The Intercontinental Amman, an IHG Hotel, is frequently lauded by guests for its spotless rooms that come equipped with modern amenities, contributing to the hotel's inviting atmosphere complemented by good music and a warm ambiance. While the central location is ideal for guests keen on exploring local attractions on foot, the hotel's array of amenities, including multiple dining options and pools, also stands out.
Although the experience is generally seen as offering good value due to the high-quality rooms and excellent service, some guests do caution about the occasional presence of unpleasant odors and high prices.

Detailed Reviews
Yesterday , August 31st 2024, we had a wonderful experience at Burj Al Hamam for our Class of '75 reunion from Bishop School. Our group of 13 enjoyed a delicious dinner, with every dish full of authentic Lebanese flavors.
The service was outstanding, thanks to the great management by Mr. Majdi and Mr Muneer. Mr. Rami, who took care of our table, was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. His friendly and thoughtful service added to the positive experience.
Overall, Burj Al Hamam provided excellent food and service, making our reunion a night to remember. We highly recommend it for a great dining experience.

The hotel is beautiful and the service is amazing. I stayed for 3 nights for a conference and the attention and kindness of the staff was superb. The included breakfast was diverse and delicious, and the facilities in the spa are great to unwind. Christeen in the front desk was so nice when she learned my airport shuttle would pick me up late and helped me get a great late checkout so I could wait for it in the comfort of my room. The housekeeping man (I didn’t get his name, unfortunately) in the 6th floor was very friendly and checked in on me anytime he saw me walking the corridor of the room. I hope to be back to stay in this beautiful hotel soon. Shukran!

Very nice hotel. Impeccable service. Large room and perfect cleaning. Very courteous and helpful staff. Large swimming pool, perfect location with the possibility of walking out to nearby restaurants and shops. The limousine service allowed us to benefit from a driver with the hotel vehicle to go to PETRA then WADI RUM at a very reasonable price. I recommend this hotel and will not hesitate to return there if I come back to AMMAN.

Amman strikes me as not easily conducive to walking, so the Intercon is not far from the tourist sights by car. Security is the first thing that strikes you, even to the point the Uber can’t drop you right at the front door. New section has nice rooms, but the older section is tired. Comprehensive gym and pool area.
We had executive Club access, which is nice looking and had very few guests. Staff were very polite there, but not actively forthcoming with service. For example, choices of snacks or happy hour food was very limited and the snack buffet quite small. Staff would offer one alcoholic drink and never returned to refill or clear the table, even though there were 3 staff and 6 guests in the Club. There was no tray of glasses to encourage self-service and all cold wines were hidden away. But staff were so friendly, we couldn’t make a fuss. But please take the feedback that we could have felt so much more welcome if drinks and food were more forthcoming, even if only during happy hour.
Breakfast buffet at the restaurant was better than the Club. Overall clean and welcoming, the stay was comfortable but uninspiring.

I was in Amman for a training workshop and stayed at this hotel for a week.
I loved the muted tones and understated furnishings in the room. The fact that I could open the windows when I wanted a bit of fresh air helped. There are lovely shops in the hotel vicinity but I did not visit them since I felt they were above my price range.
The breakfast spread would cater to anyone's taste. Do not miss the strawberry juice, and try to have breakfast before 8 am to avoid the crowds. I managed to try out almost all of the restaurants and would highly recommend the Lebanese restaurant.
There is a huge and well-equipped gym that is open 24/7 and a nice indoor pool.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only negative observation I have is with regard to the bathroom. The bathroom, like the rest of the room, was elegant. However, whoever was cleaning my bathroom could have cleaned the sink more thoroughly.

I can’t say enough good things about the Intercontinental. The hotel itself is safe, clean, and of the highest quality. I look forward to the complimentary breakfast every day. It is always delicious! The gym is surprisingly well equipped—I’ve never seen a hotel with an actual bench press. The location is wonderful. Being walking distance to rainbow street puts you within reach of incredible restaurants, downtown, and even Amman Citadel. The real star of the show, however, is the staff. Literally everyone is super nice, and I am genuinely happy to see them every day. I wish I knew all of their names, but the security staff always greets me with a smile, the entire breakfast staff goes out of their way to make sure I’m taken care of no matter how busy it gets. The hosts find me a seat and get my usual coffee order going immediately. The omelette station is fast and convenient. The chef even brings out homemade recipes that are amazing. The laundry service is always prompt and happy to see me. Abed in housekeeping seriously goes above and beyond to make sure I have what I need in my room—especially water! Anything I need, he finds it. The best part is they are all very patient in my attempts to speak Arabic. I really appreciate it. It may sound crazy, but it really does feel like a family. They are just warm, genuinely good people. It is not typical hotel hospitality. It’s something special.

