The Grand Palace Amman has seen better days. The carpets in rooms and hallways need cleaning or replacing. The rooms are tired and the bedding awful. No mattress protectors and stained sheets. Beds are uncomfortable. Chairs in dining room have passed their use by dates. Would not recommend this place to anybody

Stayed 2 nights with tour group, nice hotel on busy road although noise is not too bad , located a walk from shops , clean bug rooms and bathroom, good breakfast selection, next door has the indoor pool and a roof top bar, well worth a look for view at night , plus trader vice next door was good for a drink and food.

The men in the lobby were very unhelpful in helping me get a taxi ... they sent me out the front to hail a yellow cab which I was unable to do. It would have been helpful to ring one for me. I sent a very expensive linen dress for washing and ironing and they damaged it ... all of the black buttons down the front had most of the surface taken off ... revealing the underlaying silver. Unfortunately I didn't look at the dress properly until we'd left Amman. As a vegan their meals in the hotel were quite lacking ... in talking to the chef it was apparent that he'd never heard of vegan. The food generally in the hotel was average.

We just returned from a tour of Jordan that started and ended at this hotel. Coming from the US, we wanted a couple days on both ends of the trip to relax before starting/ending our vacation. I read the reviews on this hotel and was concerned. After staying this past week, I wanted to make sure to share my experience. The staff there was beyond wonderful and made us feel very welcome. They were helpful when we had questions and even brought us special coffee and snacks when we would be sitting in the lounging area. The rooms do need to be updated, and it was a box TV - but they were very clean, well stocked, large, everything worked, and the bathroom was quite lovely. The rooftop pool was by far our favorite. The view is amazing and the pool was large enough for laps and cooling down.

Webjet tours use from Australia use this hotel as their Jordan base. It was clean & well presented. Large rooms & the buffets were well done. The staff are friendly! My only complaint is that there are no balconies.
