First of all, I would like to note that the room was booked and paid for 3 people. Upon arrival, it turned out that everything in the room was intended for two: a double bed, a set of towels and bath accessories for two. There is a sofa, but it is not made up. And the width of the room does not allow it to be expanded. To resolve the issue, I had to contact the reception and reception desk several times. In the following days, housekeeping took away bed linen from the extra bed several more times, but after appealing to the staff, they returned it.
The second drawback is the lack of any facilities for drying swimsuits in the hotel room, which is located on the seashore and has two swimming pools. There is neither a dryer nor a rope in the bathroom or on the balcony; we used a luggage rack or hung it on the balcony railing.
Everything else in the hotel is excellent: clean, well-groomed territory, polite staff, excellent varied and tasty cuisine, which presents dishes from almost all the nations of the world. Excellent choice of dishes, serving, serving - everything is at the highest level. There are plenty of seats, no queues, tables are served promptly, taking away dirty dishes and serving drinks.
Decent active animation, clean beach.
One could find fault with the fact that the beach is in the port, but it is more like a yacht anchorage. During the rest, the ships did not come or leave; the water was clean and transparent. Yes, in August the water is hot, like in a bath.
Based on the results of my negative feedback from the adventure with an extra bed, representatives of the hotel promptly contacted me, apologized, and offered some bonuses as compensation.
And a small addition regarding the location: The hotel is located on the edge of the city, next to the football stadium, there is nowhere to go out and walk near the hotel, you have to go into the city.

We arrived to the hotel around 3PM and our check in was done by Farouk. Farouk is an absolute legend, you don’t often meet such people who excel in what they do. He switched to German the moment he saw where we are coming from. Check in was smooth and everything was explained. We were booked on in premium sea view room, and I can say that is really a premium sea view! However since we are travelling with our 4yo my wife was worried that it may get loud outside - on the beach and other facilities due to new year’s celebrations. I kindly approached Farouk if we could change the room and get an upgrade, and this was granted without any difficulties. The move to a suite was done by Fajar who picked up our stuff from the room 640 and took it to the suite 730. It was my birthday during my stay and Farouk told me Rixos prepared the cake for me. Indeed I got complimentary cake delivered to the room later on the day by the room service with a self signed note from the manager. Really amazing. This Rixos is placed in an old Gulf hotel which I understood itself it’s a historical hotel. Photos of it can be found in the hallways which is very nice. From 3 other hotels we stayed on our 12 night trip in Doha this hotel had the best food. I absolutely loved the new year’s turkey roast. I think it could depend what dish you take but in general I thought the food is great. I would however agree that premium food options you may have in other Rixos hotels are a limited in this establishment. But then again this is not a Rixos Premium, so I would see comments like this in other reviews unfounded. Breakfast was also amazing with huge variety of pastries and sweets available, which just shows how well Rixos knows their clientele. On the restaurant I would have a small suggestion that Gluten, Dairy and Nut options are clearly indicated next to the dish - diligently and with no exceptions. Great job of cleaning our room, and than later suite was done by Sameer and Summan. Everything was outstandingly clean and the guys always approached us to ask if something is missing or we would need something else. Really Rixos level of service. All in all, we had another amazing Rixos experience. Also important to mention that during our stay I was Accor Platinum member.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveler reviews.
Great very modern rooms, location is optimal) those who write that they don't have enough food - just eating disorder, alcohol better than usual on "all inclusive" staff work very diligently, Gulfairouz at the reception - super) have a little limp service in the restaurant, but they react to the comments. The sea was clean, the pools warm, the beach clean, the room service super. But I think it'll be a little tight in the high season). We settled earlier, later allowed to leave. It's fine, I recommend it.

This hotel’s service is the worst I’ve ever experienced, starting from the moment I checked in. The staff seemed surprised to see me, and their attitudes throughout my stay were unwelcoming and unprofessional. As someone of South Asian appearance, I couldn’t help but feel that other guests, particularly those of European descent, received noticeably better treatment. The staff were consistently rude, passive-aggressive, and unhelpful, leaving me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome.
The hotel itself is very average, nowhere near the standard of a 5-star property. There’s only one adult pool, which is always overcrowded, making it nearly impossible to find a sun lounger. To make matters worse, there’s no one helping around the pool or beach area. They don’t even have staff handing out towels—you have to collect and drop them off yourself from a cage, which is laughable for a so-called luxury hotel. The spa is small and underwhelming, and the breakfast options are extremely limited. If you’ve stayed at other Rixos hotels, you’ll be sorely disappointed—this one doesn’t compare. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere in Doha. For example, I’ve stayed at the Four Seasons before, and their service is in a league of its own.
As for my room, I was booked in a "city view" room, but the actual view was appalling. I’ve attached a photo to show you what I mean—it looked like I was staring at prison cells in front of a car park. The hotel advertises these rooms as offering "gorgeous views of the city," but where are these views? Who wants to look at this during a 5-day luxury holiday? On top of that, my shower wasn’t working properly. Although someone came to fix it 30 minutes after I called, the whole experience felt subpar. I politely asked to switch to a room with a better view, but I was told I’d need to pay an extra 100 QAR per night. In total, I paid £87.24 for four nights just to get a "decent" view. Despite my complaints, no manager contacted me during my stay—another first for me at a hotel.
I also believe the all-inclusive nature of this hotel attracts a certain type of clientele, and unfortunately, they weren’t particularly friendly. If you’re British or South Asian, you might feel uncomfortable here.
At checkout, I was planning to give some feedback, but the staff didn’t even bother to ask, “How was your stay?” It felt like they just wanted to get rid of me.
If the service is bad, you’d at least hope the amenities would make up for it. Sadly, they don’t. The beach is surrounded by buildings and lacks any real beauty, and all the hotel really offers is one overcrowded pool, a few sun loungers, and some self-service towels.
The only good thing I will say is how clean the rooms are. The cleaners are super friendly and hardworking, and they deserve a lot of praise for their efforts.
Management and staff at this hotel desperately need training. As it stands, this place is a total waste of money and time. Avoid it.

