I was a little concerned based on the reviews, but was very pleasantly surprised. From a price to value perspective, this boutique is better than many of the other properties we have stayed at. High quality toiletries, friendly staff and our executive suite was large and well appointed with a balcony and excellent bed linens and towels. Don't expect a lot of services, but for the independent traveler who is on a 4* budget and wants to stay in a premier location in Tel Aviv, the Alma deserves serious consideration!
My parents recently stayed at this hotel. When they booked, they were told the rooftop and restaurant would be open. My parents, in turn, overlooked that the hotel was dark and miserable, and thought that if the rooftop was open it would be acceptable. They arrived to the same miserable hotel where unfortunately the rooftop and restaurant were not open per their expectations. To make matters worse, they received an early check-in at 12pm instead of 3pm. The hotel staff charged them for the early check-in eventhough they specifically said they would not at the time of booking. When my parents complained the hotel were inflexible. This despite the fact that the reservation was for 12 nights prepaid. Lastly, on check in they wanted to charge an additional 300 shekel per day incase of any breakages. Besides the fact that the charge is, in and of itself is completely outrageous, the room is in such bad condition that everything is broken anyway. This is not a nice property and the staff’s attitude is anything but welcoming.…
New restaurant - all the elements to become a really great restaurant - only opened a week or so and finding their feet - wine list still to be printed Food was top notch on a par with other top kosher dairy restaurants in Tel Aviv - flavours really came out in the food and dishes were well composed by a chef who really understands food. Novel ideas like Fish Cigars with a curry sauce, excellent Tuna Tataki (portion was quite small), great cheese ravioli with each ravioli filled with different cheese, great fish - sushi which we did not order looked amazing with the chef’s own slant. Only one desert - an amazing millefeuille - with crime brûlée style filling - a work of genius. Still work in progress - good now - but it is going to be great
Stayed her for a night. It was cute for a boutique 3.5 star hotel. This is NOT a 5 star establishment by any means. Very misleading, and frankly feels like something is shady with this ranking. The only 5 star thing about this place is location. The rooms are cute, a little dated, in dire need of deep cleaning. Front desk are like deer in the headlights. Zero hospitality experience. There is no spa/ gym/ room service/concierge. You basically get someone to check you in, a room key, and the room. Feels fraudulent.
We have been there 3 couples for late breakfast and we all enjoyed our stay, every one took something else and were happy with their choices... The staff (Shirly and Ariel) were very efficient and charming, as well as the barman:-) The price was very reasonable and the place was clean and quite, We shall come again for sure! Jose
Toda raba to the entire team of the Alma Hotel for making our stay so wonderful and special. The staff were outstanding with their support and fulfilling every special wish, from the moment of first contact for the booking until we picked up our suitcases after a day tour in the evening. We felt at home immediately, the room was fabulous as well as the food, the roof top lounge is like a dream come true and the patio with the restaurant like an oasis. We enjoyed our stay from the minute we arrived - actually we did not want to leave again. Merci beaucoup to the entire team for the wonderful time, we will be back for sure!
Room #34. To summarize, the room is not clean. By any standard it is unacceptable, but for what you pay for this “boutique hotel” it’s totally unacceptable. The people at the front desk are somewhere in between disinterested and rude ... they don’t even acknowledge you. You should know, the restaurant and bar are closed Friday through Saturday ... you can’t eat or get a drink at your expensive hotel. I’d give this place two stars. When I can’t even buy a bottle of water I’d give it one star. I asked to pay for my two nights and check out two nights early ... they told me no. Do not waste a penny on this place.
The rooftop bar is superb , overlooking the most attracting area in Tel Aviv . The hippie chic style just matched perfectly the Tel Avian Vibe . The food was incredible, tasty , fresh and full of flavors from Starters to Dessert . But their main strength is the service . Simply the best of Israel!!! They are always smiling , nice, knowledgeable about the menu and have great attention to detail . Special Mention to Marco who was always helpful , professional and made us feel like we were at home. Best rooftop bar in Tel Aviv !!!!
Our room was on the small side, with a good sized bathroom and a lovely balcony. Nicely appointed and the bed was very comfortable. The front desk staff was extremely helpful, allowing us to store our luggage for the day (our flight home was at 11:30 pm) and change in an empty room. Everyone, including those in the lounge were very accommodating. We will stay at Alma Hotel when we visit Tel Aviv again.
One of the nicest hotels I have been in. Excellent location, nice rooms, and very clean. Breakfast was good. The stuff was very helpful and kind. However our room was a bit noisy as it was right above a neighbourhing club.
