-Rooms are basic but have aircon. There is no wifi or even phone reception anywhere in the camp. -Breakfast and dinner are ok to above average but acceptable considering the remote location and level of pricing. Simple drinks (pepsi, mountain view, bottled water, coffee/tea are free). -The Camp is 5 mins walk away from high sand dunes. The pathway up is steep and its best to climb barefoot. There is a rope to help you ascend up to the top of the dunes. Would suggest walking up for sunrise (very early!) or sunset views, although sunset is generally better as the lighting is optimal and the sands glow a beautiful ochre from late afternoon onwards. -the Common area has a ping pong table but most of the bats are in terrible condition - they should really refurbish the table. -We didn't try activities such as camel riding, dune bashing, para-motoring etc as we have done similar activities in other deserts before. You may want to try these as there is otherwise nothing else to do in this area. Service is ok but not proactive, they didn't tell us what activities/facilities were available in the camp at the time of check-in, or that we could walk to the top of the dunes for example. We had to go back and ask the reception, which is quite odd. - Overall the property offers good value as decent non-luxury options are rather limited within the desert.

Sama Al Wasil is one of the better options to stay in the sands. The camp is very green with lots of activities like quad bike, dune bashing etc. The standard rooms are very small and very basic with very uncomfortable sitting arrangement in the balcony of the room. The price feels steep as the dinner and breakfast are also quite average. Their camel meat bbq is great ( according to my 10yr old).

We stayed one night in this camp. Accommodation is very large and authentic. Food was ok. Location is perfect it's just a short 5 minutes walk to the top of the dunes nearby ! Don't miss the sunset. Loved this place.

In middle of the dessert, this camp is stunning. there are high dunes behind the camp, where you can climb up and enjoying the sunset. The huts are in old oman stile and very cozy. There are no bedside lamps
