The YMCA Three Arches Hotel, with its 152 ft high central bell tower, is a Jerusalem landmark recognized the world over. Designed by the world famous architect of the Empire State Building, the hotel offers a blend of old world charm, friendly hospitality, art works and architectural wonders, together with modern, comfortable accommodations to ensure a pleasant and memorable stay in this remarkable city. The external facade of the hotel bears intricate sculptures and inscriptions in English, Arabic and Hebrew reflecting the YMCA's historical role as a meeting place and a spiritual haven in this intense and ancient city. The beautiful gardens and lawns, graceful shade trees, and stone pathways around the hotel are open for our guests' strolling pleasure. The hotel's public areas feature high-ceiling halls and walls often lined with colorful modern works of Israeli and Palestinian artists. The elegant Archibald C. Harte Restaurant restaurant serves culinary delights to our guests, with its garden terrace a delightful oasis in the midst of the city on sunny days and mild evenings. That same sense of tranquility pervades the hotel's rooms and suites, where guests may relax and gather their strength for days of sightseeing or meetings in bustling Jerusalem. The ancient Jaffa Gate, main entrance to the fascinating walled Old City, is just a few minutes' walk away, as are shops, vibrant cafes and restaurants as well as the cultural attractions and night life of the modern metropolis. Three Arches Hotel awaits your arrival, at the very heart of Jerusalem, where peace and quiet reigns, with a pervasive sense of welcome and well-being.

Detailed Reviews
I just returned from my second stay at 3 Arches in the past year, 15 days total. One would think that there would be at least one “uh oh” or disappointment in that length of time. Not so, as every day met/surpassed my expectations and left nothing but good memories. For a number of years Ive been a frequent business and vacation traveler, experiencing at least 100 room nights/year and I would put 3 Arches in the top 10%. The staff members have a true heart for service and quality and their attitude shines thru in every way. Wonderful location, beautiful, historic building. Good restaurants abound nearby but no need to leave the hotel as the quality/value of the in house dining is top notch. The hotel is located in a high end neighborhood and I’ve noticed that a number of local residents choose 3 Arches for dining, that’s always a good sign.
Without reservation I rate highly.

We stayed 4 nights in the historical heart of modern Jerusalem, facing the old city, at YMCA 3 Arches hotel. Within 15' walking distance from most spots, this 90 year old building is the perfect place for who looks for authenticity. It combines a hotel, a restaurant (closed because of Covid), brand new huge sport and spa equipments opened to the public and the guests alike, a pre-school program for children from all-religions, an auditorium that can be privatised. We stayed in the second refurbished floor and were very happy with our room (expect noise coming from the employees parking). Breakfast was abundant and diversified. The management is making remarkable efforts to upgrade the service level, and this can be felt in every detail and interaction. By his location, architecture and size, this hotel has the potential of becoming a 5* within a few years. Tip: don't forget to visit te tower and the bells room with a 360° view on the city. We will definitely come back.

Junior suites are nicely remodeled. Staff is attentive. Menu could stick with staples plu add a little diversity. First floor common area has historic feel but could use some freshening. guest would also benefit from more of a concierge approach and benefit from location across from the King David.

We decided to stay here, due to the fame of this hotel.
The building is interesting and the view from the tower is worth, however the rooms are really basic, which is not an issue if you are charged an appropriate price.
There are much more elegant and comfortable hotels in the area, which offer much more at the same price level.
Also the service is more in line with hostels than with hotels: again not an issue if at a reasonable price.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. I am disappointed to hear that our service didn't meet your expectations. This critical feedback will be used in training our staff. We usually provide the lowest price in the king David street comparing to the 5 stars hotel around but we always try to provide the best service to our guests and their needs. We do hope you give us another chance as we will definitely improve our services and be able to welcome you back on a return visit to Jerusalem.

My husband and I booked at the YMCA for a few nights stay in Jerusalem. The Y has is in a great location and has some nice features including a gym and spa. They also offer a free dinner if you book a few nights. The room itself is very basic which is understandable considering the price. It's not the type of room you'd want to hang out in, but more a place to sleep if you're going to be out for most of the day. Unfortunately it didn't work for us due to strong cigarette smoke on the floor that we were staying on which seeped into our room. We informed the staff, as it is listed as a non smoking hotel. The staff was cavalier and unwilling to do anything to resolve the issue. The receptionist was especially rude and shouted inciting remarks at us a couple of times as we were walking a way from our conversations with her. We ended up going across the street to King David's hotel which more expensive but was well worth it for the nicer rooms and better customer service. It was clear that the staff at the Y do not value there customers or their experience.

