Disclaimer: I've travelled to 50+ countries and have extensive hosteling experience, but this is by far the worst place I've ever booked. When I first arrived, the reception area stank of dog urine and there were no staff to be seen, although there were lots of guests hanging around the lounge smoking and drinking. I wandered around and after 10... More

I have been a lot of hostels so far. But this one was the best. People are so friendly and its a good place to meet new people and hear different stories from travellers all around the world. I really enjoyed my staying in there.

Staying at hostel Beirut was a wise move! Me and my friend had an incredible time in Beirut thanks mostly to the new friends we met in the hostel and all the trips we did with them and Mohammed, the driver who usually works with the hostel who is an amazing tour guide! The atmosphere in the hostel is very... More

I was very excited to be staying at this hostel at first. It has awesome reviews and it looks appealing. But I was sad to discover that this place is not the best hostel. Staff was friendly but not professional. It was like they were hanging out on the job; the hostel was always messy and they didn't lift a... More

Really friendly hostel, great for solo travelers. Its right in the heart of the most fun part of the city. Good communal areas and kitchen, perfect for meeting fellow travelers. Staff were supper friendly, even joined us on a trip to Baalbek!

These types of hostels don't exist anymore. I booked 3 days stayed for 7. It's a 5 minute walk to the bar district of mar Michael. I had a private room with balcony. The guidebook states the place as expect the basics. They are right but the place has so much character. I checked out the other hostel, safi urban... More

You get what you pay for, so no extra frills, but nice people and good family-style dinners in the evenings (6€). Electricity and warm water is a luxury in Beirut, so somethimes there are shortages. Very cool weather this time of year and there is no proper heating (just heat lamps). Wifi is not very strong, so it is difficult... More
