation. You want surf, go to playa braba, you want to swim, go to playa mansa. The sea is really nice, you will find showers, toilets and changing rooms on the beaches. If you want to visit old city, it is also easy by foot, and for the shopping is really a good position. People are really friendly,WiFi is one of the best so far in the country, the rooms are big and with all amenities. Breakfast is included, and they also have a restaurant open for lunch and dinner. The lobby is really beautiful overlooking the pool and spa area. Pool is not very big.
Hotel staff speaks limited English, but enough to get all of the basics out of the way so this wasn't an issue. Breakfast is included in room rate and is simple continental in nature, mostly breads and juices. Located a very short walk away from Los Dedos, the main highlight of Punta del Este. Also quite close to the bus station, which is nice if you have luggage on wheels (but too far if you have to carry heavy bags). Room was small and simple but very nice. Wi-fi signal was fast and reliable.
The Jamaica is a small family owned hotel well located on the peninsula. It is close to the beaches, rambla and downtown. The hotel rooms are spacious with lots of cupboards, dressers etc. the rooms are tired looking but clean. Towels are changed x 2 a day, the bedding changed with crisp sheets.the staff are friendly and helpful. There is usually someone who speaks English available. The out door area is lovely with a a large patio surrounding the very clean pool and hot tub. The vegetation is lovely and the birds visit. There is shade available and varied seating. The hotel also boasts a lovely verandah with comfortable sofas etc and also a spacious lobby well furnished . The breakfast is substantial. This our 5 th visit to this hotel. Good value for Punta.
The hotels in Punta del Este all seem to be small low-rise, and of a similar standard to the Jamaica. The location of the Jamaica is fine. A block from the beach, and 4 blocks from Avis, the bust station and the main drag of Av. Gorlero. Free wi-fi, and pretty speedy. Very pleasant staff. There are private parking facilities 1/2 a block away. There is a safe in the room. (No kettle.) Continental breakfast is pretty good. Fruit, cheese, cold cuts, bread, cereal, juices, croissants, yoghurt, tea and coffee. There also a bar - we didn't drink there - but it looked well stocked. The pool is a little small, but it was too cool to swim there anyway. The rooms were clean. We needed a little bit extra doing in the bathroom, and the maid was very helpful. Bed was very comfortable. Water was nice and hot. The shower pressure wasn't the greatest, but it was adequate. We forgot to bring the cable to charge our ipad. We asked at the front desk if they had one, and they had a box full of assorted chargers and cables. Perfect. Thank you to whoever lost their cable! We borrowed it and returned it when we left. Now the negative: The first night we were fine. The next night, we had neighbours in the adjoining room. At 6pm, their TV was on. Loud? Yes. We would have asked them to turn it down if it was still on when we returned, but it wasn't. We guessed they had children who were watching cartoons before bed. However, at night, we could hear the neighbours when they coughed. Luckily, it wasn't that often. There's not much the hotel can do about thin walls, but hope all neighbours are quiet and thoughtful when you stay here. OK, this hotel isn't on par with somewhere like the Conrad, but given the sparsity of hotels, I will have to give it 4* for the rate (off season) that we paid. High-season rates are triple, and I would not want to pay that. Final tip: pay your food/drinks bill in restaurants in PDE and you get a 22% discount - a refund of VAT (sales tax). Apparently this is from November to end of March, but it was a real pleasant surprise. We also got 22% off the car hire! Enjoy Punta del Este.…
The location of the hotel is good ,not to far from the beach and very central .The rooms are ok !General speaking may be this hotel has arrived to the time to " refresh" the bathrooms and the public areas. Staff is friendly, breakfast could be better .
This hotel really makes you feel at home. Service is very friendly. Rooms are on the small side. The hotel is located on a side road close to town and the beaches. Clean rooms. Convenient location though on an area with several buildings under construction.
My cousin and I made a last minute decision to spend a day in Punte Del Este while on a trip to Uruguay and Argentina...which means we had to find a room in early December during a big conference weekend. We found Hotel Jamaica on TripAdvisor; called and asked if they had availability and they were very helpful and courteous on phone and did have a room. The rooms are very basic, but clean and comfortable. The bathrooms have obviously been updated. The hotel provides you with a towel, chair and umbrella to take to the beach - which is one block away. The hotel staff were sweet and courteous and helpful. The very nice included breakfast and lovely.