There is just not enough positive words to say about this place. I am sure you all know, regardless of how nice the facilities are, if the staff is not attentive and responsive then amenities count for not. From the Mercedes airport service from the Queen Alia Int Airport I gained a sense of true cultural awareness and appreciation for Jordan's biblical history. At the hotel, just a 3 minute check in after an intercontinental flight, was must appreciated. I received calls from the management weekly, to check on services, the room service food was always HOT, ice brought to the room within 5 minutes, every time! The Front Desk Manager Mr Shawwa, greeted me in the lobby or outside on the grounds at least 3 times week, inquiring as to how my stay was going. In fact, because of this gentlemen, I am now a Diamond Elite IGH member! The valets, greeting you every day, are courteous, kind and offer the greatest respects regardless of the car you drive. Service is complimentary for guests, at least it was for me. The restaurants on the ground floor, offer some of Amman's finest foods, and service is always with a smile and pleasant but not too engaging conversation. I requested a room upgrade, and they held that room for 2 days due to my hectic work schedule, no pressure at all. The Club lounge staff, I swear, they are trained mind readers, bring you your beverage of choice before you even ask. Though I wish they had a salad bar, but I digress. The Concierge staff, full of smiles and soliciting any needs you may have from how to order food online, where to get a SIM card, PCR test scheduling, transportation..... they have it nailed down shut. The pool, is soothing and there is always some event going on here. Even my room service attendant Mr Sulemin, furnished any items he could, DAILY, and I do go through a lot of coffee and water. I always had my favorite soap, lemongrass available in surplus because he, like the rest the staff in every department, are trained to anticipate a guest needs. Even at breakfast, I never had to ask for a cup of coffee to go, it was brought to me every morning for 3 months. Speaking of breakfast, many many options, healthy and otherwise. I would have to say that though this hotel is older, the staff makes all the difference. If I return to Jordan, I hope I can stay here again. Just cant say enough about the staff. Well done. Many hotels in the USA could learn a lot from these guys and gals!

The two words that would describe Intercontinental Amman aptly are Elegant and Beautiful. What an absolutely delightful hotel!
The check in/check out was smooth and hassle free. The lobby, by the way, is so beautiful. There are gorgeous ceramic art pieces decorating walls all around this huge lobby. A beautiful baby grand was sitting on one side and I hoped someone would be playing it each time I walked in or out of the lobby.
The staff here were so professional and attentive.
Our concierge was extremely efficient and confirmed our tour/car/driver arrangements at the check in. We opted to include the Intercontinental Lounge in our package which was a brilliant decision in hindsight. It’s a lovely and elegantly decorated space with a most courteous wait staff, beautiful buffet of freshly prepared food that was beautifully presented throughout the day.
You can order through an additional menu as well. My husband utilized the menu for hot main items for breakfast and supper and enjoyed it a lot.
Our room was spacious with modern and sleek built in bureau and desk. I appreciated the high ceilings and large windows. The complimentary toiletries, plush robes, quality coffee maker, assortment of teas and an electric kettle, and a locker in the wardrobe were standard amenities.
I appreciated a sweet treat of local desserts and fruit along with free drinks sent to our room when there was a misunderstanding regarding our lounge access. It was rectified immediately in an efficient manner.
I tried out room service after a long day out and was quite happy with the prompt service, beautiful presentation and deliciously prepared food.
We had the hotel arrange for our sightseeing trips too.
The concierge gave us good advice regarding our day trip to Petra and provided us with a most agreeable driver and a luxury car which made our drive to and from Petra an absolute delight.
The hotel is situated in a quiet and high end part of town and we felt very comfortable walking around to explore the area.
We opted to walk around one night to stretch our legs and found a popular restaurant, Al Siran, that offered authentic local fare. I enjoyed the experience of dining with the locals and appreciated the proximity to our hotel as well.
We did not have the time in our short trip, unfortunately, to try out the beautiful restaurants in the hotel or the Spa that looked extremely nice, but I sure hope to go back again soon for an extended stay.
We had the hotel arrange for our drive back to the airport as well and they took care of everything efficiently.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this elegant hotel and I highly recommend it for its location, comfortable rooms, quality amenities, most efficient staff, and excellent service. I look forward to going back one day soon.
