The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal has garnered high praise for its cleanliness and well-maintained facilities. Guests highlight the hotel's exceptional service, with staff members providing attentive and professional care. The luxurious amenities, including a vast pool and beach area, and the vibrant, elegant atmosphere with live music, add to the hotel's appeal. While the location is appreciated for its proximity to the airport and Grand Mosque, some guests find it a bit secluded. Room experiences are largely positive, though there are occasional maintenance issues. Opinions on value are divided; some guests feel the experience justifies the cost, while others are less convinced.

We have been to the Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi for the second time this year and were very impressed again.

The newly renovated rooms are extremely bright and tastefully decorated, the room size is ideal for a couple and the bathroom with double sinks, bathtub, separate shower and separate toilet is a pleasant size. Room service comes twice a day on request - everything was cleaned very well.

The pool area is very large and spacious - many thanks to Kasun and Rafiq for the great care during our stay. Our preferred loungers were already prepared every day and we were supplied with cold drinking water all day long. There was also always a free ice cream at lunchtime.

Unfortunately there is only a small section of the beach and there is only one access to the Grand Canal (with salt water) - but there is no direct "sea access".

With half board, a large breakfast buffet is available for breakfast, which leaves nothing to be desired. Many thanks at this point to the chef Pramod Rajbhar who fulfilled our special requests despite the huge selection.
For dinner, you can also choose between the buffet restaurant and 3 a la carte restaurants (Asian, Lebanese and steak). We can highly recommend all 4 options.

A trip to the large mosque opposite the hotel is definitely recommended. If it's not too warm, you can walk - alternatively, you can take a taxi for 3-4€. Entry is free - but you have to register online in advance (I would do this at the hotel). Please make sure to follow the dress code - they are very strict, especially for women!
The mosque is beautiful and really worth seeing.

We will definitely be back!

First time to Abu Dhabi and chose the Ritz Carlton based on the many positive reviews on trip advisor along with recommendation from our travel advisor. We were delighted upon arrival at the hotel with the grand entrance, together with the warm, kind welcome from the staff we saw whilst checking in and beyond.

Our room on the 5th floor, overlooking the pool was immaculate. Newly refurbished and everything you could possibly want and with a lovely surprise of decoration and treats to celebrate our belated wedding anniversary.

We had booked the half board dine around which allowed us to eat in the main restaurant, Giornotte for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Extensive and varied food to suit everyone’s taste combined with the choice of eating indoors or outdoors. At this time of year eating outside was perfect. We also tried the 3 Al a carte restaurants, The forge, Li Jiang and Mijana which all offer menus that are included in the dine around. All were fantastic with our favourite been the Asian, Li Jiang which offers seating outside looking out towards the grand mosque. The food and service was incredible.

The pool area was a lovely, relaxing space. Never too busy with sunbeds always available, however we were looked after by the pool attendant who would look out for us and immediately place towels on the beds for us, bringing a bucket of ice with water bottles which were replaced regularly. A daily fruit juice was also brought around late morning and ice lollies around 1pm. The team work so hard to ensure you are so well looked after.

A huge thankyou to everyone for making our week away so memorable. We really did feel blessed that we could unwind and want for nothing after having an upsetting number of weeks due to a bereavement prior to our holiday. The management at the Ritz Carlton should feel so proud that you have an amazing team of people working so hard to make guests feel so welcome and looked after.

We will be back

My wife & I stayed at the Ritz Carlton 3rd to 11th February and everything was as expected from The Ritz-Carlton 5 star experience totally top notch!
The view across to the Grand Mosque, itself a stunning building was exceptional.

Our room was lovely, exceptionally clean and serviced every day to a high standard.
Unfortunately, We did not get the name of the individual who looked after our room but they need a mention.
The staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful, nothing being too much trouble for them.
We had dinner in all of the restaurants in the hotel, all were really lovely and the food was excellent and beautifully presented.
No issues finding a sun bed at any time of the day, indeed Raffia by the pool had a sunbed set out for us every day without asking, Zain was just fantastic always checking if we needed anything, Hashim saving our energy for us by cleaning our sunglasses and bringing round ice lollies and Mostafa checking we were OK and were being well looked after.
In the buffet in which we had breakfast every day , Shirley was always bright and cheery and Aurora "the numbers lady"has my admiration for remembering our room number and never needing to ask us for it again.
The grounds and facilities are lovely and the situation on the Grand Canal was perfect.
Overall, we think that the staff are fantastic coming from all over the world, all very friendly, happy to talk to us and offering service with a smile.
Finally a mention should be made of "Jess" the Harris Hawk whose job was to keep away the crows at breakfast, we have been to many hotels around the world but never at one which has a hawk on the staff.....brilliant!

