I stayed there during the weekend of 5/8 - 5/11, for vacation purposes. I was visiting Lebanon for two weeks, mostly in the South rural area, and decided to make a small getaway to explore Beirut.

First, great deal for the price. I live in the states and I could never dream of receiving that kind of deal in that type of hotel. It's like renting a Mercedes for the price of a Ford Fusion.

Second, Location was great! It's a block away from Hamra street, so really you will never get lost. FYI....Beirut does not have street signs, so you'll have to know certain streets and take directions by landmarks. The fact that it sits on a street one block parallel to Hamra street would come in VERY handy. It is a 15 minute walk from the Raouche area. It's two blocks away from the barbar fast food spots! There is so much shopping around you. I suggest to explore the Hamra district while you're there.

Third, the King size bed I got to sleep in felt fantastic. The room I received was pretty clean, housekeeping was on top of it. They also replace the complimentary bottled water, which was pretty sweet. The wi-fi worked pretty great. It would cut out occasionally, but they're not charging you for the wi-fi, so no complaining.

Fourth, the service was great. They were super nice to me. They do speak great English and French, so no problem in that department.

The negative.....the telephone line at the time did not work. I did not care because I never really needed to use it. Also the bathroom lock did not work. I didn't care because I was by myself.

Also a rooster and a chicken woke me up. Did not expect from a very urban city, but that's Beirut for you!

Some advice....cab drivers overcharge tourists. So step a few blocks away before hailing a cab. I speak fluent Arabic(I'm American-raised Lebanese) and I only got overcharged once as I left the hotel. I was in a hurry and wasn't paying attention.
They offer breakfast there, but I would recommend exploring. Beirut has so much to offer. If you want a quick meal on the go, I recommend going to barbar.

I was booked in this hotel while on business travel so didn't quite know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Le Commodore is a rather big hotel but I found the service to be personal and very attentive. The common areas are pleasant and the poole area looked very nice although I didn't get to use it as it was quite the wrong time of the year. The breakfast is good and varied.
My room was on the main facade, overlooking the street, yet I did not have any issues with noise either from outdoors or from the corridors. I had a standard room, which was very large, with comfortable bed, nice little armchair and work-table area, big wardrobes and large terrace. Furniture was a bit tired but the room was clean and tidy. The bathroom was very spacious and there were plenty of complimentary toiletries.
Finally, the location is perfect, right in the heart of the Hamra district, surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars.
Really recommendable.

My first time of staying at this hotel.
Location: Hamra, safe and vibrant with restuarants and shops
staff: Polite and friendly
Breakfast was good. General impression was very good and I will stay in the same hotel again and again. The only issue was with the internet which was not stable most of the time, but they are generous by giving you password for all your gadgets.

The AC was not working though they said during the checking in that the AC is working. After couple of times calling the reception to send the maintenance guy to check on the AC in our room, we found out that they turned the AC off to cut costs.
Do not go there.
It should be ranked a one star hotel!

Great stay as usual when visiting Beirut. Centrally located and accessible to all parts of Beirut within minutes. Rooms are spacious and most are newly remodeled.

24/7 power zero issues.

Staff is very friendly and well trained. Thanks to Malek, Issam and the front desk for making our stay comfortable as usual.

See you next time!

I'm an American women and I'm not used to being treated as a second class citizen. This hotel was RUDE from the very start. First off, upon entering, alone, as my male companions were paying the taxi, I was assaulted by the security guard. He mumbled under his breath and kept hitting my arm over and over again. I just stood there waiting for him to choose a language to explain what he needed but he never did. Finally I decided he wanted to look in my bag, and I let him. None of my male companions were searched, just me. I then asked at the front desk an obvious question "will you be searching my suitcases" I asked because I wanted to be present for it, I was not going to allow a hotel to go through my bags without me present. The man at the front desk pretended not to understand my question, he was more offended that I had put the hotel in my name and wanted to pay on my card while traveling with my father and husband. He REFUSED to deal with me or answer any of my questions for the remainder of my stay, he would only speak to my father.
The problems continued as our room had no internet, we spent over 4 hours trying to get the hotel to fix this problem. It took extra long as they would only deal with my elderly father who knows nothing about trouble shooting internet connection. When I tried to speak to Mustaffa (their IT guy) he gave the hand gesture of "shut up"!! He would not be dealing with me. SERIOUSLY! if you are female you are not welcome here. I would never let anyone I know make the mistake of staying here. Please, if you love the women you are traveling with go elsewhere.
Also, it was not clean there were pee stains in the marble all around the toilet and I found it disgusting.

