The hotel is ok, but the night we stayed there was a wedding. So it was impossible to sleep. And we were told that we were not going to hear anything form our rooms, but we did the whole night. Luckily, the next day the manager gave us some money back to apologize. The gym is horrible, very old and...

As first comment, it is fair to clarify that even though I live in London, I´m originally from Uruguay, and know the hotel standards in the country very well, and keeping some real good hotels out of the consideration, the Jean Clevers is definitely a very good option in both, relative and absolute terms. And for Punta del Este standards,...

It is a nice building with a nice garden but needs maintenance. We had problems with the smell in the room that looks gloomy because there were no pictures on the wall except for one. The lights in the corridor starts only when you are already inside the corridor at night it gives you unpleasant feeling. The minibar kept on...

The staff was allways very friendly and helpful. The room was big and with double glass windows for acoustic and temperature isolation. The hotel is not so near...

Both swimmung pools are good for aquatic recreation. Just beside the hotel there is a shopping mall with a supermarket. Quite convenient to find anything you...

You walk in to a beautiful lobby and think, "this is promising"....that's it. The rooms are disgusting (mainly the beds), their "white" sheets are now cream-colored, and in desperate need of some bleach. If you want a bed larger than a twin, you'll have to specially request it. The bathrooms are actually pretty nice, considering the rest of the accommodations....

We were looking for a hotel in Punta for the week of new year (not an easy task!). Prices during that week rocket to unbelievable levels. This hotel, although not cheap in any sense, was more reasonable than some others with very good reputation and yet, we felt it was very much of the same standard of those more famous...