Mixed feelings remain from visiting this hotel. There are some things that are bad and there are good things. On the plus side: We arrived at the hotel ahead of check-in time and we did not languish waiting and checked in immediately, I understand that this can only if rooms are available, but not always checked in other hotels even if rooms are available. The noise insulation of the rooms is good, the neighbors and the street was not audible, the bed , bed , towels in the room does not raise questions all well. The staff at the hotel are friendly and are trying to resolve the issues. Delicious food at the diner by the pool. The burger really liked , the fries are fried properly (tastier than in the main restaurant) There is a nice coffee shop in the lobby, but the all-inclusive package only includes tea, coffee and refreshments, desserts and snacks for a fee.
From the downside: There is not a single free sunbed on the beach and by the pool at 8.30am, as towels are freely available to one family occupying sunbeds on both the beach and the pool, then going to breakfast. There are no available tables in the restaurant unless you arrive within half an hour of opening. 80% of the holidaymakers are Kazakh families with children, they have breakfast, lunch and dinner for hours and several times, can leave and come back, anyone is watching the table so that it is not occupied. The food in the restaurant is monotonous from day to day and the same day, all the food lies sloppy, half the desserts are dented and there's an explanation for that, children who try to put their own food on, without the presence of adults. In many hotels, children under 12 are not allowed in restaurants without an adult escort and that is correct, it is not safe, I don't understand why in this hotel in the restaurant children walk on their own, apparently there have been no accidents yet. At the very least, a child can have health problems and eat what they can't. These are the main problems, in fact. We haven't figured out how it is that in a hotel where everyone has different types of food, there is no control over the entrance to the restaurant, it can be accessed from the street and the main entrance. I'm the one who can only book a room with breakfast and all-inclusive meals? The only one at the bars asked to see the bracelet.

Firstly the hotel itself is excellent. Lovely lobby, room was great (superior sea view).
What lets it down is the apparent inability to cope with the number of guests. Unless you get down before 8am you will not get a sunbed.
It is not easy to get a table at the Farmhouse where the buffet is. You have to look for a table that looks finished, you sit down in front of the dirty plates and wait for someone to clear. You often have to ask for cutlery and water. There are 2 a la carte restaurants but the Indian for turned into a buffet to cope with the overspill. This is not 5*
The front of house staff are courteous and helpful. The waiters in the buffet and restaurant seem poorly trained. You are never asked if you'd like anything, you constantly have to ask them. Communication is poor. There is no service mentality.
The entertainment in the late afternoon and evening is a good addition.
The all inclusive is pretty wide ranging and includes alcohol although the selection is small. The buffet does become quite tiresome after about day five. Lots of rice and stews. But there is salad, fruit and fresh pasta and pizza every day. So it's good! Just eating in the one restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner (you only get 2 a la carte bookings) gets a bit much.
At this price point, you're almost at Atlantis Palm or Ikos territory and I'm afraid it comes nowhere close.
Advice to the hotel is to really assess occupancy and ensure you have facilities to match, including tables and sun beds. And ensure staff in the restaurants are well trained and serve guests, not just clear tables.
Upon check out I was not asked how my stay was.

