Detailed Reviews
The reviews all looked good but I stayed here as part of a tour and I cannot recommend it. When we arrived, it took them 4 rooms to get one that was worth staying in. Problems with the shower, water pressure, and heat. They did eventually find one and that was appreciated. However, after traveling all day, having to go through all of those rooms to find one with basic services was unacceptable. One of the other members had dirty sheets in the room and another one had a major problem with her laundry. Breakfast was nothing special. We had a catered dinner from the restaurant. Again, nothing special. I'm sure there are other hotels in Madaba of the same class that do a better job than this one.

Mariam Hotel is definitely a bit dated, but in general it’s not a bad hotel. There were a lot of positive aspects during my stay, but I have to be honest about the negatives too, which I will elaborate on later.
Firstly location is excellent. Everything is within walking distance, and you’re surrounded by a multitude of cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores.
I didn’t really converse a lot with the staff, but everyone seemed friendly enough.
Breakfast was quite substantial, and I really liked that most items were clearly labelled.
There are filtered water stations throughout the building where you can refill your water bottles for free.
WiFi was very good.
My room was spacious, comfortable, and despite being a little worn around the edges - it was clean. Bedding and towels smelled fresh.
Now for the negative issues, which I feel I need to be honest about so you can make an informed choice about booking based on facts:
I was there for 2 nights, during my stay I had 4 showers - 3 of which were freezing cold. I thought maybe this was due to the water being heated by solar panels, as the only time I had a relatively warm shower was at around 4pm. If this is the case, good luck during the winter months!
The wardrobe/cupboard had a damp musty smell. I was going to hang some clothes up, but decided not to. There was also a blanket in there which I was going to use, but that smelt like mildew.
Maybe I just got unlucky with my room, as plenty of other people seemed to really enjoy their stay. But because of what I experienced I would not stay here again, not unless the management could guarantee these issues had been resolved.

Thank you for your booking. We don't use Soler for heating water. Your room recently renovated. It just not much use of the rooms makes water stay cold in the pipeline. It takes few minutes to keep running to get hot water. We noticed this problem recently happened and we adding now more pumps to make it faster.

Good basic hotel fare with friendly staff.
Maybe a bit pricey off-season at 40 JOD per night but the location is ideal for an essy exit from the city with access tk Kings Highway /Desert Highway and airport whuch is about 30mins away. Don't expect luxury or great views.

Stayed here for 2 nights before trek in Wadi Rum and Petra and 2 nights after. The rooms are basic but spotless with a/c and TV
The breakfast is ok but in a lovely rooftop location. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the snacks and beers are fairly cheap compared to the local restaurants. Their trip prices are very competitive and the drivers charming. Good location for central Madaba. Whole heartedly recommend for budget travellers.

We booked one night, our last before flying home from Queen Alia early the next morning. As such, we left before breakfast, so no comments about that. Very inexpensive room.
The hotel is clean. And it also smells clean.
Our room had a balcony above the pool which I'm certain at the right time of day and year is lovely. The location is fine. Not as close to the main sites as some, nor on a quiet street which is both an advantage (less noise) and a disadvantage (walking around at night alone on unlit streets.)
The hotel has a real youth hostel vibe; dingy lighting, pay in full at check in, signs advertising trips and a price list for drinks by the pool.
We had prearranged a driver to the airport, who the front desk clerk was trying to dissuade from picking us up, in favor of taking us himself.

Hello Thank you for staying with us. We arrange taxi to airport only if you ask and it cost Jd 16. We do not have own cars or any of our employees use his car to do transfer to airport. I am sure you misunderstood this. We have no such business. We arrange transportations free of commission for very good price as free service to our guests.

I stayed two times at Mariam Hotel during my Jordan trip, and I could not have done my journey and itinerary without the fantastic team of Mariam Hotel who kindly and patiently organized several individual taxi transfers for me, from Umm Qais to Madaba on a Friday, to Feynan with a stop at the Dead Sea, from Amman to Madaba, and from Madaba to the Airport. This involved a lot of communication, which was always smooth, fast, and reliable, and I am very grateful to Mr. Charl Twal and his colleagues for their fantastic organization! The hotel is conveniently located and very nice, with very clean rooms and delicious breakfast on the rooftop floor with plenty of choices, and all staff members I met were very welcoming and accommodating. My heartfelt thanks!

It's a 2-star hotel so set your expectations accordingly. I happen to love it and have stayed there for a total of 6 weeks over time. The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, and the service about as attentive and friendly as you could ask for anywhere. They will help you find shopping and tours and restaurants and, since I was there at a time of COVID rules, they even arranged for the mandatory PCR test required to return to the US. The lab tech came to the hotel, and a few hours later, the results were faxed to the hotel, printed, and handed over to me. Even if you don't need that kind of attention, you will find help for more ordinary questions and needs, like taxi to the airport or drivers for tours.

We slept two nights in this hotel. Modest, but equipped with all comforts, it is located 10-15 minutes walk from tourist attractions.
It also has a small private car park where you can leave your car to move around the city on foot.
Very good breakfast (included) to enjoy on the hotel terrace. The swimming pool and the pool area are beautiful where you can enjoy a good dinner (we ate the vegetable and chicken tajine).
Excellent value for money.

For some reason the heating has been turned off in this hotel. We were able to use the air conditioning units in the bedrooms as heaters but they needed to be on all night to make a difference and the heat did not extend to the bathrooms, making showering a very unpleasant experience. Our room was fairly clean bu the windowsill in our bathroom had not been cleaned for months. Breakfast was not very appetising and eaten in a freezing cold dining room.

It's about half an hour (but we drived during the night without traffic) the hotel ask me about 20 euro for the transfer with 2 adults and 2 children. You're welcome.
Hello,
Once you are in Madaba come to us and we will give you the map.
Hi there. There is a daily bus to Petra leaving from Amman early in the morning. I am not sure where you would pick it up if staying at Madaba. A taxi ride to Amman from Madaba is inexpensive and can be arranged by Charl at Hotel Mariam. We chose to go to Petra from Madaba by private car with a driver arranged by Charl. It has the advantage that you can make a diversion to umm al rasas (well worth a visit) and to Kerac Castle. Set price of around 70 - 80 JD.
"Closer to the lobby the better, for WiFi. Also it has only one elevator that can get busy, so lower floors might be preferable."Read full review
