Detailed Reviews
My wife and I spent five nights in Bellevue hotel in early April 2007. Our standard room was very spacious, with a large bathroom, a small sitting area, a huge bed and a large closet. Mini bar was typical, but we didn't use it anyway. TV had a large choice of channels, most of them in Arabic but a handful in English too. Sheets and towels were changed daily, and the room was spotless. The hotel is conveniently located in Amman's 2nd Circle, with easy access (20 mins walk) to downtown and very close to top restaurants and bars. Breakfast was nothing special, but everything was well prepared. The only downside is the high cost of hotel booked transportation from the airport: it's JD 25, which is high compared to the flat price of JD 15 for a taxi. On our last night we noticed that a group of about 10 persons were waiting in the lounge, due to an overbooking error, which according to the hotel manager was the travel agent's fault.
Overall, Bellevue hotel is highly recommended for its location, services and value for money. I would definetely stay there again.

The Bellevue is ideally located for the sights of Amman. The hotel is maybe 3 star, its spotlessly clean, nicely furnished, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast buffet, while simple, had everything a traveller needs for a hard days sightseeing. Not a lot of English spoken by the staff but that's part of the experience and gave me a change to practice my basic Arabic on them.
A 20 walk downhill from the hotel takes you to the downtown market area which has all sorts of Aladdin's Cave type shops, knock off cds and dvds, food and atmosphere galore. Machine embroidered galabayas were 25JD.

Great location.. all the nice cafe's and restaurants are near by.
The room was large with a separate sitting area and sleeping area. The bathroom had the most fantastically large window facing out over the city but the shower leaked and drenched the floor and was never more than luke warm.
The breakfast area was very chilly in the morning.. and most people were sat with their coats on.. not exactly what you expect in a four star hotel.
Nothing majorly offensive but the rooms were shabby as was most of the hotel.

Common areas and the dining room do not have heat and are not clean. Bathroom and bedroom smell of cigarette smoke and are not scrubbed well. Internet connection doesn’t work in room and neither does it work in the business center. Do not stay here.

The Belle Vue has the atmosphere of a good hotel that has just been let gown downhill. The rooms are large if not opulent but are full of damaged furniture and décor plus the communal areas are a bit shabby.
The location is good, near both Rainbow Street and a number of supermarkets. The staff are friendly and willing to help though they might need a bit of pushing to do things.

Hotel was booked by friends in Amman.
Stay 1.Initially the hotel looked like a typical 4 star establishment. After being checked in in the lobby went up to the room - suite.Room still being cleaned 4pm!! Carpet on landing disgusting & stained. No hot water in shower.Took ages for luggage to come up.Like 1.5hrs.Nice views. In room meal - very poor quality.Had to get technician to fix refrigerator. Some staff friendly others not so, especially guy at reception.Breakfast average.Toaster was broken.Conveniently located to shopping down the hill.
Stay 2.Smaller room but ok.Couldn't see out the windows for dirt on glass.Rather tired looking in public areas.Furniture to big for lounge TV area.Had to jump around it.Electric kettle boiled and emptied over the dresser.Plugged in charger and short circuited all power in the room.Electrician reset breaker.
Good gift shop but really the hotel reminded us of Fawlty Towers on the TV.
Price was ok but they demanded payment in full each nite - they put a note under the door.
Room clean & beds ok.

Big room, great breakfast selection. Convenient 15 min walk downhill to the Downtown area and close to Rainbow St. You might want to get a taxi back up the hill though.
The carpets in the common areas are revoltingly stained and tired looking for a hotel of this class. Front desk staff were pretty useless and after waiting 30 mins for our luggage, I ended up going back down and getting it myself.

We stayed on 2 separate nights in this hotel , the second one purely because it was pre- booked by others in our small group.
It is old , much in need of renovation. A major problem is that the lifts don't serve the restaurant floor which necessitates using grubby rear stairs to access it. Either one floor up or one floor down.Hard for anyone with mobility difficulties.
I left my (irreplaceable) hot brush behind the first night and telephoned the same day but it never saw light of day again.
I appreciate that everyone is struggling with the economic situation in Jordan because of the activities of their neighbours but this hotel must pay attention to its fabric if it is to attract overseas clients.

The hotel is well positioned in the city and has very helpful staff but is in need of maintenance and new furnishings. Our room had a comfortable bed with cotton bed linen and despite being a suite had only a single wardrobe for clothes storage. There are no tea/coffee making facilities. The food is ok and reasonable price.

No. There is no parking facility. But you could use local cabs. Avoid tourist taxis. They are very expensive.