Dear timbakeruk, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback regarding your recent stay at Rixos Gulf Hotel. We’re truly sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations and that you encountered delays and discomfort in various areas. While we’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed our hotel’s ambiance and your room, we apologize for the challenges you faced with sunbed availability and dining experiences. Our team works hard to maintain a high standard, and we recognize that we fell short in accommodating all of our guests during busy periods. Your comments regarding the wait times at the buffet and the service provided by our restaurant staff are invaluable, we are currently investigating and will address these issues with our team to ensure improvements are made. We appreciate your suggestions about assessing our facilities to better match occupancy levels, as well as the importance of staff training to enhance our service mentality. Your feedback is essential for us to enhance the overall experience for all our guests. Thank you once again for your insights. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and to provide you with the exceptional experience you rightly expect. Warm regards, Savio De Gouveia

Didn't like it at all: of the pluses only a good room and acceptable cleaning, of the minuses everything else: terribly unfriendly and not competent reception, came there for Formula 1, so this: to call a taxi was a whole quest, they just steamed their taxi, which was not allowed there and they didn't care at all that we would have to walk for several kilometres. Suddenly, they abruptly stopped cooperating with a legal taxi. They made us practically late for the final. There's a terrible draught left, first time we've seen this. There are few beds, if you didn't run in at 7:00 a.m. and borrow, you'll be lying on towels and it's five stars. Breakfasts and dinners are a separate topic, the available space must be “hunted”, the tables are always dirty, the fish for breakfast must be asked from the waiter and wait for him to bring, the food is very scarce and not delicious, as is the food in the room, the price tag does not correspond to the quality at all. The beach is bordered by a boat parking lot, and there is 1 van-café on the beach with a fast food menu. Anyway, if you're a fan of getting up at 7:00 a.m. and "fighting" for breakfast and then begging for a regular cab, you're right here. And we're terribly disappointed with this kind of vacation.

Upon arriving Doha, we recieved an email stating that we’d be moved to Hilton Doha due to overbookings and some construction in certain areas of the hotel. When checking in there was no mention of moving to a different hotel which left us very confused. The overall cleanliness of the room was satisfactory, however there was mold by the fridge unit on the floor which was not good as we have a small child who could have easily touched and ingested the mold.
Adding to the frustration, our personal belongings, which we had left in the room temporarily, were disposed of by housekeeping. This was extremely upsetting and left us feeling like our possessions were disregarded. When we approached the staff about it, we didn’t feel like our concerns were taken seriously or addressed appropriately. In fact, there was no response.
Finally, I noticed that the utensils used to mix alcoholic drinks were also used for non-alcoholic beverages. This could be a concern for guests like us who avoid alcohol for health and personal reasons, and it left me questioning the overall attention to detail.
Overall, I was left disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless some major improvements are made to both their policies and customer service.

A wonderful hotel, everything is new, clean, it’s pleasant to be here, fresh flowers are placed in the lobby, tea, lemonade, dates and Turkish delight are offered at the entrance. The staff is very friendly, the two administrator girls are wonderful - Gulfairuz and Ulbosyn always helped with translation into English. Delicious food, great variety, the waiters are very attentive, special thanks to Tachkeld, he always came up to his son and offered him juice and drinks. The rooms are always clean and fresh. On my birthday, the hotel congratulated me with cake, fruits and sweets. The beach is clean, lifeguards watch the children in the pool, there are training sessions in the gym, children's programs at the kids club, they are very friendly towards children, there are children's discos, face painting, master classes in the kitchen with a chef. I only have pleasant and vivid impressions from the hotel!☀️🧡

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha and will definitely return on our future visits to Qatar. The hotel is stunningly decorated, with immaculately maintained grounds. Staff are this hotel’s greatest asset. We felt as if we were being looked after by friends and family, rather than employees. Nothing was too much trouble and the level of service rendered by each and every staff member we encountered, exceeded all of our expectations. Our 11-night stay was a celebratory one, our 10th Wedding Anniversary, and we are so elated that we chose to stay at Rixos Gulf Hotel to commemorate this special occasion. From the moment we arrived, til the day we departed, the team made us feel so special and loved. They went above and beyond to help us make new memories and we truly appreciated their well wishes, as well as the delicious anniversary cakes! Our room [219] was spacious, well-appointed, very clean and comfortable, with lots of natural light and a spectacular view. Many thanks to the diligent housekeepers, for their great attention to detail and accommodating our late risings. Our meals at Farmhouse, Mr. Tailor Steakhouse and Rasa were consistently outstanding and delectable. We enjoyed the beautiful and unique ambiance in each restaurant, as well as the splendid array and variety of dishes and menu items. Additionally, we appreciated the late closing/dining hours. Our only suggestions regarding the food and beverage outlets for All~Inclusive guests, as ourselves, would be [i] for Akte Pier 51 to be included as a dining option; and [ii] for the All~Inclusive hours at Crust & Lobby Lounge, to be changed to more social hours, for instance 22:00 to Midnight (instead of Midnight to 02:00). Once again, a million thanks to the excellent staff! You were all so hospitable, kind, accommodating, courteous, efficient, and proactive, with a strong work ethic. Kudos to: Farouk and Ziad ~Guest Services~; Wafaa and Byron ~Front Desk~; Raja and Vishal ~Rasa~; Dhanushka and Sharon ~Mr. Tailor Steakhouse~; Diyorbek, Simran and Juraev ~Crust & Lobby Lounge~; Putra, Hmue, Hacer, Ian, Yaren, Ada, and Nadia ~Farmhouse~; Suleman and Tusar ~Concierge~.
