I had a 5 days booked via booking.com - I cancelled the entire Israel trip due to personal reasons but now cannot find a cancellation email from booking, com. I was charged for the full 5 days at $915 and although the hotel resold the room on the 2nd day they refused to give any credit whatsoever. That says something about their policy and lack of accommodation. I followed up with booking.com.
We were surprised on how good this hotel actually was. Good location, great rooms, great breakfast (with a view), and amazing service from the guys in the reception. The location is good with 3 min walk from the Tram that takes you to the main gate to old city.
When our Airbnb reservation was muddled, the staff at the Agripas hotel was more than accommodating and very friendly. They helped us park our cars, get taxis and even clean our greasy windshield! The breakfast was great and the view wonderful. Aladdin was especially helpful!
Not amazing, but perfectly nice and clean. We spent most of the time being out in the city, and for that purpose the hotel was good. Staff was friendly and helpful and we felt good about our stay there.
Let me start off by saying that this is NOT a boutique hotel. It’s old and run down and maybe 2.5-3 stars at best. Cons: -The hotel smells so badly! As soon as you enter the lobby. Not sure what the stench is, but I came close to vomiting every single time I’d enter and it smells within the entire hotel -The rooms are SO small. You can barely get two luggages in the room -The ‘happy hour’ consists of one gross non alcoholic drink and some random cookies that I think are left over from breakfast. Save yourself from going! -The bed sheets are so small and don’t cover the mattress. Nothing nastier than sleeping on a hotel mattress -The coffee machine is always broken so instant coffee is what they offer LASTLY, the customer service is terrible. I’m from North America where customer service is key - especially in the travel/tourism industry. I booked this hotel for 4 nights and then went on a two day tour to Jordan and came back for one last night where I booked a separate reservation. We arrived early in the morning and they told us that we had to pay for another night given we were early. They even had a room available! So we paid double for a room that we slept in/stayed at for 6 hrs. Check out was at 11am and a maid came banging on our door before 11 to clean the room. I travel all the time and have stayed in more hotels than I can count and never has this happened to me. They will take you for every last penny (or shekel) because they can. I asked to speak to the reservations manager (Ortal) who refused to speak to us and then we were advised to email the hotel manager (Gali) who sent me an email back that was quite rude. Please please please do yourself a favour and book elsewhere! I originally booked at the Ibis Jerusalem and wanted to save some money so I booked here instead. Biggest mistake! You get what you pay for. I would have rather spent the extra $50 US a night to stay in a nice/modern/clean hotel that is more centrally located.…
