Detailed Reviews
This is a very good hotel, situated close to the Old Jerusalem and Ben Yehuda centre. Our apartment was very quiet and had all the facilities. Staff were very nice and helpful, especially that I had an accident and sprained my ankle. Down the road there is a restaurant named The Focaccia where they serve pizza and traditional local food at very good prices. We ended up going there most of the time when we came back from very long day trips.
Also, the hotel is well known and the trip tours do pick up from this hotel which is a bonus.

At first glance of the rooms upon arrival, the Hillel 11 hotel Israel is a bit unimpressive and unkempt. After a day or two you get used to it and begin thinking it’s not too bad after all. Our rug and couch are dirty but I put a sheet on the couch. The hotel is in an area close to a street market where you can eat and shop. The hotel desk clerk is very friendly and helpful. A few things that needed fixing was taken care of a couple of hours after we reported it. It’s not a fancy hotel but it’s 1/5 the cost of others in the area.

The staff were so kind - gave me an upgrade to a larger room for no extra cost. Clean and well-equipped, the hotel is also in a lively street with plenty of shops and restaurants but not noisy.
Also near the old city and an excellent location
They could not have been more hospitable

Not sure how this hotel got a 4 star/circle rating. I realize that this is a budget hotel based on the nightly rate however there are certain bare minimums standards that even a budget hotel should have. First the positives; Front desk staff very pleasant and accommodating and eager to please even though some issues were beyond their ability. The size of the room was nice with a bedroom and a sitting room with a small eating area, sink, couch, TV and additional chairs. Now the negatives: When we arrived at the room we had to request that no less than 5 to 6 lightbulbs be replaced as they were not working. Even after that, the room was very poorly lit and made reading , applying makeup etc. very difficult. There was a musty smell present when entering the room as well as in the hallway when exiting the elevator. The shower door was such that unless you were extremely careful in closing it water would leak into and flood the bathroom. The sink drain was badly rusted. The fridge while functional had several inches thick of ice at the freezer compartment making it difficult to utilize part of the fridge.

This hotel is awful, we chose it on internet bacause of the pictures we saw on booking. We discovered that pictures online don't show the ugly reality. The hotel is dirty, the rooms smell of dust and old building. If you have a problem in your room...it's up to you, nobody comes to help you. The entire building is extremely old. The bathroom in the room have a door to small for the entrance, so if one in the toilet people from the room can see it. Door doesn't close. Disgusting. If I knew it I wouldn't choose it, never!

From the surly woman at the tiniest check in counter I have ever seen, to the wallpaper in the elevator stuck on with cello tape (scotch tape for Americans), to the key with no identifying tag with a room number or name of hotel and lack of towels in the room despite a late check in, you WILL be disappointed in this hotel!
I booked a room for a friend and myself for one night in mid July. I didn’t expect a bargain, but for $153 a room called “junior suite” did not in fact have a queen size bed and a sofa bed. The QS was there but the sofa wgile lookeing like a sectional turned out to be just a woodrn box with an upholstered cushion on top. We asked to separate the beds and they said “no”. So my friend sleptin the bec and I slept in a cushion on a wooden box. Pretty much sums it up in terms of what to expect.
Finally, the shower had hot and cold mislabeled which should be a criminal offense in the Middle East. Better no labels than the wrong ones! The frosted glass door wasn’t exactly clean, it looked like it had been splashed with a dark brown luquid and then cleaned with bleach? Disturbing but not easy to photograph
If they say they offer 24 hour check in be suspicious…. I went out early Saturday morning, no one was at check in when I left and a staff member came in when I got back.

Room 75 had a fridge with so much frost we couldn't fit anything in it. We were told someone would come fix it or replace it but they never did. The sofa had a piece of plywood under the cushions so it felt like you were sitting on the floor. The rugs were so dirty we never took our shoes off
It was very convenient to a lot of things we wanted to see. That's the only good thing about out 7 night stay in Sept, 2019

Good location…. but, this “hotel” is extremely dirty, smelly and everything is barely functioning. Phone line in the room was cut, lights broken, toilets smelled like sewage, closet was broken and dirty and the floor of the room was covered with ants.

We decided to book this hotel because it was mentioned on Booking that the hotel has a parking. It was a first lie. Then we wanted to enjoy Israeli breakfast in hotel. There is no restaurant in the hotel. They sent us to Aroma (kind of local Starbucks).
It was mentioned that there is a suite with a balcony and a beautiful view, however the balcony was dirty and there weren’t any chair.
We’ve tried to call Booking ti cancel the reservation, however, no one picked up the phone.
Just for your information, there are many hotels around with cheaper prices and better conditions.

Hi
I am not from the Hotel but it should be less than 30 minutes driving. depending on what hour.
The Hillel 11 hotel is in downtown Jerusalem, whereas Kibbutz Tzuba is a 20-minute (longer in traffic) car ride outside of town.
I would think that they do accept debit cards - why not? I write a very negative review of Hillel 11, based on our initial shocking experience. We were then moved to a better room - top floors are halfway decent - and the rest of our stay was OK and uneventful.
The location is excellent - between Mamilla Mall / Ben Yehuda area and Machane Yehuda (the big market). All easy walking distance.
Hi,
It’s about 5 min. By walking to the Mamila mall.
Hello.
We accep visa and MasterCard Israeli shekels and USD.
Hope we helped :-))
