The experience I’ve had at the Ritz Carlton Grand Canal has simply been phenomenal. From the customer service, food quality, amenities, facilities, pool, and gym, it’s been just great. Definitely recommend the hotel to anyone. I also want to recognize the personnel at the Club Lounge for making my stay fantastic: Joseph, Charlotte, Ranga, Betty, Casey, Edwin, Isabella, Chef Lila, Roy and Raoul. They made my stay extra special.
We have stayed on this fabulous resort for 10 nights. It is overall stunning, has great facilities and the rooms with views are gorgeous. What we loved most about this is the fantastic pool area where Sajid has provided us with the best customer service we have received on holiday ever. He is attentive, polite and extremely hardworking. We can honestly say we would stay here again for the pleasure of seeing him once more. Sajid has looked after us extremely well and if you do visit please ask for him, you won't be disappointed with his friendliness and mannerisms. Thank you for all your hard work and for looking after us Sajid. Mr & Mrs Rawat
It’s check out time and I’m devastated to leave this fabulous place. Everything is so perfect, the location, views, food and most importantly the staff. They have made this trip so special. From a majestic lobby welcome everyday from Serigne, to Raoul and Christley from the concierge team who looked after each and every enquiry. Priya at Giornotte for reservation support and the fantastic pool team of Sajid, Yoga and Vignesh for looking after us every day. From bottles of iced water, to ice pops and delicious happy hour cocktails our pool days could not have been better!! This hotel is a magical place with an amazing team who could not do enough for our trip! A huge thanks to Gerard on reception for rescuing two ladies with a terrible homeward bound flight time and giving us extra time in our room to refresh. Thank you so much to this wonderful team, we will be back soon!! Already looking to book our next trip with you!!…
Our first visit to this hotel and we recently stayed for 12 nights with our family. Our normal location of choice in the Middle East would be Dubai so in our minds we were benchmarking to some of their premier hotels. We were not disappointed in any way. We were fortunate in securing Executive Suites and I would recommend reserving a room with Club access.. Wonderful large rooms and our first thanks to the housekeeping team and Minakshi in particular for the way in which in which the room was beautifully cleaned every day. Rooms had great views looking out over the resort and whilst there are a few with Mosque views we decided this worked better for us. Club facilities have been covered in many other reviews and one of the best club facilities we have seen. A big call out to Charlotte, Joseph, Casey, Raoul, Ranga and Mohammed. Food choice was excellent, great views and a constant determination to make most things possible. We were there with our grand-daughter aged 2 and a half and the team were fantastic in looking out for her. The pool area stood out for the service and this is where I am benchmarking to previous hotels we have stayed in. It certainly felt like the challenges of the past few years has allowed the team to invest significantly in the development of the team and it shows. Great pool and we enjoyed the quality of the food in the pool bar and restaurant. A big call out to the whole team and in particular Rafiq, Sajid, Vishal, Rajitha, Anil, Ventakesh and Sajeesh - Teresa will be proud of you. We thought the dining was excellent and well done to Kevin and the team. We particularly enjoyed Li Jiang. Loved the food, try the crispy duck and spectacular views of the Mosque which in itself is a must visit. Brunch with the family was also a lovely experience and whilst not being in a position to compare to alternative brunches in Abu Dhabi we would have no problem in recommending. Finally our thanks to the front office location who were always on hand to help with any requirements and again many everything so easy for our family. Thanks to Lara, Christley, Milan and Irfan. Overall I would finish with the one important statement. We would not hesitate to return and we will along with being happy to recommend the hotel to anyone reading this review. Well done to Christian and the whole team.…
Everything was perfect. So clean.. great food and service.. big thanks to Ibrahim and Salman at the entrance, Wildan and Nette at reception and of course to Abbos a super waiter!! All the staff were very helpful and always solution oriented. Thank you so much. Best regards Ersin Kaya
Since my wife and I arrived at the hotel for our weekend anniversary, we've experienced daily surprises from the staff. The breakfast is delicious, and the pool is so pleasant, the pool team is really attentive. If you have a special weekend planned and want to spend it with your loved one, the Ritz Carlton Grand Canal is the place to go. Also, the view from the Grand Mosque is just divine..... the sunset is the star of the day. Last but not least, big thanks to "Edgar Martinez " who organized the booking and helped with all arrangements.
