It was not the first, but will be the last time we’ll stay in this hotel. The room (233) had a terrible smell of sewage. We called the receptionist which did nothing. We left the hotel not before we informed the morning receptionist about the night without sleep that we experienced. She was not shocked nor did she say anything else. The evening before we had our meal at the restaurant at the top floor. The view was magnificent, the food was returned fully to the kitchen. The waitress did not ask about it, nor was she nice in any way. We did not ask for refund. The bread we ate was ok… it was a very bad and disappointing visit.
I was traveling with a church group. Twelve of us got Covid. The hotel staff were amazing! From the front desk, to the dining room, the chambermaid...EVERYONE was wonderful. They delivered meals to our rooms, helped us with anything that we needed. They were gracious, friendly, compassionate...so great. It's a beautiful hotel located right across from the New Gate in Jerusalem. I recommend it HIGHLY if you are ever in Jerusalem!!! Can't say enough good things about this hotel and especially the staff!! Thank you!!
Amazing hotel with excellent food and service. Outstanding personal. 3 minutes walking is Old City and Sopping Mall. 5 minutes train station. The view from the roof is one of the best. The Reims clean and nice view of the city
Cannot speak highly enough of our stay at the Notre Dame of Jerusalem Guest House. It is located just across the street from the New Gate and is a 10 minute walk from the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. The area is safe and the building is beautiful and impressive. Many good restaurants and stores (Jafa Street) minutes away. Our rooms were basic but clean, comfortable, and had an excellent air conditioning. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. There are three wonderful restaurants inside and we ate at all three - one is a fine dining restaurant that you CAN'T SKIP with beautiful views of the old city, one is has bar style/Western food, and the last has buffet breakfast/lunch/dinner with many options. Laundry service is affordable and has quick daily turnaround. There is a beautiful chapel with daily mass - our family appreciated getting to know Fr. David. More than anything, we felt at home and felt welcomed by the WONDERFUL staff. Abeer at the front desk was very patient as we asked many questions and she went out of her way to help us have an enjoyable trip. Wael in the buffet restaurant made us feel welcome and worked hard to make our meals an enjoyable and social experience. Cannot recommend Notre Dame high enough! We hope to return one day!! Thank you for everything…
My boyfriend and I stayed here for more than a week while he was doing a choir recording gig in a local monastery. The location is amazing, being right next to the train station as well as the Old City. The rooftop patio is stunning--and free for guests. The food was really good too--we ate breakfast and dinner here often. There were huge honey combs dripping into bowls and lots of fresh fruit, including the freshest watermelon every day for breakfast and dinner. Unfortunately my boyfriend got Covid during his stay, but thankfully the staff really helped us out--ESPECIALLY ABEER! Abeer is amazing. We felt so cared for by her. Since I needed to move to my own room, she helped to make sure that I got into a room immediately (thought it was 9:00 a.m. and most rooms were still being cleaned). She also helped make sure I got a really good rate on my room. And she was super helpful and friendly with other things like finding where to pay for train tickets and where to go to the pharmacy. The kitchen staff were very helpful and kind, bringing my boyfriend breakfast and dinner trays. They kept him fed and hydrated, and he was able to recover quickly. I would absolutely recommend and stay again. Tip: Make a reservation at the rooftop Wine & Cheese Restaurant ahead of time!…
Our family of four has nothing but fond memories of our one week stay at Notre Dame. The location was perfect and safe, right across the street from the New Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem, and a short walk to vibrant areas outside the walls with many restaurants and shops. The hotel’s beautiful stone facade was very impressive. Tour buses parked in front of the hotel were a common sight, but we were never inconvenienced as the hotel had adequate facilities to handle tour groups. Our bedrooms and bathrooms were basic but clean, pleasant, and comfortable, with ceiling fans and strong air-conditioning. Laundry service turnaround was quick and price was reasonable. We enjoyed dining in all three restaurants, but the rooftop restaurant stood out with its magnificent views. The beautiful chapel onsite had daily Mass, and it was nice of Fr. David, the director, to take the time to chat with us. The staff were wonderful especially Abeer at the front desk who was very helpful and efficient, and Wael in the buffet restaurant who was friendly and hardworking. Highly recommended and we hope to return soon!…
In the heart of the eternal city of Jerusalem is Notre Dame, a second home for all the guests that are looking for a centric place to stay and to learn from the city that keeps the treasure of the soul of humanity. Great service, amazing team and extraordinary food.
Great service, good atmosphere. Across the streat from the old city, easy to walk to holy sites. Definitely would recommend to others and plan to stay here again when coming back to Jerusalem. Friendly people!
Went to Israel as part of a pilgrimage and stayed at this hotel. Great location, right across from the New Gate and very easy to get to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Good room and food, wonderful staff. Would highly recommend!!
Just across the street from the Old City, Notre Dame provides great service, friendly hospitality at reasonable rates. Their Catholic identity certainly adds to any visit or pilgrimage to the Holy City. The museum quality exhibits and beautiful chapel add to one's visit. The morning coffee could be better, but the rooftop restaurant is top notch. I hope to come back!
