I stayed in this hotel last year during a business trip to Damascus. Location is good and you can find some good restaurants not far from hotel. Also the main shopping street and old bazaar is in walking distance. However, this hotel is located in a busy part of Damascus and if your room is on street side forget about...

We stayed for 1 night, we wanted to stay longer but the hotel was fully booked (we needed 4 rooms) . Its a great place to stay and excellant value, spotlessly clean rooms, good breakfast and really helpful staff. Its a 5 minute walk to the old city, 2 minutes to the handicraft market, 10 to the museum and 10...

I was shocked when i got the news that i had to stay at this hotel. I read all the news and comments others have left. I agree that there are better places to stay, but I must admit that i was surprised by the quality of the service. Given that i stayed in the newly decorated rooms in the...

This hotel is definitely not worth the money they charge. Parts of it are filthy or falling apart, the rooms smell and the breakfact was not good. There are newly installed Panasonic Viera TVs in the rooms. The money would have been better spent on redecoration, new furniture and carpets if they want to appeal to European visitors. Some of...

We've just returned from Damascus, having spent 5 nights at The Venezia Hotel. This hotel is very shabby with filthy carpets and very poor decor. We were with a group of 40 friends so we had a lot of opportunity to get representative feedback and the conclusion was that we would not recommend this hotel to anyone! The 'non-smoking' rooms...

I recently stayed in this newly refurbished hotel with 8 colleagues, management informed me that they had closed for renovations. Its refurbished to a 4 star standard, great facilities, lovely clean rooms, friendly staff that couldnt do enough. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Great location too.

Was meant to stay in this hotel 2 nights, but checked out after the first night. The lobby and cafe upstairs look great, but the room was shabby, dark and hot - and very expensive! The aircon blew out hot air and, when I complained, the hotel said it would be fixed "next season, inshallah!" When I checked in, they...

Stayed at this hotel on the last night of a tour (which was fantastic) but this hotel was awful. Dirty, food poor, waiter tried to rip up off for drinks, room squalid! We have been given a gesture of goodwill voucher from the company we booked through and they are not to be using this hotel again.

this hotel is dirty, poorly maintained and without facilities. I tried three different rooms before I left late the same night to another hotel. The bedrooms are smelly, dusty and the furniture old and basic. Nothing seems to work and the furnishing badly need a wash. Refuse to sleep at this place.

Just returned from VJV trip to Syria which was otherwise fine, however we were due to spend one night at the Venezia, but demanded and got a move to the next hotel on the itinery after seeing three dirty, smelly rooms, none of which were useable (we had four other Syrian hotels to compare with, so this is not simply...
