Characterful, clean and perfect location. Situated around the corner but so close to everything that is going on. Perfect. Sam is the perfect host. Helpful, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humour too. The breakfast is gorgeous. I highly recommend staying here and look forward to my next visit!

We had an amazing 5 day stay at Baffa house and it is what made our trip to Beirut really special. The guest house is quiet and peaceful despite being in a perfect location for bars and restaurants; beautifully decorated with original art and fresh flowers. Samer is a very welcoming host; he helped us get our bearings in Beirut with recommendations, organised a trip out of the city for us and as many others have mentioned served fantastic and varied Lebanese breakfasts every day. After help in the mornings we were left to enjoy the communal spaces, such as the balconies, like it was our own home. Rooms simple but with nice artistic touches and had everything we needed (except a hairdryer.. they may have had one to borrow but not in the room, I didn’t need one enough to ask) Separate but privately accessed bathrooms - nicely decorated and with a good shower. All-in-all a fantastic place to stay!

We had a great time at Baffa house. The host is very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. He serves a marvelous breakfast full of tasty treats. He is a helpful guide for information about both Beirut and the rest of Lebanon. After our stay we feel we have a friend in Beirut.

Baffa House and its host, Samer, were such an integral part of what made our trip to Lebanon so special. Every morning, guests are greeted with a delicious spread of home-cooked specialties. Samer is great in every way, gracious and hospitable and patient, helping our group of 8 plan every detail of our itinerary. From favourite areas to sourcing drivers and recommending authentic places to eat, Samer was truly a wonderful host - our chats over breakfast were the best. Baffa House is beautiful. Having been in the family for years, the building itself is airy and open and bright, with high ceilings and homey comforts you would never get in a chain, or even a boutique, hotel. Samer credits the incredible interior choices to his wife Jessica - it's eye-candy for those that appreciate great design. The area (Mar Mikhael) is where you want to be. All the best and most hip restaurants, cafes, bars and shops are located here. Armenia street is right behind the building, which is a fun street to walk down all the way into downtown. If you're planning day trips to other parts of Lebanon, the farthest away you'll drive is 2 hours - so we based ourselves at Baffa House and it was perfect. All in all, if you're visiting Beirut/Lebanon, do yourself 2 favours and you're all set: 1) Buy Monocle's guide to Beirut and use that to plan 2) Book your stay at Baffa House ASAP! Can't wait to visit again.

Baffa House is perfectly located near a lot of restaurants in all styles and price levels, cosy shops, and attractions. The place is very stylish and fresh, with cosy terraces and a smart living room. The bedrooms are very comfortable and with efficient aircondition. The wifi is good and included, and this is important for travellers as mobile data is expensive. The breakfast can compete with anything, and is a great experience of fresh Lebanese produce. Every day for six days we had something new and very tasty for breakfast. The host, Samer, arranged excursions, suggested places to visit, booked restaurants and facilitated our stay both before we arrived and every morning of our stay. This is one of the best experiences we have ever had in a hotel/guesthouse!
