The Jerusalem YMCA is part of the history of this interesting and complex city. The rooms give you almost the same views as the King David at 1/3 the price. The hotel has a great pool,a must in the hot summer. Wonderful and helpful staff!! Excellent breakfast.

Like many other reviewers, our experience of this hotel and of its staff was very positive. We endorse everything in Douglas D's review, and we were especially delighted to experience the manner in which this hotel makes it its mission to build and strengthen tolerance and understanding between cultures and religions - from its staff right through to Gan ha-Shalom,... I have stayed at the Jerusalem International YMCA some six or seven times since 1988 -- an amazing, historic institution from the British Mandate period (1933), and one of Jerusalem's most identifiable landmarks. But the hotel has had its ups and downs. It has never been a posh place -- one might expect that from a YMCA, though it is... More

This is my 2nd time to Jerusalem; the first time I stayed at Prima Kings. YMCA is a totally different experience. The building was built in the 1920-30s and is a mix of Eastern and Western architecture. It is, quite simply, wonderfully beautiful. The cafe is located out front on the terrace, with flowers and trees everywhere. I had a... More

The Jerusalem YMCA is a beautiful & quaint hotel in the heart of Jerusalem. The hotel itself is old but beautiful. The staff were WONDERFUL...very friendly and super helpful. I had a wonderful experience here.

I am reluctant to review my favorite little hotel. It's not fancy but I love it. As soon as you enter the lobby a feeling of calm takes over. A little bit of sanity in a not very sane world. The rooms are adequate but you don't come to Jerusalem to stay in your room. The terrace restaurant is lovely,... More

This place is an icon. You can feel it's history when you walk through the historic doors. I mean the board of this hotel literally got nominated for a Noble Peace prize! Our AirBNB down the street turned out to be disgusting. We quickly looked on line to see who had a nearby affordable room. Boy did we luck out.... More

What I appreciated the most at the YMCA is that the food was the delicious, reasonably priced but most of all that it was available. Why do I say this? Well during High Holy days such as the Shavuot, many times the hotels will only serve its patrons and prereserved clients. I found that the King David hotel was not... More

That night we visited, there was a carillon concert of israeli music that drew crowds of people. We arrived 2 hrs earlier without any reservation. The lobby manager sought a nice table for us where we could enjoy the meal under the three arches with the concert. The food was very tasty and the service was accountable. Only bad timing,... More

Historical gem across the street from $$$$ King David Hotel at a fraction of the price. Room was simple but clean and air conditioning worked well! The grounds are lovely and we enjoyed cocktails and breakfast on the beautiful shaded patio. Highly recommend!

The beautiful gardens and lawns, graceful shade trees, and stone pathways around the hotel are open for our guests' strolling pleasure.
