A hotel of contrasts: Great historical building Great location Very reasonable price Fridge (not minibar) in room (also room safe but I didn't bother to find out whether it actually worked) Strong hot shower Swimming pool (I didn't try) versus Very faded rooms - mix of old luxury (marble fittings) and parts very much in need of modernisation (dirty carpets,... The Hotel is a great for a budget. The rooms are very simple, but with good views. The grounds are nice, and the breakfast is great! You have to go up to the top of the Tower, bring your camera, amazing shots! You are walkable to the Jaffa Gate and the shops. Very helpful staff. The hotel needs a bit... More

The hotel has a big plus, because of which all the deficiencies are lost. This hotel is in a historic building with a bell tower, a 15-minute walk from the Jaffa Gate. Guests of the hotel can many times to climb the bell tower and the observation deck. Yet there is a very good breakfast. Rooms are certainly in need... More

This is a gorgeous hotel in a historic building. Like an old colonial hotel, the lobby is very impressive with stained glass and art displayed throughout. The rooms are large and spotless and the breakfast is elaborate. I can't think of a single negative thing to say outside of the slow elevator. Facing the luxury King David Hotel, this is... More

Thank you for your review and compliments. Unfortunately since the building is 85 years old, we cannot enlarge the elevator nor adding another one at the moment. But we are working on adding this through our near project of renovation. Best, Raed More

The location is excellent for those who want to visit old city.Building itself looks nice. In particular, lobby offers a nice touch. Also for those who want an access to decent gym, It is definitely a plus that the hotel offers an access to YMCA gym located at the same premise. Staffs are helpful though friendliness varies by persons. It... More

Thank you for your review and comments. Yes we are a three stars hotel trying our best to provide a 5 stars service and experience. We have different types of rooms (single, double and triple in a addition to Junior Suite) most of the rooms include bath tubs and some are without(only showers). We reserved directly with the YMCA for four nights skipping the booking sites and they gave us a free dinner! Parts of the building and the rooms are dated because it is an old building but that is to be expected. It is a really great budget option right across from the much pricier Kind David hotel. Highly recommended for... More

Its not a luxury hotel, but the service is great the beds are comfortable, the building is just inspiring. The YMCA is not only a place to rest your head but also inspires your soul. It has a swimming pool and gym below and a great tower lookout. We were 3 ppl in one room and had a great time.... More

Stayed for 3 nights in early december. I missed a good bar/lounge area and the rooms was average, but clean. The hotel staff was friendly, but why just one small elevator? The elevator took 4-5 persons without bags and was slow. The pool was OK, but not top notch. The location to the city centre was just around 10 mins.

Thank you for your compliments. Unfortunately, I cannot enlarge the elevator since it's an 85 years old building and that is the maximum for nowadays but in our future coming renovation plan we will be adding another elevator for the rooms. The pool by the way is also 85 years old and it is the first indoor swimming pool in... More

Stayed there for the location & use of the YMCA pool & exercise facilities. Beds are very small & rooms are functional but fine for me. Across the street from the King David Hotel & walking distance to the Wall & shopping, etc