I spent over a month at the Ritz Carlton Grand Canal. The overall service is incredible. Casey, Ranga, Raoul, Charlotte, Nazim, Joseph in the club level provide amazing service during the day and evening. Your wine glass will never be empty :) Valerie (Pastry kitchen) and Subbodh, Matthew, Gandhar (Chefs) always made the best meals and deserts. My room was always well kept by Ronke (Housekeeping) and Gautam and Pradeep (Stewarding). When you go to the pool and beach, make sure you look for Anees to take care of you. He provided the best pool service during my stay. Will be back very soon.
I was at the Ritz for just over 3 months for business. My stay would not have been nearly as great without the Lounge staff. They made such an effort to make me feel at home. They’re worthy of all the praise. They made an effort to remember me, remember my favorite coffee order, and really go above and beyond their call of duty as hospitality. I will genuinely miss seeing them everyday. Thank you Ritz Lounge staff: Raoul, Ranga, Joseph, Casey, Charlotte, Isabella, Betty and all of the others who cared for me so genuinely. I will never forget you guys! With love, Shannon
This was our 7th trip to the UAE so we have a reasonable idea what to expect from a 5* hotel there. Check-in was flawless and we were allowed into our room early and this was appreciated. Room We found it to be quite dated and the patio furniture rusting in places. It was very clean although several days into our stay we discovered a family of ants next to the coffee machine – this was quickly sorted. Room service was good although several days the room was cleaned quite late, just when we were returning from the pool. Turn-down was a hit or a miss – happened 3 nights out of 6. The bed was ok but the pillows were not comfy, even when we asked for them to be swapped. We found the AC to be quite inefficient and disturbed our sleep each night as we were too warm. We asked a member of staff to take a look but it appeared it was as good as it could be. Pool The large pool was a definite no-go due to noise levels. The adult pool was amazing and we were well looked after by Louis and Clovis. There was no food/beveridge service there but that didn’t concern us greatly. Staff The staff are a tremendous asset to the hotel. Everyone said hello when we passed by and service was always with a smile. Food This was greatly disappointing and not what we would expect from a 5* hotel. In hindsight, we would have opted for bed and breakfast rather than half board. Breakfast was good although the sausages, bacon, tomato and mushrooms were lukewarm each day. By the time we got to the table, the food was cold. Flavia was wonderful and cooked us eggs to order each day – she even made some French toast for us. On half board, you can visit 4 restaurants, including the buffet. The buffet choice was good but again the “hot” choices were lukewarm. We did complain to a waiter who summoned a manager but we noticed no improvement going forward. I wouldn’t be surprised if some guests suffer with bad tummies. We visited the buffet one night to be told it was pizza and pasta night and as it had been advertised externally, there were no tables available for hotel guests. There had been no pre-warning of this – a simple sign at breakfast would have been helpful. We managed to get into the Lebanese restaurant but watched many couples/families being turned away. The best night was Saturday as the sea food was fantastic. We did try the “hot” food but again, cold. Also, you could tell the food was left over from the earlier Brunch. The Italian dishes were stodgy, they had obviously been sitting since lunch time. The Lebanese restaurant was amazing. Large choice and plenty of food – cooked and served to perfection. The Asian was not so good – the dumplings were bland, and I could not eat the main course as it contained so much salt – I mentioned it to the waitress but no action was taken. The Forge was average – the service, surroundings, and ambience lovely but a very small menus choice – again, the mashed potato was returned as it was stone cold. We fully understand the pressure the hospitality industry is under, just getting back on its knees from the pandemic. Our own business was adversely affected. That said, at £300 per night, being served cold and at times sub-standard food is unacceptable and something that could be resolved easily. We would not return to this hotel. It would do well to visit the Shangri La and Anantara across the canal – the food there is superb.…
Really enjoyed the stay at The Ritz. Hospitality at its best! The staff has a keen attention to details in meeting the requirements of their guests. The facilities are top-notch. I will definitely come back. Preferred for a family visit/stay.