The lost stars have nothing to do with the staff as they were fantastic, they could not do enough for you .
Previous to my arrival I had emailed hotel about the club lounge as I am part of the Marriott gold elite. If you are not part of the Marriott it’s Approx £110 per person per night with a discount approx £83 per person gold members, I find this extortionate price for what you get. There was myself / husband / daughter 3half days cost £998 fir club lounge which I stupidly paid as I got told when I checked in I could go up and have lunch which had stopped when I went up so missed out on that . There is only business people In there as I think no one will pay these ridiculous prices , I only paid this as hotel is in the middle of no where so thought rather than going to restaurants in taxis every night to eat in the club lounge. For this price I would expect not to have to keep getting changed from the pool to have to go up to the 7th floor get out your swim attire just for a cold soft drink , you should be able to obtain from pool bar now the price of the lounge has doubled. No atmosphere in there in the evening, I asked for some back ground music but got told when the piano is playing they can’t put music on .. this is the 7th floor the piano is in the lobby 🙈
On check in approx 3pm got told my room was not ready for approx 40 mins yet hotel is only half full, we git in room about 3.45 not impressed as wanted to just get in room to go out to pool, this was not the case . Sat in club lounge without lunch waiting . Room was leaking air con so floor soaking every day / shower in bath was broke / edging toilet door hanging off , not what you would expect from Ritz group. Next morning I got woken up at 5am with a loud noise coming from the garden under my room , I called down to reception as I thought it was construction taking place but got told it was the fogging machine ! What at 5am !! I forgot my beach bag so again called only to get housekeeping bring me a brown takeaway paper bag as they had no beach bags left … shocking . Again nothing was offered to me even when I told them feedback would be left accordingly .. what hotel does turndown service at 4pm ?? Asking me if I needed fresh towels ermm no I’ve not been in the room since you made it up this morning so please come back after I have showered but no one came back snd missed next nights I was there … again nothing from management when i emailed .. he eventually offered some extra points to my Marriott card which I call an insult after paying all the money for the hotel then the club lounge and get offered a few points as compensation… no thanks ! in main buffet had to wait 20 mins as they mixed order up again only a few tables occupied not even busy .. all these snags add up and not the standard I would expect as I normally stay in Ritz Dubai which is 100 💯 percent better. I’m sorry but I won’t be returning and I am a travel advisor which I also informed them I would pass all this on to my clients but again management not to fussed .

Dear Hols1111122222, Thank you for being our guest and for the time taken to share your valuable detailed feedback with us on Tripadvisor. We understand that your stay did not meet your expectations, and we value your input as we continuously strive to enhance the guest experience. We regret to learn that the Club offerings and ambience were not up to the mark and for the lack of attentiveness from our leadership team who made several attempts to meet you in person. This certainly does not align with our usual standards of service, and we appreciate your patience in bringing these issues to our attention. We understand the importance of a seamless check-in experience, especially when traveling with family, and we sincerely apologize for the delay and the frustration while waiting for the room to be ready. Rest assured; we are taking steps to address the issues you raised to ensure improved efficiency in the future. We acknowledge your concerns about the fogging machine noise early morning; however, the treatment timing unfortunately is very crucial due to the uncertain weather we recently had in UAE. Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us as we continuously strive to provide exceptional service. We sincerely apologize for the discomfort caused by the challenges you encountered and for any shortcomings in the way it was addressed. Rest assured, we are thoroughly reviewing your comments with our team to ensure such incidents are handled more efficiently and with the utmost care. Kind Regards, Christian Hoehn General Manager

We visited this hotel on the 30th December - 8th January. I was absolutely blown away by this hotel. The service is impeccable, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. However what is also notable is that the staff are genuine and seem to be able to be themselves. We have stayed in other hotels where everything feels scripted but this is not the case here.

If you are travelling with children this hotel is amazing. They go above and beyond to cater for them and make a fuss of them wherever they are. We travelled with our 11 month old. Everyday a cabana was reserved for us so that he could be in the shade, we were given fresh water and towels throughout the day. Staff also gave my son little toys and made every effort to interact with him. Raj who is the leisure and pool manager was outstanding and made our holiday really special.

We had club access and this was very much worth it for us. We were concerned that it was going to be just snacks but you can get your full days meals in there if you so wish. There was always hot and cold food at breakfast, lunch and dinner. For us the breakfast was much better here as the main buffet is so huge we preferred a smaller space so that we could be up and down whilst still being able to see our son. Again the service here was great, we were particularly looked after by a member of staff who told us he was from Chennai in India he used to work in the main restaurant but then only worked in the club but I can not remember his name - if the hotel is able to recognise him from that I really hope so!

Food again, really good. We ate at the Japanese and the steak house and both were excellent. We had wagu fillet in the steakhouse which is probably the best steak I’ve ever had.

We stayed in a club suit and this was very spacious.

I cannot wait to return to this hotel, hopefully in March. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

we travelled as a family of five for vacation with children aged 15, 13 and nine.