+1
One of the greatest places we've stayed. From the very first welcome and interaction, Raed and his staff were over accommodating, gracious and very attentive to our needs. From the first meals, to the 15 night stay the rooms, accommodations, food, the service, the very proximate location to the Old City was superb. The Y itself is beautiful and radiates the core of it's essence, that being peace. All are welcome and we met so many amazing people from all over the world, from all walks of life. Truly one of the most fantastic places we have ever stayed. We had a group of 24 folks in our party and the entire trip ran like clockwork. If you are looking for great tour groups or taxi service, make sure to find Holy City Tours with Tewfic and Ghada Habesch. They are amazing host. Nabil and George were our tour guide and driver for our expedition and they were both fabulous. For the taxi service ask for Jerry - reliable, prompt, professional, safe, and extremely friendly. I could write so much more; go see it yourself. An amazing place the Jerusalem International YMCA.

Let's start with the positive: The location is spectacular, immediately across from the King David hotel and easy walk to the Old City. The building itself is really interesting with an interesting 1920s history. Love the vaulted ceilings in the lobby, the tower, and the lighting.
On the "meh" side, as most other reviewers note, the breakfast was unexceptional. I also ate dinner there, which was equally unexceptional. (And I don't mean the food was bad, or else I would say so.)
Rooms are smallish with spartan furnishing and look except for the headboard with a cutout of Israel star-site buildings.
If 3-1/2s were available, I'd give it that, and would stay there again.

We stayed with a large group for 8 nights at the Jerusalem International YMCA, Three Arches Hotel, and we could not have asked for better accommodations. The staff were attentive, caring and helpful. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous--something for everyone! And the attached YMCA fitness facility is second to none. The location cannot be beat!!! But the most amazing thing to me was that it is an epicenter of peace and inclusion for all.

Amazing environment, stunning building and reception and excellent service. Marina the receptionist was very clever, eager to explain and help, kind and professional. The room was very satisfactory even if it was not as luxurious as the common spaces. Breakfast was satisfactory as well but did not meet the very promising looks of the hotel. The temperature in the room was excellent and the view amazing. The hotel itself is very near the main mall (Mamilla mall) just five minutes’ walk and about ten minutes or less from the Old City with all the monuments. The price was very good, bearing in mind that everything in Israel was SOoo expensive!!!! Even the food. I would definately recommend this wonderful hotel to anybody who travels to Jerusalem

Just returned from a wonderful visit to Jerusalem that wouldn’t have been the same without the tremendously hospitable staff at the Jerusalem International YMCA 3 Arches Hotel.
The building is beautiful and provides all your essentials for a great visit to the Holy Land.
The food for all meals was prepare well and each staff member went above and beyond to ensure our stay was excellent.
Being part of the YMCA also provides a richer experience than a typical hotel. They run programs such as their preschool and their YMCA Sports center that give back to the community rather than seeking a profit.
Raed, their manager, was extremely attentive and worked hard to provide excellent service. He is a servant, hearted leader.
Thank you Jerusalem International Y and the 3 Arches Hotel! My visit to Jerusalem would not have been the same without my stay at the Hotel!

I stayed there with my son so I would assume you could bring another person up to your room
Only the YMCA can confirm the existence of transport, but it would be beyond surprising if they did provide it given the distance. Calling them may be worth the money.
Enjoy your trip!

Hello. There are a few good options.
Bus 405 is very comfortable and for under $5 (around 16 shekels now) it will take you from the central bus station in Tel Aviv to the Central Bus station in Jerusalem. The coach bus has plenty space for luggage in compartments underneath so if you travel with large bags it wouldn't be a problem. The ride is about 45 minutes without traffic.
Bus 480 is another option for commute between central bus station in Jerusalem to one of the Tel Aviv's train stations (Northern part of the city). This might be a better or worse option depending upon where in Tel Aviv you are going to or are coming from. Same price.
Train is a good option too but it's more expensive, and if you have luggage, you will have to keep it in the car, which might be a bit of an inconvenience for you and other passengers.
Thanks.