I stayed there from 15 Aug to 19 Aug. Very bad service. Poor breakfast. You need to remind them 4-8 times to do your request. Very slow internet. It is very old hotel and I believe it’s need a full renovation with new management. Not recommended.

Terrible experience. I made the same booking by mistake for a day from 2 different bookings pages. Even if my bookings were showing in their system as same booking, same person, same hotel, staff refused to help me. They asked me to contact booking.com because they can’t do anything about it. After i was in touch with booking.com i was told that hotel is the only one who can help me change the stay(i didn’t ask for refund i asked for change of dates!!!!!!). Staff extremly useless, it was very difficult for me to even have a conversation with them because i went trough a surgery a day before and i was there to recover. After 2 days of me trying to talk and explain my situation they told me there’s nothing they can do about it even if my reservation appeared in their system booked twice !!!!! They refused. The duty manager Mazen was even super rude and laughed in my face telling me it’s not his duty of solving such issues. I decided to check out and booked another hotel because there was no point to extend in a hotel that my money was stolen. At check out they told me it s okay i can extend another day for free. I m just speechless of such customer service, after having to go through many arguments with 3 of the staff and to be told it s nothing they can help with. I came there to recover after a surgery not to have useless arguments with the reception staff! Terrible experience. Terrible managment. They could have helped me from day one, they didn t want!!!! I definetly don’t recommend just because the rudeness of the staff.

Rooms are ok but they smell very bad. If you’re non smoker you will feel it.

I was charged twice for the room on my card . Despite having an email from one of their staff saying I would be refunded in two weeks back in November I am still waiting for my refuned. I have called the hotel on numerous occasions and often told the managers are not on and to call back later . The situation has been very badly dealt with and it is unlikely I will receive my refund .

I stayed at this hotel twice, . I will definitely never repeat this hotel as it promises a 5 star hotel service, yet offers nothing even close to that. It is a shame to call this hotel a 5 star hotel. My experience in October was good which led to me repeating the hotel. , once i checked in, the receptionist told me that the mini bar is complementary, and i thanked him and went up to my room. The mini bar didn't contain any alcohol, which is usually the case when the mini bar is complementary in any 5 star hotel. I used some sodas, juices and one kitkat bar which was actually expired. How can there be an expired kitkat in a 5 star hotel?? Where every detail must be paid attention to? When i checked out, the receptionist handed me a receipt of around $70 for the mini bar (including the expired kitkat) and then they removed it from the list . I told him that i was told that the mini bar was complementary but he claimed that it is impossible. I even told him that in my previous stay (October) i used a lot of items from the mini bar and wasn't charged for any of them. I paid the $70, and the receptionist's entire attitude changed as soon as his payments were settled. The issue here, isn't the money, the issue at hand is the inconsistency in service and the inability to grasp the fact that the customer is always right in these situations as there is no reason why i would make anything of that sort up. I called for the duty manager, and he claims that it is impossible that the receptionist told me that it was complementary, once again painting me as a liar. Once I arrived to my home country, I received a call from guest relations where she claimed that I caused problems for the hotel and once again painting me as a liar and insisting that I am wrong. This is definitely not the way that a 5 star hotel should work, this service is very bad and unpleasant. The attitude of the employees is terrible. A staff at a 5 star hotel should apologize for the inconvenience and for their mistake of misinforming me, and either not let me pay as a price of their mistake or make it up to me in another way. The fact that the staff constantly didn't believe me even though I have no reason to lie, I paid and have nothing to gain or to lose. A 5 star hotel should provide an relaxin luxurious experience where the customers wants are met and the customer is treated with respect. That is certainly not what you would get at Commodore hotel.
and also they had problem with ac and i was told thats what he have for all we control the ac not you really bad bad hote