We stayed in a three bedroom Rabdan villa with its own pool. However, we made use of the main pool every day and had half board option so dined around the various hotel restaurants as well as using the poolside restaurant on most days. The villa was superb and had a large dining room, living room area, multiple bathrooms a kitchen and washing facilities if you needed them. However, the stand out for us was the quality of service. From the moment we arrived at the hotel when John as front of house welcomed us personally and ensured and checked in with us every day of our stay to make sure we were happy with our stay through to Venkey our villa attendant who gave us his WhatsApp details straight away and would give us lift around the facility, arrange transportation and dining reservations every day as well as checking to make sure that everything was perfect in the villa several times a day. The attendants around the pool area were superb making sure that there was sufficient towels, endless free water (which is essential in these exceptionally hot temperatures) and were constantly moving umbrellas to ensure you had UV screening to protect you from the worst of the temperatures and sun.

The pool and gym were excellent with the pool being chilled this time of year which whilst quite shocking when you first get in is really welcome as an escape from the heat and the gym was really well equipped and an impressive facility that we made a lot of use of.

We dined Giornotte for breakfast every day and most evenings but we also dined at Mijana, the Lebanese restaurant which offered us superb range of food on the half board option and the Forge, which is a nice steakhouse which again offered a broad selection of food as part of the half board dine around. You can go off menu if you choose to but there really is no need given the range of choices available under the half board option.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone be they a solo traveller, couples or indeed a family such as ours. But the real standout is the exceptional way in which the staff choose to treat you and really welcome you.

The hotel is excellent, located near the mosque, 15 minutes to the nearest shops and cafes, there are 3 restaurants and cafes on the territory.. The food is simply top class!!! The chef captivated and surprised.. just for this reason we would come back again. A huge minus for the reception staff - rude and inattentive! We waited for check-in for 2 hours, although we arrived at 14:00! In December-January, the rooms are cool at night, but they couldn’t help us in any way.. the curtain was torn off upon check-in and hung torn off! The handle on the chest of drawers broken! For some reason there is only one robe for everyone. They carried a disposable toothbrush for two hours and you have to beg for it. The room had no balcony and did not open at all, which is very sad.. rooms with a balcony are available for the same price, but we found out this later. Noted New Year's Eve here - the food is just super, but the rest is usual... live music and sparklers)
In general, would I come back here again? More “no” than “yes”... only if it’s because of the food and the staff who work in the restaurants

Just got home from the most amazing stay at the Ritz Carlton, this hotel is a fantastic place to relax and unwind as a family. This hotel is the best hotel i have ever stayed at and as a family we will defiantly be coming back. All the hotel staff where friendly, polite and are so accommodating to every need that you may have. Special mentions to our house keeper for our stay Lalit who made sure the room was spotless and added little touches in terms of pillow art for the kids. Also praise to Shameer and Salmaan the very friendly door staff that provided such a fantastic touch in bringing out the warmth of the hotel. The food at the venue is first class in all restaurants that are on the site. Pool service where also very friendly and are dedicated to treating everyone the same.

What can we say. We had 12 days of being treat like a King and Queen, never felt so sad to return from a holiday. It was almost like we were leaving family behind.
Just a beautiful hotel with an amazing pool overlooking the mosque. The food is absolutely spot on . It was our second visit to the Ritz Carlton and it certainly did not disappoint. The reception staff are so welcoming and helpful and always are ready to help and advise .
The rooms are very spacious and are kept clean and tidy with the housekeeping team doing such a great job. But it is the restaurant team , pool and bar staff that are just a group of the best people you could wish to meet while on your holiday. Firstly the restaurant the front desk with Jesselyn , Luhindah, , managers Roshan and Shirley bending over backwards to get you anything that you needed. The wonderful chefs Robin who made the best calamari dish we had ever eaten . Pramod making us special Indian dishes, chole bhature being our particular favourite. A pot of masala chi brought to our table every morning . Central , Dipika , Khine always smiling and ready to help .
The pool team are just fantastic. An abundance of water and ice fetched throughout the day ice lollies and cooling towels too, by Anil and Rafik. Janeek the bar manager serving the best cocktails in the happy hour around £9 made exactly to our liking. Sujeesh and Jako ready to have a friendly chat and to check if there was anything we needed. The high spirits shop on site is also great selling lots of alcohol and very reasonably priced. With a very helpful manager .
I had a sore throat for several days and for that period I was made a drink of hot water , honey and ginger and even had some sent up to my room . Such a caring group of people. It’s absolutely mind blowing how wonderful the staff at this beautiful hotel are .
On our final day we had a beautiful meal cooked for us with Nigel making one of his signature cocktails to accompany it. A exotic fruit platter and a pretty table all set out for us .
The only downside is that there’s not a great deal around to walk to but taxis are plentiful and cheap . A trip to Dubai cost 230dhs .
Anyone wanting a relaxing time at a luxurious hotel with amazing food well this is the place to go .
Ritz Carlton we thank you for making us feel so special, it truly is an amazing hotel and can’t wait to return.

I am having a great experience, but the most I’m impressed about it’s the house keeping. I give 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to Saurabh from day zero. He welcome me with a towel monkey design ensuring my room it’s always clean, and continued to make some towels designes every week like two more dogs, extra towels, estar pillows, rifilling my water bottles and exchanging my room flowers every day. His attention to detail and ensuring I’m having the best time it’s impecable. Ritz you guy have a excellent worker.
