The hotel has a great location. It is a 2 minute stroll to the beach and on the other side lots of shops and restaurants. A short bus ride from Jaffa and other touristy places. Good price in Tel Aviv where we found everything expensive. A trade off is our bathroom was so small you could brush your teeth while on the loo.
Buffet breakfast was great with a huge range of local and western options.

I stayed here 3 seperate times over a 2 week period pre & post group tour, and also as part of the tour. The check-in/out is quick & easy, with helpful & efficient staff at reception. They even managed to find me an international adaptor whilst I went shopping for one. The reception staff speak many langauges too. The rooms were all of average size, but were perfect for me (Solo traveller) The beds were all a good size & comfortable. The bathrooms were a bit small, but no real issue. Over-bath showers in each room. The rooms were serviced & cleaned every day, and the whole hotel was always chean.
I used the small, but adequately equiped gym a couple of times (too cold for the pool), there's a small gift shop in the lobby area as well. The restaurant was a good size and had a wide selection of fresh & baked food for breakfasts, and good harty food at dinner time.
The location of the hotel id great with about 100m to the beach, 50m to the bus stops on a main bus route. There's a Post Office only 50m away too.
Overall, it was a great place to stay, in a great lacation, and was good value. I'd happy stay here again.

We really enjoyed our recent 4-night stay here, located literally steps away from the magnificent shoreline. In fact, our room featured a splendid sea view. Most of all, we appreciated the central location, the amazing breakfast buffet (one would be hard-pressed to find one of its equal in terms of variety), the comfortable bed, and the fitness center so I could keep up with my customary exercise while traveling. One morning, a hotel staff member stopped by our breakfast table to ask about our hotel experience and solicit recommendations for improvement. This is a sign the hotel genuinely cares about its guests.

3 generations stayed for 11 nights; the highlights - Friday night dinner, friendliness and helpfulness of some staff e.g. Adrian (and Shwarma), Val Rheinstone, Mohammed on reception - all were great. Location is good too but there were problems:

The reception manager was unable to listen though and although we had requested adjoining rooms she was adamant this was different from interconnecting rooms and insisted on giving us a lesson in our native tongue; she also was really difficult to deal with when we changed from 3 rooms to 2 and had the children with us in our rooms and had hoped this would mean a saving given this was not what we had booked or wanted and were using one room less, she could not have been less helpful and persistent emails to the management have gone unanswered and still do. Being told that if we wanted a child to sleep in our room was an extra 200NIS per night after we had told them that we did not want to continue sleeping on a floor with many birthrighters so on the first night I went out to shush them a few times between 11pm and 3 am is not on. When we arrived the receptionist looked a bit sheepish and explained we may want to change rooms so I doubt this is the first time it has happened.

Clearly birthrighters should have fun and I imagine most people with kids don't want to be woken up throughout the night.

Pool area and gym ok, and some staff members were so lovely, friendly and helpful and knew things that the reception did not know e.g. where to get cherut from.

Given the management weren't replying it shows that there is a lack of leadership here which is such a shame as some of the staff on the ground are really great and the food was great too.

rooms are clean. we had a mini-suite (two rooms with a common door)for 3 person.
Each room has its own set of toilet and bathroom.
Dinner was very tasty and various.
All our requests, like call taxi, directions for driving were answered on the place.

We got a suite for 2 nights on the 11th floor. The hotel has a great location right near the beach and promenade. It is also close to other area amenities. Alexandra and Ronit took great care of us! Reserving taxis for us, answering questions, sending a bellhop on time to bring our luggage, and just being always available and pleasant! The food at the hotel is very good and offers a great variety. Computers with printers are available to guests 24/7 We will definitely return to Metropolitan Hotel now that we know what a great experience it offers for a reasonable rate! Thank you!

My room was a bit flawed. The shower cubicle was small, with a clingy shower curtain. There was heavy rain while I was staying there, and water seeped in around the window frame - the towel I placed on the windowsill was soaked by morning. (This rain was exceptional for Tel Aviv - you are unlikely to experience the same.)

On the other hand, the bed was perfectly comfortable, the staff were very nice, and the breakfast buffet was one of the nicest I've seen - varied and fresh.

We are here for 2 weeks and can't wait to go. The rooms are adequately sized, but badly in need of updating . Air conditioning and heating don't work but the windows do open so you can get fresh air. Bathroom is very small with little shelf space for toothbrushes, makeup and or razor and shaving cream. One elevator has broken down three times so far in our 13 days here. Dining room is clean but food is over dressed, unimanginative, and recycled from meal to meal. Its strawberry season here now. The stores are filled with fresh sweet strawberries. None are to be found on the buffet tables, where the same foods are recycled from meal to meal with just their locations changed. Service is spotty. I think they might try, but fail woefully. Four star? Not on my watch. Barely a 2.

Good hotel, very business oriented. Breakfast is good - unfortunately it is a bit loud at night, with the sounds of neighboring rooms (especially running water).
Masharawi Ahmed and Valentin were very helpful as night guards and very friendly.
